Solid box with four latches that keep the lid tight. Each of the pass-throughs has a clip and gasket to keep the elements out. Didn’t have any issue with the thick wife of a power strip - box closed and sealed securely. Plenty of room for a decent sized power strip to distribute power to outdoor lights etc.it’s been thru the rain and some bad weather and has not leaked. Have not had it in deep snow yet, but I will find out the winter!Overall it’s a solid and easy to work with box that isn’t too expensive. Does a great job of keeping my outdoor power needs secure and dry.

This is a really nice outdoor electrical box. I'm using it in my barn where I needed a surge protector power strip going out to multiple devices and a network switch. I was able to install this on the wall near a pressure washer. The main reason I wanted everything in a water tight box. I've used other electrical boxes that are flimsy and you wonder if they'll last. This is a heavy duty box that I was able to mount to the wall. Works great

This plastic enclosure is designed to protect electrical connections from water splashes and light rain. It works well for temporary or portable outdoor use, but I wouldn’t recommend it for permanent outdoor installations because the flexible plastic may not hold up well to years of direct sunlight and extreme heat.Key Features: Rubber grommets on each cable entry point effectively seal out moisture. Generous interior space that easily fits my portable jump-start kit (with battery) while allowing the cables to exit for easy access to a car battery. There's not a lot to say about a product like this, which is actually a good thing. It's a straightforward outdoor electrical box that does its job well.What I likedDecent amount of interior space.I don't have a lot of personal reference but there's plenty of room for a power strip, multiple plugs, or a timer, without feeling cramped.Flexible cable routing.I like that there are several cable entry and exit points, making it easy to configure for different setups.Solid construction.The box feels sturdy, and the metal latches provide a secure closure. The box is a decent size and has a decent lid clamp. However, it has little rubber wipes which act as the waterproofing to keep water from coming in where the cords come out. However, they're not angled but the holes bend down - which means the cord's going to go through in an elliptical path, not a circular path. Also, even if they did make a perfect seal, all the holes which don't have wires aren't sealed. If you're in a place where the rain only comes straight down this would be a perfect seal... but if you have any wind there's no doubt water will make it in. And that's where this gets bad: this can fill up with water like a bathtub, which is bad when you have an extension cord inside.

The two larger cord ports for fat RV cords are at the ends of the box, which is great since I wouldn't be able to wangle those "bologna cords" to both go out one side. There's still room after my RV terminals are in there. Regular size extension cord ports are spaced out down the length of the box.This clips shut on all four sides like a food container. It's thick ABS, which handles weather without getting brittle. I am so glad it doesn't have a hinged lid so it won't be tipping backward while I'm trying to get the connections in there neatly.The biggest reason I'm glad there isn't a hinge? You likely guessed it. Plastic hinges on sealing boxes break, becoming useless clamshell cases that won't hold anything.This is kind of like a waterproof camera case, and the box I put my fishing flies and stuff in for toting them to the river, and an ABS toolbox, except it keeps cords dry and contained.I didn't know these boxes had improved so much, so I thought they were still just a box with no seal until last week. Since any plastic bin can do what that did, there really wasn't a point in getting one.This one is worth getting. It has a nice, recessed silicone seat going all around the edge of the bottom piece, and the lid has an inner "lip" that's already not going to get water to it, but that smooshes down in the silicone to make a tight seal.As for it being ABS, I still have a two-toolbox clip-together stack on wheels that has been in use since before 1995. It's seen some action, but it's just as sturdy as ever.That tells me this box will likely outlast me by at least several decades. Again, no hinge, no fail point, no worries.If I have my electricity connected inside this box and the power goes out, I would assume the whole area is having an outage. If it's all cracking thunder and lightning outside, I would report an outage before I would suspect a leak because, seriously, to get rain into it, it would have to be submerged, upside-down, or run over (thrice) with my motorhome, all of which are normally avoidable.I'm happy I never have to go out in a lightning storm over and over, ever again, just to check whether the temporary shelter I quickly rigged up for my connections (always when the storm was almost there) is holding up to the wind and water.I will now check my breaker, first, naturally, then call to check outage information, and skip looking like an ocean fisherman in my big yellow raincoat and rubber boots. I'm an old lady, and I personally don't think that's a very flattering look for me. Okay, it's a little funny, but still not my favorite.Well made, and the little cord port "vestibules" on the lid direct the cords downward so even if the cord is coming from a higher point, water is dripped off before the cord goes back upward into it's port.In short, I'm happy to have this for a lot of what I consider to be very important reasons. ... reducing my time outside with lightning flashing while messing with electrical connections in a raging downpour feels pretty important.
