I have a number of Makita tools so I have a lot of Makita style 18V batteries. Since I have plenty of batteries I thought this work light would be a handy item to have as well. All of my 18V Makita and Makita style batteries I have tried in this tool work just fine. It has a simple bulb socket in the top and comes with two sizes of LED bulbs. These don't put off as much light as my other Makita battery powered work lights that have a large panel of LEDs but these do put out a surprising amount of light. Even the smallest bulb puts out enough light on its own to illuminate an area enough for me to work on something with the breaker off and now other light in the room. Getting the light base positioned correctly is the main thing because the light source is not moveable on these, unlike my other work lights. Overall I think these lights are good quality and a fair value.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THESE ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH MAKITA BATTERIES!I tried it on a couple of other battery types that I have and it will not work so make sure you're only ordering this if you have Makita batteries. The bulbs are very simple and plastic. One is slightly larger than the other which is nice if you want a little less light in one room. I was actually surprised how bright both of them got. They are advertised as being 1500 lumen, 15W Light bulbs and I can tell you they are all of that! Not only will these be great if the power goes out but they are also very handy for portable lighting on job sites and other locations. It comes with a built-in USB type-c charging port which is easy to plug in and use. Overall it is a simple concept but one that works really well and can be a game changer in the right situation. My only complaint would be that it didn't come with two base units so I could use both bulbs at the same time! Overall I would give it 5 out of 5 stars.
