Works great, with ease

This works as desired. Very pleased with the entire package. Crimper tool with wire cutter is a good tool. Worth my investment. Only wish is it would have been nice to get some endcaps to crimp on the wire. So don't forget to buy some.

Excellent

Excellent. Used it to thread through my garden net fencing to help keep it from bowing. Only problem I had was the cutters don’t cut all the way through every time but I learned if you keep it straight and cut like you mean it, it works about every time lol

perfect for securing my yard lightsperfect for securing my yard lights

This wire rope kit is just what I needed to secure yard lights in my yard. The wire rope is small. Just 1/16th of an inch. It is light weight and easy to use. It appears to be a good quality and does not have any broken or sharp wires on the spool. There are instructions included to teach you how to crimp the wire but I found that it was easier for me to figure out what I actually needed on my own.The crimping tool has an area to crimp the wire as well as a built in cutter to allow for clean ends on the wire. The kit also comes with a pair of gloves that fit me but are way too small for my husbands hands. This kit really does have everything I need to secure my yard lights and is budget-friendly kit for small (light weight) projects.

small cable but appears to be strong. Holding my 18'x18'x18' sail shade with no problems.

[Number of Items: 263]
Cable is small at 1/16" but seems to very strong and durable. I am using it to hold my 18x18x18 shade sail and it has held up so far even with high winds. The included cutter/crimpers make it easy to produce any length cable. The kit comes with plenty of Farrells and loops to make many projects. the included thin white gloves are completely useless and I'm not even sure why the are included in this kit, they darn sure dont protect your fingers from the little wire cables. Even though this 1/16" kit appears to be durable its longevity remains to be seen. I will probably order the 1/8" cable kit next time and would recommend it if you're needing to hold something that has significant weight. I'm still giving this kit 5 stars because it did suit my needs.

This wire rope kit is an exceptionally generous, budget-friendly bundle for hanging light-duty items. While the hardware and cutting tools perform beautifully, the manufacturer's illustrated instructions for the crimping process are confusing and lead to messy results. The Good: Quality Hardware and Solid CutterThe kit offers outstanding value and robust physical components for the price:Excellent Cutter Performance: The crimper/cutter combo tool is the highlight of the set. It slices through the 1/16 inch wire rope effortlessly, leaving clean, unfrayed ends that are easy to thread through the sleeves.Heavy-Duty Spool: Unlike cheap kits that ship wire wound around flimsy cardboard or brittle plastic, this set uses a rugged, thick plastic cylinder that holds up to being tossed around the shop.Abundant Accessories: The kit is packed with a generous number of crimping sleeves and thimbles, meaning you won't need to run to the hardware store mid-project.Tool Versatility: The crimping tool features multiple size slots, making it a useful addition to your toolbox for other wire and crimping projects beyond this specific kit.The "Comical" Gloves: The manufacturer includes a pair of lightweight knit gloves. While a nice thought, these soft fabric gloves are virtually useless for protecting your hands from the sharp, splintering steel ends of a cut wire rope. You will definitely want to swap these out for real leather work gloves. The Bad: Confusing and Flawed Crimping InstructionsThe manual's instructions for securing the aluminum sleeves are mechanically counterintuitive:The Figure-8 Alignment Dilemma: The diagrams show the "correct" way to crimp is to align the sleeve between two different crimp openings in the tool's jaw. The center tooth is then supposed to crush downward directly into the narrow center channel of the "figure-8" shaped sleeve.Double Crimp Marks: I tested this officially recommended method. While it holds the wire tightly, it forces the adjacent, larger crimper teeth to bite into the outer edges of the sleeve, leaving ugly, unnecessary gouges and extra crimp marks on the metal. The Superior Alternative: When I crimped the sleeve using the standard method—seating the sleeve flat inside a single, matching crimping loop and compressing it top-down—it resulted in a much cleaner, smoother, and incredibly tight finish. Both methods hold the line securely, but the standard method looks far more professional.Final VerdictFor only $28, getting 328 feet of 1/16 inch wire rope, a multi-size crimping tool, and a massive assortment of sleeves and thimbles is an incredible bargain. It is perfect for hanging shop lights, signs, picture frames, or garden trellises. Just ignore the odd crimping instructions, throw away the knit gloves, and use standard top-down compression for a clean, secure hold.
