Waterproof 15A Inline Switch Power Cord

I ordered the 6' version.  It is a very nice 14AWG IP65 Waterproof LED Switched Cord.  The LED Switch seems to be well encased by its rubber housing (see pic), and makes a solid click from Off/On.  The reason I recommend getting the 15':  The 6', you are 43" from the Outlet.  You might as well buy a much cheaper Unswitched Cord, and Unplug it.  The 15' does not cost much more, but the Switch is 112" from the Outlet.  Also, most 'wet area' outlets are raised from the ground;  6' does not get you very far.   15' is much more functional. Lastly, most outdoor outlets are covered.  To close the cover, you need a Right Angled Prong.  This being Straight, you really should unplug it when done; to close the outlets cover.  P.S. I am pretty sure it was supposed to be Right Angled, when I ordered it?  Also, a website pic shows its dimensions being 3'; which needs to be corrected.  The 15' would be 5 Star.

I purchased this cord looking for a durable and waterproof way of turning off my gazebo ceiling fan. It is outside so it has to be a waterproof solution and it has to be sturdy. This extension cord, with its included switch did not disappoint. It's safely turns my ceiling fan on and off and I don't have to worry about it shorting out the line from not being what a resistant. For this reason I would buy this extension cord again. I think it is a good value on a safe item.

This extension cord with a switch works great. It's made up of a sturdy 14-gauge cable and it's marked as SJT VW-1, so it's flame-retardant and self-extinguishing, but only at 75C. The switch is also sturdy, with a wide paddle rocker, and I like that it uses a rubber boot, so it's not going to get gummed up with sawdust or other debris. It does appear that the switch is screwed onto the cable rather than being formed right into it. This might be a concern if it's being left outside. For interior work, it seems well-sealed against dust. But, I was disappointed that the unit that I received does not have the angled plug that's shown in the product listing. I would very much prefer that kind of plug as it doesn't stick out from the wall, so equipment and cabinets can be pushed right up flush to the wall.

This is a thick heavy duty cord with a waterproof switch in-line.I ordered the 6 foot cord and it's approximately 6' in length including the plugs on the ends. The cord is thick with 14AWG wiring. It has straight connectors on both ends with a 3-prong plug. The power switch is approximately 2' from the end of the cord with the female plug. The power switch illuminates with low red light when turned on and lets you see at a glance that the cord has power. The power switch is larger than I would have expected with that section of the cord measuring approximately 4.4" in length, 1.4" in width, and 1.8" in height. The power switch has what looks like an excellennt seal against water. I weighed the cord at 13.51 ounces.Using the cord the plugs feel secure when attached to power and devices. The power switch is easy to toggle on and off and the light makes it easy to see.One thing to note is that while the product images show an angled plug this has a straight plug not an angled plug.I think this is an excellent cord to use outdoors where you want a convenient power switch on the cord. And the heavy wire used makes it a good choice for high power loads.

Numerous times throughout my adult life I have plugged in an extension cord and wondered if the circuit is fused appropriately. However, by having this cord with a inline fuse/breaker I feel better about hooking my equipment up to it. Now I know there is a fusable link!Most people don't pay attention to this and go with the whole "either it will work..." mentality. However when you are connecting a expensive tool such as a table saw, chop saw, sump pump...all it will take is burning up one of those to change that traine of thought.This is an excellent safety minded design and the cord is made well. Also the price is very appealing as it doesn't cost much more than a quality extension cord...but this one has "insurance".Top notch and it's been working great. I need to add more to the work truck in different lengths.Recommended!

I’m using this 6-foot outdoor extension cord to use on a mobile PA system that I built into a wheeled cart. I needed a power cable that is genuinely heavy duty, and the thick jacked protectin the 14AWG pure copper wiring, I’m satisfied with the rugged build and confident it can handle the load without heating up.
