Ladder Rack Ratchet Straps with J

These retractable ratchet straps have been an excellent addition to my open trailer. I bolted them directly to the trailer, and they've made loading and securing equipment much faster and cleaner. The retractable design keeps the straps organized, the ratcheting mechanism is smooth, and they hold everything securely without loosening during transport. The build quality feels solid, and installation was straightforward. Great product that saves time and keeps the trailer looking organized. Highly recommended.

These ladder rack ratchet straps are a very well thought out system. I really like the retractable design because it lets you pull out only the amount of strap you need, then retract it for quick, tangle-free storage when you're done. Having them permanently mounted on the ladder rack means they're always ready to use, which is much more convenient than digging around for loose straps every time you need to secure a load. The straps are long enough to handle most loads, and the rust-resistant construction should hold up well to being exposed to the weather. Another feature I like is the built-in storage for the ratchet handle, so everything stays together and is less likely to get misplaced. The materials and overall construction appear to be high quality, and the stitching on the straps looks strong enough to provide years of service. The J-hooks also look like they'll provide a secure attachment point while making it quick to hook and unhook loads. Based on my initial observations, I don't have any negatives to mention.

These are very sturdy, durable, heavy ratchet strap assemblies. Honestly, they're almost too heavy duty for most of my uses, which involve things like kayaks and the occasional piece of lumber. But they're super handy because they can stay attached to my rack, unlike normal ratchet straps, which inevitably end up bouncing around in tangles in the back of my truck for weeks until my frustration outruns my laziness.Note the working load on these. I suspect that the strap can handle quite a bit more, but in most cases, the limiting factor will be either the attachment of these bases to your rack (or whatever) or else the strength of whatever you're attaching them to. Your typical trailer wall, for example, isn't going to take a 500-pound force unless you're careful about how you apply it. A thick steel rack will be much more forgiving.The main question I have about these is how well they will hold up if you mount them out in the elements and leave them for five years. That's usually the weak point of this kind of thing. They look like they'll do OK, but we will see.

Absolutely a great cargo rack tie down. Very strong and functional. Once bolted on it’s a breeze to use. The strap is really made strong.

These are pro quality bolt down end ratchet straps. The straps themselves are well made and heavy duty. Included hardware appears to be Grade 8 or equivalent although I have no way to test for that. Ratcheting mechanism works smoothly with the included tool and locks solidly. The pawl mechanism is much more robust than I have seen on other stamped ratchet straps.While specifically designed for ladder racks, these would work well in many other situations as well, such as a fixed mount in a truck bed or cargo trailer. Just be mindful of the 500 pound working load rating. These are so well built that it might be tempting to use them for greater loads, but I would strongly advise you to only use these within the manufacturer's rated load limit.Bottom line: Well built quality fixed end ratchet straps with quality mounting hardware.

Finally got these rack straps installed on my friends work truck. It took a little finagling since his overhead frame was a custom job and didn't quite meet the 2" tubing requirements. But, we managed a work around that ended up with a snug and secure fit of the brackets.Overall, the robustness of the hardware is superb and the quality of the welds and protective covering is outstanding. The strap material is top grade with plenty of length to strap down a couple of stacked ladders. The rachet itself is hefty and the design allows for easy operation both when tightening the straps and getting the catch hammer well out of the way when loosening/removing the straps. This can all be done with one hand, unlike other designs that seem to think you have three hands to release the load and unwind the straps.The rachet leverage tool has a handy storage spot right next to the ratchet itself and is long enough to be comfortable when in use tightening up the straps. My only concern is that there is no securing mechanism to ensure the tool can't jostle out of it's hole in rough terrain. Minor issue that can be solved with a rubber grommet or rubber bands to secure in place.The design of the rounded mounting points allows for several different approaches as to where the actual ratchet and straps storage is located. We decided to mount ours with the ratchet facing downward as this seems to be the best way to keep things from sticking out too far and getting bumped/snagged.
