This Door shutter is great. The directions look super complicated but if you just pick one of the 3 options and put the template up and screw where the dots are it is super simple. It took me and my dad about 30 minutes to put up and adjust it to our liking. you can adjust things like how fast it shuts most of the way and how fast it shuts towards the end so if your door has to be pushed hard to shut all the way you can make it close faster towards the end like we did. It feels high quality and well made in general and i think it should last a while if kept out of the rain. It does take a little more effort to open the door but once you get used to it its nothing to worry about. The kit came with different screws depending on if you are using a wood or a metal door which adds a little bit of versatility and is very convenient. It doesn't look to bad and honestly I don't even notice it at all. i think this is a great choice if you are in the market for door stoppers.

Whoa! This contains such heft when carry it to inspect, as I've had others before, at this grade, which is a Medium Duty level. It's durable to use . It's has all the components to serve its purpose, through and through. As far as installation is concerned; I'm female and capable of many duties of installation for other products I've done myself. But, in ernest this I need assistance with, since I'm not so experienced for its installation. I would rather have a professional do it for me. It has all parts and hardware with install guide to do so. That helps me to know I can really in it being done properly. My landlord can do all of it. He has a new place of business to apply it to the publically accessed door entrance and exit. I obtained this for those reasons, for his usage at work. If necessary he will adjust it accordingly to suit the requirements of that particular door. Door closure by this unit will really aid in that purpose. He won't have to tell others to make certain they close the door behind them. Nor will he have to go after the public to ensure the door has closed all the way after their departure. As this door closer actually closes the door, that's done for him after each use. So, essentially he got what he was after. He suspects after some use if any adjustments are needed he may do so at any point and time, as he says it contains that availability to have adjustments made with direct access to the closure at hand.

This door closer was a big pain to install, BUT NOT because of their design. It was my location. So do take note: if you need to install this on the hinge side of the door and the door is recessed much, it will take some work. MY PROBLEM was that I have an inch of foam insulation and drywall on the garage side of my door, so the arm mount and the unit mount are NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same plane. The design of these closers allows for that on the latch side, but not so much on the hinge side. After a lot of adjustments and trying to extend the arm out, we gave up and just cut the drywall and insulation back and mounted the arm to the door frame (with a little metal strengthening plate) Once we did that and adjusted the closing force, it has been working great ever since!SO! I would say that this is a good product, and once we overcame a difficult install I have been very happy with it. It closes the door at a good speed and then firmly latches it. Just what I needed for the code required Garage-to-house door. Additionally, my house is built really tight air-wise and it is able to overcome the air pressure in the house and still close the door.

I've installed four door closers in the last few years. They are fairly universal in installation, function, and quality. This closer has above average adjustability. The major difference among door closers is price and force as they are rated for different weight doors.This one is rated for commercial use medium which is your average outdoor, door. Installation was simple, and actually slotted right into the previous door closers location. That one lasted over a decade so I'm hoping for the same. The initial quality check does pass. It has a nice heft, is adjustable, and the door closes smoothly. Other door closers have 2 adjustments. One for the closing speed when wide open, and another when the door is almost closed. This one however has another 2 adjustments for closing force and backcheck control.Overall this is a great door closer. Particularly since it is signficantly cheaper than door closers sold by major hardware stores making it an excellent value. I highly recommend this.

I've never installed a door closer before but have a lot of experience with general home repair. My experience with this product was that the instructions were ok, not great, but passable. The life saver here was the mounting template. Once you figure out if you have a left or right opening door and tape the template onto it correctly, the mounting is a breeze. Also just be sure you have the closer mounted in the correct orientation. I have a right closing door that swings inward. I pictured how I folded and taped on the template. The only issue I had was that the screw protruding from the frame mount hit the door while opening. This this would have worked if I had the pivot screw on the frame mount pointing upward, but I wanted it down for easier access, so I had to mount the frame bracket about 1/4" higher than the template suggested. Other than that small adjustment, it was easy. All hardware is included.I also wrote on my door frame what each screw does. They are labeled 1, 2, BC, and unlabeled. All labeled screws are valves that when screwed in (clockwise) slow the speed of the door. 1 is the speed that the door swings shut so that it closes behind you, but not so fast that it clips your heels.2 controls the speed of the last few inches before it latches. This can be adjusted so that right before the door reaches full closure, it goes much faster to make sure it latches properly. This is nice for doors that need a little extra oomph to lock securely. 2 can also be screwed in to slow the door at the end of closure to keep it from slamming. Nice.3 is BC and they say it is the resistance opening, but I didn't really notice a difference and the factory setting seems fine.The unlabeled adjuster by BC is spring tension on the door and I loosened mine a couple of turns as the spring seemed a little too strong.Quality seems very good. I have no other door closers to compare it to, but this one seems nice and I would buy another if needed. The price is competitive, the quality seems excellent, and the adjustability is great.

I got this commercial door closer for a busy entry door and honestly…this thing feels HEAVY DUTY right out the box.
