This is a great set of keys to have in any toolbox. The ball ends are especially handy when you can’t get the key perfectly square with the fastener. The bright colors make them easy to identify and find if they get dropped, and the fit was good on the socket head cap screws I tested—not too loose or too tight. Overall, a solid, useful set that’s worth keeping in your toolbox.

I’m the type of person who can somehow find five Allen keys in a toolbox and still not have the size I actually need, so having both SAE and metric sizes together is probably my favorite thing about this STONE REEF set. With 26 pieces split between the two measurement systems, it covers the kind of jobs I normally run into with furniture, bikes, equipment, and random repairs around the house.The long-arm design is especially useful to me. I can get more reach when a screw is recessed, and I have better leverage when something is tighter than expected. I also really like the ball ends. That design is common on better hex-key sets because it lets the wrench engage a fastener from an angle—comparable ball-end sets typically allow roughly a 25-degree working angle—which is incredibly handy when there isn’t enough room to approach a screw perfectly straight.The chrome vanadium steel construction also gives the tools a reassuringly solid feel. Similar quality hex-key sets use alloy or Cr-V steel specifically for strength and resistance to twisting and wear, so I feel much more comfortable putting some pressure on these than I do with the little Allen keys that come free with furniture.I also appreciate having a proper holder. With 26 nearly identical-looking tools, organization matters more than I expected. I can see the sizes, grab the one I need, and actually put it back instead of creating another pile of loose hex keys.For me, this set hits a really good middle ground. It’s comprehensive enough for serious DIY work without being excessive, and having SAE, metric, long arms, and ball ends together makes it genuinely useful. First off, these are a great inexpensive Allen Key Set. For the money, you cannot go wrong with these. Also, if you only buy one set, the metric OR the SAE, your feelings will differ from buying both sets together. The functionality is great for both sets as both will tackle the huge majority of your allen key needs. The problem is telling them apart, Metric vs SAE as they are all painted the exact same color and both sets have a chrome finish. For the larger keys that have the sizes printed on them, this is not a big deal as you you can easily tell which kit they're from. But for the smaller keys, the sizes are not printed on them so there is no visible way to determining which kit they're from. If you mix them up, sorting them out is a real pain. They should have one set in chrome finish and one set black finish and it would be easy to tell which is which. Or they should just mix up or reverse the colors between sets. Also, on the cases, they just have the individual sizes printed on them in smaller print, so for these 55yo eyes, I need to get quite close to tell which is SAE vs Metric. I'll solve this by writing which is which with a white paint marker on the case. Likewise, I'll take a paint marker and draw some distinctive lines across one of the sets. Oh, well. Nothings perfect.As far as functionality, these are fine Allen Keys that are as good or better than all the other similarly priced Key sets in near identical cases. I like these because of the bright paint as, even with the problems listed above, the colors make for high visibility which is what I like in my tools, especially the smaller ones that are easy to lose. Also, the ball almost always comes in handy, so I'd much rather have sets with than without. Overall, this is currently the best bargain kit out there.

I must confess, my Allen wrenches are a mess. Some are in holders, but several are missing. Others I often find scattered around the shop and I have no idea what where they came from or what size they are. Sometimes I just get tired of having all the extras tossed in a drawer when I have no idea the actual size, so into the can they go. I know I'm not the only one. Who knew that you could get color-coded wrenches? What a simple but high-value innovation. I also really like the hinged holders. You can pack a lot of wrenches into a much smaller package and still have easy access.But what about the wrenches themselves? I was very pleasantly surprised by how rugged these wrenches are. The ball end works perfectly, and they easily loosen tight fasteners without rounding over the edges. These are made of quality steel, unlike some others I've seen that are little more than pot metal. I will also point out that both metric and imperial sets include one larger and one smaller wrench than is included in any of my other sets. That's a great bonus.The combination of great functionality and innovative features means these wrenches easily earn my 5-star rating and recommendation.

I like these sets of Allen wrenches! They are advertised as being chrome vanadium steel, which should be durable, but I haven't used them that much yet to know. They are color coded and labeled clearly; no more squinting to read the sides of my Craftsman Allen wrenches to find the correct size. They come in two carriers, one for SAE and one for Metric, so it's easy to keep track of them, and you have the versatility of having both types at hand for the job on the Chevy or the Ikea assembly. There are all of the standard sizes, up to fairly large; you won't often be missing the correct size. They have the ball ends, so you don't have to be perfectly perpendicular to the screw to use them. Cases look pretty durable, and are way better than having loose wrenches in a plastic pouch.... See the picture. I think they provide good value for a casual user, especially if on sale. I'm not yet sure of the durability, but I've got an old set that is still perfect despite years of use; these things aren't typically used as hard as, say, a screwdriver, so I'm reasonably confident they'll be fine over the long term, but will update if I see any problems.

This is a very nice looking set of Allen wrenches. The description says "painted finish" but to my eye they appear to be powder coated. If they are powder coated, the colors should be durable, resist chipping and hold up to cleaning solvents for a long time.Most Allen wrenches are black and disappear when dropped. The bright colors on these make them easy to spot in the bottom of a toolbag or if you drop a wrench under the hood. Very nice feature.The ball ends on the long legs are a definite plus. They allow you to speedily run down the fastener by simply twirling the wrench between your fingers, then flip to the short leg for the final tightening. The plastic rack holds tight enough that they wont fall out, but still are easily removed. I like that the racks are hinged and can be opened up. This makes it easier to get at the smaller wrenches.I tried the fit on as many fasteners as I could find in my garage and both the Metric and the SAE fit precisely.I've am a professional, ASE certified mechanic and have used many hundreds of tools in my career. You can trust me when I recommend this set. You won't be disappointed.
