We have a chain link fence with several gates covering an acre of propertyPROS:--Stainless steel means no rust which kills a few of our hinges over the years.--Kit comes with the bolts that all fit both sides of the hinge--The look is shiny, not galvanized, which looks more finished than the usual utility look of galvanized hinges.--Easy to install--At $19.99 at the time of purchase, these are in line price-wise with similar hingesCONS:--Size may not be consistent - we have 6 gates that take 2-3 hinges, and they did not fit well on some of the gates.--They did not fit on the bigger double gates for cars/trucks, but they did fit on most of the walk-through gates.--On the walk through gates, one fit well on the top part, but not on the bottom - there seemed to be slight variations that made them fit well in one place, but not another.Overall, they are good, especially if you have several gates like we do, where we could use the hinges on a different gate where it fit better. The differences are subtle, but important, which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

My gate broke and I’m not quite sure how I’m going to fix it. The original gate was a custom made double swing garden gate and I don’t know where to get another.So instead, I decided to build a whole new gate. I’m not sure how I’m going to accomplish this task but I do know that this chainlink fence gate hinge kit will be an essential part of my project.Assembling this hinge kit is pretty straight forward; no instructions needed for such an easy install. The stainless steel material is durable and high quality. The hinges are heavy, but that’s to be expected from quality metal. Comes with nuts and bolts, ready for install.I chose the hinge first so that I could easily build my gate around the size needed for this hinge. The 3/8” tubing size is perfect for the size of gate I’m building. Anything bigger would be overkill, this is a garden gate after all.These hinges look like they will hold up well to weather and I think the price is appropriate for the quality of material used in this product. They may not be pretty, but I bet this new gate will hold up a lot longer than the aluminum one I’m replacing.

I got this to fix a hinge that busted on the gate of my round pen for my horses. I figured this would be a quick easy solution. I’m very happy with the quality, they are solid and well made. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size! So I can’t report on how well they function until I get the other size in. But I like them well enough to order them in a larger size, that should say something. Will update when I officially get the RIGHT size installed.

I ordered these heavy-duty stainless steel 1 3/8” Dootoo hinges in the wrong size for hanging a horse gate that broke away from my pony’s livestock shelter. I didn’t realize that the diameter of the pipe panels is more than a standard chain-link fence post. I should have measured because the 1 5/8” are just a bit small, and too sturdy to be stretched to fit. They’re great hinges though, and I will be using these for another project. I’ve already ordered a second set in the correct size for the pony’s gate. I appreciate the stainless steel material because it resists corrosion, even in the coastal climate where I live and where rust is a big concern. The hinges are made to endure weather, stress, and long-time daily use. Instead of being welded, they are each made from a single solid piece which gives them greater structural integrity. The set comes with the bolts and nuts that fit easily into the holes for quick installation. They open and close smoothly and are heavy enough to prevent sagging. They cost more than standard galvanized hardware, but are a great value in the long run. I couldn’t use it on the horse pipe-panel, but they’ll come in handy for a future project.

The hinges are stainless and passed my magnet test. Should be really durable and stay nice looking for years. The hardware is not stainless but it fit right and is a matching but duller silver color. The fit on the hinges was okay, but the outer hole wasn't completely round, so it does have the potential to bind. I put a picture that shows the top of the hinge so you can see the fitup. Not a total failure but I dropped one star due to the poor fit.

I didn’t realize that I could get joy out of fence parts, but once I installed, this set of hinges, I realized how great they were. What I should say is that I realized how bad my old hinges were. These hinges are great, and work very well, and my last hinges were so old that rust had overtaken them. These installed very easily, and it took me probably five minutes to get the old ones off and new ones on. I’m happy that they are stainless steel, and will not rust. I’m also happy how sturdy and strong they seem to be. The bolts were machined well, and didn’t have any knobs, and the bolts went on tight without too much extra work. After a weekend of heavy rain, the hinges are still working just fine with no issues. The price is great, and I will probably be buying three more sets for my other gates. Great purchase at a great price.
