These work well, represent a good value and are a good choice for smaller projects. I don't believe these will hold up over time, but rarely does any bit do so.

I used this diamond drill bit with my Makita angle grinder to bore a hole in a Petoskey stone (fossilized colony coral). I did this handheld. I held the stone in one hand and the grinder in the other hand. I dipped the stone repeatedly in water. As the hole progressed it provided a water reservoir so dipping didn't need to be done as often. It cut cleanly in about 2 minutes with minimum pressure applied to the bit. The diamond chips on the bit are impressive in size and number. There is no obvious wear to the bit after cutting the hole. There was probably at least one diamond chip that go embedded in the hole in the stone as you can see a spiral scratch to the shaft of the bit which happened when the cut was complete the stone rode up the shaft. I cut a very clean hole with almost no chipping. I will try it on glass next.

I have never had a drill bit for use on an angle grinder. In fact, I didn't know they existed for bits this size, so I was not sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this bit. It drilled a 1/4" hole in mortar in short order, and the hole was accurate. Drilling a hole this way should give a more accurate hole than a hammer drill or SDS drill, since it doesn't have the impaction to cause irregularities. For some jobs it may not matter, but if you want a clean, accurate hole, this bit does the job. The only down side I see is that the bit is rather short (35 mm or 1-3/8"), so if you are using a wall anchor, make sure the hole is deep enough for the anchor. The bit is long enough to go through the hollow portion of a brick. The wall on the hollow part of a concrete block is around 1-3/8", so it should work there, also, unless the blocks are older and may be thicker. If you need a longer diamond bit, go up to the larger sizes, which are 40 mm long, >1,5".

Slow and steady wins the race

1 3/8” diamond hole saw is a strong performer with ceramic shower tile, or any ceramic tile for that matter.My initial impression of this hole saw was surprised, it looks and feels like a well made tool.If you’re tackling a kitchen or bathroom remodel it’s the perfect size for three handle shower valve installations. It’s also good for kitchen faucet installs on marble, granite or other similar countertops.The key to longevity with these tools is speed. Keep your speed slow and steady, let the tool do the work, don’t bully it. Keep it cool and lubricated with water and it will last a long time.The diamond coatings on these are coarse & heavy. Probably twice as much material as I’ve seen on expensive heavy duty diamond sawzall blades I’ve used for cutting cast iron. So I’d say these will last as long as care is taken with their use.Do not run them fast. Speed equals heat and heat destroys bits. Always keep that in mind and this tool will always perform well.

35 mm bits for drilling holes in tiles to pass water controls/valves in a shower or for a bathtub fill tube. The 5/8 11 thread makes it very easy to install on a grinder. Hopefully you can adjust the grinding speed as you use this bit for higher cut control. The bit is well balanced and I did not experience rotational vibrations.Bit came in a very nice clear plastic cylinder with a size on it.I suggest making a small groove or alcove as a biting point for this bit to grab and not wonder off as you start cutting. Start in the alcove at and angle and work your way to be perpendicular to tile.This bit is hollow and it can heat up. There is no shame to make your bit last longer by cooling it several times as you make holes. Just have some water accessible to dip in for 5 to 10 seconds as you "drill". Heat is the number one reason these bits fail. Keep it cooler and it will be very durable.The bit has elongated slots on both sides where you can put a small screwdriver to eject cut material as needed.It cut tiles very easily and stayed intact. I am fine with the cutting construction but be aware of the 4 locations on the rim when it dips in. I am not sure of their purpose.One very nice feature is the diamond coverage basically tell me when I am about to exit a standard thickness tile. It acts as a depth gauge.If possible use at lower speed and do not force the bit. Slow and steady and keep is cool.The bit is fairly priced and the function perfectly for drilling tiles.

I'm completely satisfied with this annular drill. It's just as the manufacturer claims, performs well in my tests, and at a good price.What arrives is a little plastic jar with a screw-on lid, holding the annular drill bit (Pic 1). What's inside is nothing more or less than the bit you expect (Pic 2). In my case, I got the 1-3/8" size, since this is the most common size of hole required for faucets and such in the US.The bit is exactly what one would expect, a hardened steel body about 2-1/2" long, with the diamond cutting surface bonded to both the inside and outside at the business end. At the tail end is a standard 5/8"-11 female thread, which is compatible with most angle grinders and many other drive tools. The thread runs truly axial to the bit's body, so the cutter turns true without any detectable wobble.The O/D of the cutter measured at 1.38" (35mm) as expected (Pic 3), and the I/D measured at 1.17" (30mm) as seen in Pic 4. The threaded end is shown in Pic 5.I tested the cutter by drilling a hole through an offcut of 3/4" marble. This is my most likely target application. The drilling process is shown in the attached movie clip. The drilling was quick and easy, with no significant tear-out. The resulting hole (Pic 6) measured at 1.4", which is definitely close enough given that I was drilling freehand with an angle grinder. One would obviously use a drill press or other better drive tool is possible for a real world application, but the hole I got was still close enough to perfect that the 20 thou oversize would be concealed by any plumbing fixture.The hole I got was, of course, not perfectly perpendicular to the surface (cf angle grinder), but the interior surface finish was perfect. Pics 7 and 8 show the plug resulting from the hole still stuck in the cutter (Pic 7), and placed in the hole for scale (Pic 8). Even the waste was well formed.All told, I'm very pleased with this cutter. It definitely does just what I need it to do. In my test, I did find that the plug which was generated stuck solidly in the bit when I finished cutting the hole. This wasn't a big problem, but I thought that I'd mention it. The bit has slots down the side through which you can probably push out plugs like this. I just dismounted the bit and punched it out. It took only 25 seconds to drill the hole in my test, and the hole was more than good enough, even with a sub-optimal drive tool, and with this being my first try with this cutter. Compared to what it would have taken using lesser tools, it's clear that this bit paid for itself in the first use. Highly recommended.
