I've been using this viewing shield with my 50W MOPA fiber laser and use it for nearly every project. The tinted acrylic arrived in perfect condition with protective film on both sides, and the tint makes it easy to see what's happening in the work area while the laser is operating. I would still recommend additional lighting when trying to inspect the finished portions during engraving process.The approximately 5 mm thickness gives the panel a nice amount of rigidity and would pair well with an enclosure build. It fits into 2020 aluminum extrusion with just a tiny bit of slack, which makes it easy to incorporate into a simple viewing arrangement. I can position it in front of the work area without interfering with the project itself.I haven't built an enclosure yet, so I can't speak to how this would perform as part of a complete enclosure system or independently verify the advertised OD6+ rating. For my current setup, it serves well as a viewing shield while allowing me to keep an eye on the laser work without constantly repositioning the panel.For anyone building out a fiber laser workstation, this is a useful piece of material to have on hand. The rigidity, tint, and easy mounting make it extremely convenient for fixing in place as a dedicated viewing shield.

These YIBEICO laser safety panels are the only ones that i can find on Amazon that actually have the rating, range and serial number engraved onto every panel i have recieved from them. I think the larger panels are a better value per square inch, but since i don't really recommend parting them off or bending them, (bending can distort the od6+ rating at the bend) this smaller panel is really good if you are just trying to add a viewing panel on an enclosure, such as a metal cabinet that you want to view the engraving process through.these are rated in the range of my 1064nm fiber laser, so the od6+ rating applies to this wavelength, i have also purchased one of their (orange) panels for blue laser wavelengths, it is also engraved with rating, wavelength range and serial number.if it doesn't have a serial number, you probably shouldn't trust the rating. atleast in terms of raw panels, this many be a little different for safety goggles/eyewear.also, it's wrapped and packed nicely so it doesn't get scuffed up during shipping. remember, these are plastics, so don't clean with solvents or scratchy cloth, plastic is softer than glass, so you could scuff with paper towels.

Been using this for three weeks now. First day I held it up to a shop light and looked through it, and the green is deep, though I could still read a caliper face on the far bench.Weight is the thing I keep noticing. At 4.8 ounces it has real heft for a window this size, and the moment you pick it up in two hands you can tell it isn't acrylic sheet dyed green. I pressed the middle with both thumbs and got nothing back, no bow, no give. Edges are cleanly finished, so I wasn't nervous handling it bare-handed while fitting it into the frame I cut. The face takes fingerprints like any coated optic, but a microfiber wipe clears them without smearing or dragging. There's a slickness to the surface that reads as coating rather than raw plastic. Nothing about it feels cheap in the hand, and that matters when the whole job is standing between my eyes and the beam.Not once has it rattled or crept in its opening. The fit and finish are great.OD6+ across 800 to 1100 nm covers what my fiber source puts out, and I've watched jobs run for long stretches with no eye fatigue afterward. For what it costs, I'd call it fair insurance for eye protection. Two more ordered. Great value for the money.

I am somewhat of an expert on these type of laser windows and glasses. While I am not a big fan of CE rated equipment, as I consider the rating standard suspect to the manufacturer certification rather than an independent lab like UL or ETL. But this window appears to be properly made. They properly list the frequencies of light and the OD blocking ability. They also serialized this unit, which is a big plus for traceability. Which is a lot more professional than a lot of places that sell these. This particular size looks to be made for a helmet. I don't plan to use it that way. I plan to make a plastic or metal enclosure for my laser engraver and put this window horizontally in the center so I can view my engraving without having to worry about wearing glasses. It's perfect for this purpose. It's definitely of the appropriate thickness. And it appears correct. I do not have proper testing equipment to put the appropriate frequencies on this at a specific power level to measure its transmission level. But like I said it appears to be built correctly. It also has a decent amount of visible light pass through for your ability to see what's happening inside in my engraver in my case. You can always add a light inside your engraver, which I do have, two illuminate the engraving and be able to see it clearly through this window. As always, these type of laser safety protection shields, are designed for stray reflections from your laser welder or your laser engraver. They are NOT designed for direct laser beam exposure and protection. On my high-powered laser welder, this window if put right in front of the focused beam would protect for about 0.1 to 0.2 seconds before it penetrates. So don't lure yourself into a false sense of security and ever. A laser directly at one of these lenses. For a low-powered laser engraver this single lens is more than sufficient. If you're using it on a helmet with a high-powered laser, wear a pair of laser safety glasses under your helmet. I know it sounds like a lot of extra protection and it does dim your ability to see, but it's worth it. You only have one set of eyes. This is a nice sized window whether standalone as I am plan to use it or in a helmet. It also represents a good value for the money, it's really not that expensive and your eyes are worth it.

Great product. I used a printer enclosure and cut away the original film that wa difficult to see through for the window and installed this laser safety filter window. It works great. I might buy a film tinted static cling to put in a small area when I want to observe super bright light without wearing my safety goggles (I know — I should always wear them, but since I know I won’t I will buy the darker film to make a more protected viewing angle). The size is good and the price may seem high but frankly with the quality of the product I would have been happy to pay even $10-$20 more now seeing it. I was delighted once it was installed and I saw how nice it was. I could have don’t a better job on my install but that is on me for just wanting to get it done fast. I might go back and make it nicer in the future and increase the window area as I artificially made my smaller with the tape. But for now I am all set with the aluminum tape install until I get some time to do something different. Definitely recommend the product and the exact setup with the Yoopai giant printer enclosure works great for a full size fiber MOPA laser setup. (Both sold here on Amazon).

I use this in conjunction with a tent style enclosure for my fiber galvo laser. it is affordable and it works well.
