Works great for 90 degree angles!Works great for 90 degree angles!

I’m pretty impressed with this metal gate lock! It is a simple design that works great on a 90 degree angle. I used this gate lock to secure a door on the farm that doesn’t have a knob, it just swings freely. This gate lock is easy to install but I would recommend installing one half of it & then placing the other half up there to make sure it will line up properly. The gate lock comes with 4 screws to install it with but they are very small & short. I ended up getting longer ones for my project so they would hold better. The gate lock is easy to use, the locking part turns smoothly, & it holds securely. I didn’t need to use the 180 degree version of this lock but it will work that way as well. I’m very happy with this gate lock so far & it’s a relatively inexpensive fix too!

Sleek matte black finish looks great on the wall. Easy to install and holds firmly. Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Minimalist design fits any décor.

Love the ability to determine angle

[Color Name: Matte Black, Number of Items: 1]
I installed these matte black latches on a couple of barn-style doors and some heavy cabinets, and they’ve quickly become my favorite hardware upgrade. The aluminum alloy feels solid and well-machined, with a nice smooth flip action that’s easy to operate one-handed. What I like best is the versatility — they securely lock at both 90 and 180 degrees, which works perfectly for swinging doors, sliding tracks, and even right-angle setups. The matte black finish looks clean and modern while resisting fingerprints and scratches. Installation was straightforward with the included screws, and they sit flush without any wobbling. Once latched, they hold everything firmly in place with no rattling, even on doors that get opened and closed frequently. After a few weeks of daily use, the mechanism still moves smoothly and shows zero signs of wear. They add a good level of security without being overly complicated.

It’s okay

[Color Name: Matte White, Number of Items: 1]
This item works well. It should not be used as a lock for an outside door or window as it is not a secure lock. But it works well for doors that don’t stay shut. It also should not be used for a child safety lock.

Sturdy latch that stays putSturdy latch that stays put

[Color Name: Matte Black, Number of Items: 1, Color Name: Matte Black, Number of Items: 1]
We picked this latch to replace the one on our old back door that liked to swing itself shut and threaten to lock us out. I wanted something that would click into place cleanly but not flop around on its own.We installed it on that back door. Once it was up, we’ve been using it as the everyday way to secure that door (along with a couple of other latches). The action feels good in the hand, with that little raised spot for your fingers making it easy to flip open and closed without fumbling. It has enough resistance that it stays put until you intentionally move it, so no more latch casually drifting back into the locked position. The metal feels solid, not flimsy, and the motion is smooth. The one annoyance is that it did not come with a spacer plate, which we needed to get it aligned properly. We had a spare, so it was a quick fix, but if you are starting from scratch you might have to improvise or buy something to use. This is a nice fit if you have a door that needs a simple, sturdy latch that will not swing shut on its own and you do not mind a bit of install tweaking.Bottom line: solid latch that works well once you get it installed the way you like.

Perfect for chicken runs

[Color Name: Matte Black, Number of Items: 1]
This latch is perfect for a chicken coop or a chicken run. It is easy to flip up the latch when you have your hands full and also its simple to close and secure the run as you leave. This is a slightly larger than normal flip latch, which makes it really easy to operate if your hands are dirty or you’re carrying eggs or something. It’s a simple idea, the latch flips left to right to lock and unlock. But the best part is that this is a 90 degree or a 180 degree latch, so it’s made for door frames that are at a 90 degree angle from the door or for straight, full inlay doors. If you find yourself in this situation, you will also probably find that it is nearly impossible to find a latch that works in this way. Most are 180 degree only, but this smart latch can be used at either angle. This has really been a great latch for our chicken run, it prevents the door from opening with the wind or if the chickens get scared and start flapping around and push it open. We use this on the inside of the run, so we can latch it when we are inside hanging out with our girls or collecting eggs.

Looks good, better suited for light-duty applicationsLooks good, better suited for light-duty app...

This latch set looks nice and feels good - the matte black finish is a good choice and the hardware feels smooth in operation. The latch mechanism clicks cleanly into place, and the included screws sit flush and are color-matched, which gives the finished install a cleaner look. That said, these are lightweight cast aluminum parts, so expectations should be realistic. The receiver piece on my set is fairly rough and has some leftover casting material on one side that will need to be ground off before that side can be used properly. The tolerances on the receiver are also fairly loose. On the positive side, that makes installation more forgiving since alignment doesn’t have to be exact. On the downside, it also introduces some movement and potential rattling, especially on lightweight doors or panels.I would also hesitate to consider this a true “security” latch. Depending on the mounting orientation and the direction the door opens, it seems like a determined person could force it apart fairly easily. For light-duty use - things like cabinet doors, gates, shutters, or even wooden blinds - it should work perfectly fine, but I wouldn’t rely on it for serious security applications. At the end of the day, it looks good, the price is reasonable, and it should work well once the rough casting material is cleaned up.

Sleek, Sturdy, and Actually Stays on the Wall

[Color Name: Matte Black, Number of Items: 1]
The matte black finish on this is genuinely nice — not that cheap spray-paint look that shows every fingerprint. It mounted cleanly to drywall with the included hardware, and the hold is surprisingly strong. I was nervous about wall mounts in general because I’ve had them pull away from the wall after a few weeks, but this one hasn’t budged. The matte finish also photographs really well if you’re doing any home content, which is a bonus. Installation took maybe five minutes. Solid buy.
