These are nice and the finished product came out good, but be prepared for some work. If your 2X4's are exactly 3-1/2"x1-1/2" and your 4X4's are exactly 3-1/2"x3-1/2" and perfectly straight, These could be slid on and screwed in place. Unfortunately, lumber is never that perfect so you'll have to either beat these on or sand down your lumber enough to allow them to slide on. I opted for sanding, but really grinding with an angle grinder and 50 grit sanding discs which is pretty messy/dusty. You'll end up sanding/grinding down the end of every board, several inches up from each end, so it's a lot of grinding. Sanding with a sander would'vetaken all day. Unless you have access to perfect lumber, be prepared for some work.

These very heavy duty brackets might be part of my own customized personal work bench (!) or another cradle for the woodpile. This is also under consideration.VERY solid heavy duty steel parts that take on both 4x4's and 2x4's for a snug joint, and ought make a platform that could last until the end of the world - or sometime thereabouts.This won't be hard to do. Hardware is included.

They work ok had the beat them on not sure if they are a little small or if the 4x4 post were a little to big. These are my second set

These are made out of heavy gauge steel, about 3 mm thick. They are sturdy, and nicely welded.The sizing is also adequate for fitting 4/4's as your load-bearing supports, and 2/4's for lateral stability. They're a little oversized for these dimensions, which is great, because you likely won't need precision-cut lumber to build your work bench.A little pricey at $60, but the quality is there.

I used this bracket kit to build a proper workbench in my garage and I am honestly impressed with how straightforward the whole process was. The 3-way right angle design takes all the frustration out of getting square corners. You just slide your 4x4 legs and 2x4 framing into the brackets and everything lines up perfectly. No complicated miter cuts, no second-guessing whether your angles are true.The steel is thick and heavy-duty. Once I had the frame bolted together, it felt like a single solid piece of metal rather than a collection of wood and brackets. I have loaded this bench up with tools, project materials, and even leaned into it hard while wrenching on stuff, and there is zero wobble or flex. The powder-coated finish looks clean and has held up fine to shop dust and the occasional oil drip.What I really appreciate is the versatility. I built a workbench with my set, but these brackets would work great for garage shelving, a firewood rack, or any other heavy-duty framing project you have in mind. The hardware included was solid quality and the holes are spaced well for a tight, secure fit. If you want to build something sturdy without being a master carpenter, this kit makes it almost too easy.

I haven't been able to build the workbench yet because I'm still building the shed, but the quality of this is really heavy duty metal! It's not a thin metal. It's super strong and it's weighted! It has a good finish and there are so many possibilities with this set. It does not come with wood, it comes with the metal to create items out of wood. Wood. I wouldn't hesitate to get this again, and I may do it once I'm up and running with my shop!I've put a photo to give you an idea of size. I know that's always the hard part for me to imagine approximately how big something is. I hope it helps you.

Want to build a workbench very quickly? This may the perfect solution for you. These brackets take your standard 4" x 4" and allow you to frame around it with standard 2" x 4"s. SO, each of these brackets will collar the 4" x 4" and on two sides you will see the openings for passing through the 2" x 4" s. The latter will designate an obvious corner , so for the four of them in the set you have the four corners of the workbench, gazebo kitchen island, whatever you are building.I can see taking two sets of these, six, eight foot 2x4s and probably two, eight foot 4" x 4" posts. If you cut two of the 2" x 4" boards in half and cut the 4" x 4" posts to give you four legs at the height of your desired surface.Pass the leg posts through two of the brackets, raise on up the post about 4 inches from the floor and attach with screws or nails, and another set of the brackets the top of the same posts. Make sure the brackets align so the boards coming out the sides are in the same directions. Running the boards through the sides, you'll see it comer together with the long boards on opposite sides, perpendicular to the short boards. Then a full sheet of plywood as the top;Of course, this is the quickest, roughest bench with the fewest cuts, you may want a ledge, a shelf below or multiple shelves, but with these kits it is so easy to do it feels good enough that you'll want to make more right away.Hope that helps.
