Key Features

  • [CORONA TREATED – PAINT LOCKS ONTO FILM, NOT THE FLOOR]– JMI BASIC white masking film uses corona treatment to bond overspray paint directly to the film surface. No dripping. No flaking during removal. No paint landing back on your fresh finish. The standard for professional auto body shops worldwide.
  • [HEAT RESISTANT TAPE UP TO 80°C / 176°F FOR 60 MINUTES – NO RESIDUE] – Pre-attached yellow crepe tape withstands spray booth temperatures for up to 60 minutes without softening, bleeding, or leaving adhesive residue. Peels off cleanly in one smooth motion – no sticky traces on panels, trim, or glass. Rubber-based adhesive ensures strong hold during the job and clean release after.
  • [ELECTROSTATIC CLING] – GRIPS PANELS ON CONTACT, NO EXTRA TAPE – Electrostatically charged film sticks to car doors, hoods, fenders, and bumpers the moment it touches the surface. Stays flat through an entire spray session. Zero gaps. Zero bleed-through. Zero mid-job adjustments.
  • [ANTI-FLAKE & CLEAN FINISH] - Unlike cheap plastic, dried paint sticks to our film like a magnet. This prevents dried paint dust from falling onto your fresh coat when removing the film.
  • [AUTOMOTIVE FIRST. WORKS EVERYWHERE ELSE TOO] – Engineered for collision repair, spray booth painting, and auto refinishing. Equally effective for interior wall painting, construction masking, window protection, and furniture coverage. Tear-resistant, waterproof, zero adhesive residue on all surfaces.
  • [FLEXIBLE FILM THAT CONFORMS TO EVERY CURVE] – Unlike stiff plastic sheeting that gaps on body lines, JMI BASIC film is soft and pliable enough to follow door edges, bumper curves, fender arches, and mirror housings without lifting or creasing. One smooth, gap-free seal across every panel shape.
  • [TAPE ALREADY ATTACHED 2 in 1 – FULL PANEL COVERED IN 60 SECONDS] – Yellow crepe masking tape is pre-bonded to the film edge. No fumbling with separate rolls. Position, unfold, done. One person can mask an entire vehicle in minutes. Works with HVLP spray guns, rattle cans, and paint robots.

I used these to cover the walls while I had the popcorn ceiling removed. I have removed popcorn from a ceiling before and it is one of the messiest home remodel projects that I have done. I was able to tape this roughly 2 feet down from the ceiling and it reached all the way down to the floor. I also used a drop cloth on the floor as I was too concerned about slipping if I used this on the floor as well. I did think about it, but decided against it. The only issue that I had was with the tape. I am sure that it is strong enough to hold onto the metal or glass of a car, but they tended to come loose from part of the wall. I laid a piece of painters tape in conjunction with the tape on thes sheets. That held it just fine and I had no issues. When the ceiling was done, these easily pulled down and wrapped up for the bin. These worked ok good for me and I am glad that I ordered them

Great for Masking Exterior Windows

[Size: 59 Inch]
I ordered the three pack while painting the outside of my house because I had a lot of windows to mask off. Having multiple rolls on hand meant I could keep moving without stopping to piece together different materials. The 59 inch width was a nice middle ground that covered most windows without being awkward to handle. The built in tape is what makes this worth buying. I could stick the tape along the trim and unfold the plastic in one step, which made prep go much faster than using separate rolls of tape and plastic. The film also clung well to the glass, and the tape peeled away cleanly when I was done without leaving behind sticky residue.I also liked that the three pack gave me enough material to finish the project with some left over for future touch ups. The biggest pros were the time savings, clean paint lines, easy application, and good overall value compared to buying everything separately. The only downside is that the plastic is still fairly thin, so you need to be a little careful not to snag it while working around ladders or sharp corners. For masking windows during exterior painting, though, it worked really well and made the whole job less of a hassle.

A Masking Film That Saves Hours on Large Paint Projects

[Size: 35 Inch]
During a recent exterior painting project, this masking film became one of the most valuable supplies I used. I live in a wildfire zone, so I first coated all exposed wood with an intumescent primer intended to slow ignition. After the trim received its finish coat, I needed to protect that completed work before spraying the surrounding walls. The soffit was the difficult area. It extends a couple of feet from the wall, which is far too wide for ordinary masking tape alone. I first created a precise paint line with a quality edge tape, then applied this pre-taped film over it. Once the clean boundary was established, I could move quickly without worrying about placing every inch perfectly. The plastic unfolded across the soffit, clung to the surface, and covered a broad area with very little effort. The attached tape is capable of serving as the actual edge mask, and it adheres firmly while still removing cleanly. I preferred using separate precision tape for the final line because that let me work faster and with greater confidence, but the film itself was fully capable of handling both jobs when needed. The electrostatic cling is especially helpful on overhead and vertical surfaces. Instead of hanging loosely or requiring constant adjustment, the film settles against the area being protected. Its treated surface also holds overspray rather than allowing dried paint to flake back onto a fresh finish during removal. That is a meaningful advantage when using an HVLP or airless sprayer.I use a masking film roller and cutter, and that tool makes the process even faster. The roll fed smoothly through the dispenser, cut cleanly, and unfolded without turning into an unmanageable sheet of plastic. The 35-inch width was well suited to soffits, trim, windows, doors, and other areas where standard tape provides nowhere near enough coverage. This is not the least expensive masking option, but that comparison misses the real value. Anyone painting an exterior understands how much time goes into preparation. A product that reduces masking time while protecting finished surfaces can easily save more than its purchase price in labor and avoided cleanup. It conforms well around corners and uneven transitions.I am giving this masking film four stars. It is easy to apply, versatile, clingy, cleanly removable, and extremely effective at controlling overspray across large areas.

Offers good protection and sticks well

[Size: 26 Inch]
I used this plastic sheeting for spraying paint in the interior of my house and it worked as described. The tape sticks good to multiple types of surfaces including glass and bare wood. It left a nice straight fine line with almost no bleed through. When applying make sure to press down on the entire tape area to make sure it's securely attached. After it's attached pull the plastic on the opposite side to flatten out the plastic. The plastic clings nicely the surface, it will move in the wind but I wouldn't be painting if it's windy anyways. The plastic is thin and lightweight but does protect surfaces from overspray and is durable enough for what it's designed to do.Overall a good value for the amount that you get nad is easy to install as long as you stay out of the wind.

One of the better painters tapes that we have usedOne of the better painters tapes that we have used

[Size: 17 Inch, Size: 17 Inch]
Review of ”JMI BASIC Pre-Taped Masking Film for Car Painting – 3 Pack Painters Plastic Sheeting...":(Please refer to my reviewing guidelines at the bottom of the page). My wife and I like to do most of our projects ourselves rather than hiring out and painting is one of them. When I was young I took classes on automobile restoration and painting in a professional paint-booth and since that time we've painted everything from houses to boats. As with many projects, preparation is key for good results on a painting project and good quality painters tape is critical for a no-bleed no over-spray job. We've now used this masking tape and it's performed very well forming around corners, sticking, preventing bleed under, and very importantly, being cleanly removed. The 17" width of plastic is a very handy size for any project that is being rolled or brushed. It's much easier to apply than the wider sizes that can tend to stretch and cause issues forming around corners and odd shapes correctly. There are many many options on the market for Painters tape with pre-applied plastic and this is one of the better ones that we have used.My responsibility as an Amazon Vine Reviewer:Considering the Amazon rules/regulations for being a Vine Member It is obvious that it is very important to Amazon that the person doing the review has indeed inspected, tested, used the product as well as being aware of the competitive situation of the market segment. This is so it can be fairly compared and reviewed whether good, bad, average, or anywhere in all of the grey area between. One thing that I wish were better defined by Amazon is exactly what each star should represent from 1 to 5 so that every Vine member would use the same guide in that regard. So, to let you know the guide that I use, I include it as follows:I always start off considering that average is 3 stars, and an average rating to me is:The product was correctly represented in the ad.The manufacturing quality is as expected. The product performed as intended. The product operating/user guide if needed is helpful. The product is priced accordingly. Then after inspection, measuring, testing, using, wearing, or whatever is requiredI add or subtract from the average as follows:Subject to additional stars:Additional product features not expected that are useful.Manufacturing quality/performance above what was stated or expected.Included guides and/or useful information that is beyond the norm.Product pricing highly competitive for a superior product.Subject to fewer stars:The product was misrepresented in the ad.Manufacturing quality/performance below what was stated or expected. No useful guide or understandable user information when required.Product pricing is on the high side considering quality, features, or the market.I hope this review helps you while making your purchase decision.all the best,dr

This is really a clever product and makes cleanup post painting much easier. Honestly due to it's sheer huge size it also makes protecting your floors and covering every square inch really simple. If you tape on one side of the room and simply stretch the plastic sheeting to the other side then installing this floor protector is super easy. If you had a 12x12 room you would only need to tape at each side wall and then tape them together in the middle and it would cover the entire space. So, I was very pleased with this tape. The tape stuck easily to my tile, but at the same time it wasn't so strong that it was hard to remove when I was done with my project. The yellow tape makes it easy to see where you are installing this, how far off the wall you are or how far up the wall you are. The yellow color makes it easier to determine what adjustments you need to make as you tape this down to the floor. The plastic sheeting that you pull out, makes it super easy to protect your floor, your windows, your furniture, or really anything else you want to protect while you are painting. The only thing I would suggest is be careful that you don't allow the tape to touch the plastic sheeting when you are attaching the yellow tape to the floor. However, that isn't the fault of the product, it just lies in the responsibility of the installer to pay close attention. This product comes easily off the roll and you simply run your finger down the tape to secure it. If I am being nit picky the tape could have been, for my purposes, a little stronger. As I walked on this over the course of several days and painted, I noticed I had to be a little careful not to pull or stretch the plastic sheeting as I walked around because it would pull up the yellow tape against the wall in spots. In addition, when I installed it and had to cut it at different intervals I did have a few jagged edges but once I got some nice sharp scissors I was able to cut very neat straight lines. I thought it was great how the plastic sheeting clung to my floor. The static cling aspect of it kept any drips or overspray from seeping into any cracks or under the sheeting since it all clung to the location it was placed. Cleanup was also a breeze. Simply pull up the plastic sheeting, the tape comes up with it, roll it into a ball, and throw it all in the trash. No paint drips and no fuss. So, overall I am really pleased with this product and I would definitely use it again in the future. This large roll covers so much square footage. It sure saved me some time in the long run. I do recommend this pre-taped plastic sheeting.

Prepping - a step you don't want to skip!!Prepping - a step you don't want to skip!!

[Size: 59 Inch, Size: 59 Inch]
Overall, Very pleased with this pre-taped painters plastic!!It has been such an asset during our remodeling projects since it arrived earlier this month. We first painted the ceiling with a sprayer. This tape did a fantastic job of preventing the paint from causing issues on the wall below that we were not repainting. When we switched rooms and were painting the walls we removed the tape and reused it to cover the windows and doors! It worked Wonderfully!!! I love how it worked out with covering our tall windows and trim while I was painting the walls. Again a nice crisp line around the trim when we removed it. No tearing of the paint... it stayed on the wall as we removed the tape from the trim. No bleed through under the tape. The trim was clean. You may spend some time in prep. But that is nothing in comparison to the time it would take to clean up if you didn't.This is a true asset and step you don't want to skip.We also had a small metal project to do on an old washing machine that had a rust spot. The tape stuck well and removed leaving a nice crisp line on the metal as well.I did some samples on plastic, wood and glass. Each left the same wonderful results.I appreciate the clear zipper style bag that the product comes in. I keep the unused portion stored in the bag. Having the zipper helps to prevent dust from collecting on the plastic which could cause issues during painting. We will be back for more!!!~~~~~my notes from unboxing:Comes in a zipper style handled bag to carry and store your masking tape and film.Sticks to a wide array of materials Including wood plastic ceramic paper fabric Glass And moreGive us a nice crisp line.

Excellent Quality Pre-Taped Painting Masking Film --- Includes 3M Scotch Brand Masking TapeExcell...

[Size: 35 Inch, Size: 35 Inch]
Full disclosure... I haven't used this pre-taped masking film yet, and when I do, it will be used on the exterior of a house, initially to mask around two garage doors when I repaint those doors. I'll be applying the masking tape to the top and side door weather-seals, and I'll extend the masking film away from there to protect the weather-seals, door frames and surrounding walls from paint over-spray.Although I haven't actually used this product yet, I have checked it out thoroughly, testing the adhesive properties and ease of removal after 24 hours. What I found is high quality 3M Scotch brand masking tape, which provides very good adhesion and clean removal without any adhesive residue. The attached 35 inch wide plastic sheeting is thin, but with some care it's adequately durable, tear resistant and impermeable. Each of these three 65 foot long and 35 inch wide rolls of plastic sheeting provide a generous amount protection at a good price. Priced at $15.98 for three rolls (at the time of this review), this product is an economical and convenient alternative to fumbling with individual masking tape and plastic sheeting to protect adjacent areas during painting or other work that involves over-spray or debris. The only caveat I can think of involves the 0.5 mil (0.135mm) thickness (very thin) of the plastic sheeting. Generally speaking, the plastic is adequate, but some degree of care is necessary to prevent tearing, especially when working with or near sharp objects, corners, rough surfaces (such as stucco), etc. There are also advantages to the thin plastic, such as its ability to cling to itself (electrostatic cling) and some surfaces (especially metal surfaces), which can make application of the product simpler. The bottom line for me is that this is a good product, and I was surprised to discover that it included such a high quality, brand name (3M Scotch) masking tape. I have no regrets ordering this product, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more if I need it in the future.About my Amazon Vine review:Vine is an invitation-only program that selects trusted Amazon reviewers to order and receive a limited variety of products for free in exchange for honest, thorough, unbiased reviews.
