I just got a brand new chair with squarish wooden legs, and even though I used the "round" version of this product, they still work absolutely beautifullly.This is one of those products that is 5,000% better than the default option!The chair that I purchased came with four little felt pads with adhesive on one side. Would they have worked? Maybe, sorta. Those felt pads sometimes stick okay, but often are found stuck to random clothing or walls or shoes if they fall off. It's just really unpredictible whether the "OEM" sticky felt pads will really do the job of protecting floors and assisting the sliding of furniture as needed on hard floors, or will it just fall into the "too much trouble to do anything about it" category?Skip that entire scene! These chair leg silicone booties are perfect. Chair booties FTW! You can see how perfectly they worked for my chair leg. The fit is snug and secure.No future worries, keeping an eye out for little pieces of mystery felt that fell off of SOME piece of furniture somewhere.With these silicone floor protector chair booties you are GOLDEN!

These do a good job protecting the floor, and the felt bottom allows chairs to slide smoothly and quietly. The silicone is also soft and stretchy, so installation is easy.The problem is the fit. Despite being described as universal, I found that they really work best on straight, round chair legs. On angled, tapered, or differently shaped legs, they do not grip particularly well and can move or come off.Good concept and good floor protection, but the fit is much less universal than I expected.

These are a substantial upgrade from the peel-and-stick pads I had been using. The plastic sleeve helps keep them from slipping off without you noticing, which is exactly the problem that can lead to scratches on hardwood floors. I wish I had these earlier, because then I probably would not have scratches on my new hardwood floor. The plastic is very stretchy, so it can fit around a somewhat larger leg. My wife and I just finished refinishing our hardwood floors. We've been trying to dial in the right decor for some rugs to protect the floors in major traffic areas, but until we've got areas with moving chairs protected, we need to prevent scratches from occurring.In general my wife and I are pretty happy with these hardwood floor protective booties. Within the advertised size-range, they fit our smaller chairs very well and look great, however the larger chairs that were at the maximum of the size range (1 13/16"), they began to split within a couple of days. If your chairs are 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" you should be fine. When on the right-sized chair leg, the quality of these booties - notably the heavy-duty felt foot - is impressive. Not only do they perform well, they also complement the appearance. They look fairly discreet but also provide a hint of modern, sensible class. If your goal is to protect your flat-surface floors (hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, etc.) these will do the job.
