Come prepared for some time assembling.These are small table lamps (around 20-inches tall, with a roughly 4 inch wide base), so they're good for a guest room or small shelf accent, as they're simple enough, design-wise to fit almost any decor. The "cracked wood" texture is a little odd on first glance, but softens a bit when the shade is assembled. The base with and the lamp's light weight make them pretty stable.Speaking of assembly, come prepared to build them.You'll have to guide the cord through the lamp bases, and then tighten the sockets into place. The come the linen shades.You'll need to unroll them, set up the wire loops, and then try to get the Velcro to fasten in a way that's not too distracting, before attaching it to the socket an tightening the ring around it. Have an E26 bulb handy, as they're not included.The rotary on/off switch works well, and requires minimal effort. The positioning may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or an impairment, so having this on a switch (or a foot-operated button) maybe the way to go for an elderly or physically-challenged person.Not terrible, and not great, but an OK set of two lamps for the price.
