I’m very happy with this bathroom exhaust fan. The 100 CFM airflow does a good job clearing moisture and odors, and it runs noticeably quieter than many bathroom fans I’ve used in the past. At 1.0 sones, the noise level is low enough that it doesn’t become distracting.The integrated LED light is another nice feature. The 1300-lumen output provides plenty of light for the bathroom, and having three color temperature options makes it easy to choose the look I prefer. The built-in nightlight is also a thoughtful addition for nighttime trips to the bathroom without needing the full light.I particularly liked the installation design. The ability to install it without attic access makes this a much more practical option for an existing bathroom where getting above the ceiling isn’t convenient. The white finish also has a clean, simple appearance that blends well with the ceiling.Overall, this fan combines good ventilation, quiet operation, and useful lighting features in one unit. For anyone replacing an older bathroom exhaust fan and looking for something quieter with better lighting, this is a solid upgrade.

Super quiet even when compared to some of the more expensive name brands out there know for quiet operations. Works great and felt as if it was a great deal for the price. Installation was relatively simple if you’re handy and have access to a joist in your ceiling. The light provides enough brightness for ambience but will not give off enough to be the only light source in you bathroom. Overall I highly recommend it.

Too noisy for what is promised

I've been on a series of fan replacements in the house, where I have four 7.5" fans and one 8.5" fan, all builder OEM. This review is about the 8.5 x 8.5" fan, which is of a different class than the 7.5" fans. I'm reviewing it as a DIY project, but also in terms of performance and appearance, because I did get it installed.The steps to install the fan are the same as the smaller ones, but this one just seems nicer, more solid. I took the whole thing apart at the kitchen table. I'd recommend taking pictures if you worry you can't reassemble it. Anyway, the power-box is a good size, firmly affixed. You'll need a stress-relief device of some sort. The hole for wiring is not sharp, but I still would add a stress-relief collar of some sort, whether metal or plastic.In the box they include a template for the wallboard hole, whether you're installing new or replacing. I had to cut my hole open a bit to accommodate the fan's box, which needs to be flush with the wallboard. Everything went according to plan, almost. I first attached the exhaust hose to the baffle, which I had removed from the box. Then I attached the wiring to the power box and hooked the wires up. The power box closed up and was secured with a screw. Nice. The box went up through the ceiling hole just fine, but I was horrified to find that the exhaust pipe was on the opposite side of the box as it had been on the original fan. Harrumph! I didn't have enough hose to go around the box, so I took a trip to the hardware store for a coupler and some hose. After that, and after screwing the box in place, I was ready to insert the fan mechanism into the box. It went well, but it was a challenge to get the two vertical screws in place, working directly below looking straight up and unable to see what I was doing. But I ultimately managed, and the screws finally got tight and the fan was in place! I had dropped both screws only twice. The third screw is important; don't miss it.Note that the box needs three screws into the joist, with at least one screw at least halfway up the side. There is a hole there, and it needs a firm screw. My house presented a challenge, though, because I have I-beam joists. I had to attach a small board up on the side of the beam to give me a solid place for that third screw. You won't have that problem if you have solid joist boards.At this point, the fan works, and it is MUCH quieter than the OEM fan, which was just irritating to use. Attaching the light was not a challenge; the light panel attaches with metal wings just like most fan grilles. The light is rather yellow, so maybe 2500K or 3000K, and not terribly bright. But the whole thing looks nice up there. It doesn't look like a fan grille, it looks like a sleek light fixture.Bottom line: This is a nice fan that is not too hard to install, although your location may present its own challenges like mine did. It is quiet, as fans go, and its light fixture is attractive. It doesn't look like a fan when installed. I can recommend!

Overall, a really great fan and a good price for upgrading your current exhaust fan. I am happy with the results but it certainly was quite an effort to get it installed and not to the fault of the manufacturer but due to my existing setup and inexperience with installing an exhaust fan.The first thing that is important to know is that you will need access to the duct work. That most likely means you need to get into the attic area which I was replacing my upstairs fan, so I had no issue getting into the attic.The second thing to be aware of is that the duct size for this unit is 4". My existing duct was only 3" and also was a hard (rigid) pipe and not flexible or semi-rigid. This required a trip to the hardware store to get a reducer from 4" to 3" (unless I wanted to replace the entire run of pipe) and then I also got some extra pipe just in case, but that was an added cost on my end to complete the installation.My previous fan box was also smaller than this one, but they give you a template for the ceiling to cut an 8.5 x 8.5 hole and mine was close to that, so all I had to do was score the ceiling with a box knife and then it opened right now, or you could use a drywall knife.Overall, with no experience in this type of install, it probably took about 3 hours to complete and honestly, it sucked because the attic was hot and insulation was everywhere HOWEVER, this was not on the fan itself but just the nature of the install and my previous existing duct work.After all is said and done - honestly, I am really happy with the fan. It is SUPER QUIET. I honestly thought that it was broken at first when I installed it because it took a second for me to even hear the fan running. Even with how quiet it is, it works VERY WELL. Our bathroom is not very big so I am not sure how well this would do in a larger bathroom, but it vents very quickly and takes out the steam from the shower in no time. I also love how it has different settings with the lights and very easy to change just by hitting off/on quickly. The only minor complaint I have is that if you turn the lights off/on and don't wait long enough, it will still change the light color, so that function is just a little finnicky, but works well overall.I would say overall, I am very happy with the final product. It certainly works very well. It is whisper quiet and it seems to be very well made. I am confident it will last a long time and honestly, I hope I never have to do it again in the near future!
