This box came with everything for mounting outside and my husband did so with little effort. We have had majored storms and it handled them well with no leaking or damage . So three months in and it still looks brand new seems very durable.First-ever money this is a very large steel box, definitely a good bargain.

This enclosure is mostly steel with some plastic features. Compared to all plastic cabinets of this type, it is far superior to any I have worked with. However, as steel cabinets/enclosures go, it is a good one, but mid-range. For example, the door is thin enough with folded but not full welded edges that it can readily tweak/twist under regular usage loads as shown in my video clip, and that impacts the seating of the door gasket and that in turn impacts the weather resistance. The lock is a single point cam lock with a standard triangular cabinet tang key. The hinges are real metal hinges, but they screw on with all screw heads externally accessbile. While there is a grounding bond from the door to the chassis, the backplane sits on painted studs with no pre-made bonding point and the backplane is fairly thin metal. Only one cabinet key is supplied (but it is a standard style and works with any triangle cabinet key). There is an AC fan pre-installed and set up to run on US 120 volts via a two-prong NEMA 5-15 style plug. The side vents are shrouded and have screen inserts for insect resistance. There are several mounting options and hardware for them included -- both flat wall and post. For the price point you are getting good value and the enclosure can be exposed to rain and harsh weather. The painted finish is well executed and covers both interior and exterior surfaces completely.

Product Design and Structure* Cold-Rolled Protective Chassis: This rugged IP65-rated outdoor enclosure is crafted from heavy-gauge, rust-resistant cold-rolled steel designed to withstand extreme weather, driving rain, and dust.* Smart Climate Control Stack: Engineered with an automated active cooling system containing a low-noise side exhaust fan, a manually adjustable thermostat, and dual mesh-screened side vents to prevent condensation and overheating.* Complete Out-of-the-Box Hardware: Ship-ready for immediate deployment, the enclosure comes outfitted with a removable internal mounting plate, a secure key-lock system, and comprehensive hardware for both wall mounting and heavy-duty pole/strap mounting.Strengths* Zero Additional Parts Required: This is easily the most complete mounting enclosure on the market. It includes the mounting rails, pole straps, cable grommets, fan, and thermostat right out of the box, saving you from making multiple hardware store trips to piecemeal a system together.* Dream Setup for Astrophotography: It works phenomenally well as a central control hub for a backyard observatory. Even if it is massive overkill, it provides an incredibly secure, climate-controlled, and bone-dry home for sensitive mini-PCs, power distribution blocks, and USB hubs.* Automated Temperature Regulation: The thermostat-controlled fan is brilliant. It automatically exhausts heat when the sun beats down on the metal, keeping your delicate computing and power equipment running at safe temperatures without needing constant manual monitoring.Concerns* Heavy Physical Profile: Because it is built from industrial cold-rolled steel and fully loaded with climate electronics, the box is heavy and bulky. You will want to make sure your mounting post, pier, or wall stud is highly secure before bolting it down.VerdictWhile this heavy-duty electrical box might be extreme overkill for simple DIY backyard projects, its unmatched build quality and fully inclusive hardware package make it worth every penny. For astronomers, solar installers, or security network builders who want a bulletproof, climate-controlled sanctuary for their outdoor electronics, this enclosure is a stellar, top-tier solution.---Rating Scale: 1 star is unsafe, 3 stars is average, 5 stars means no room for improvement.

Folks, I deploy about a dozen enclosures like this every couple of months for surveillance cameras, cellular modems & communicaation nodes. Of all enclosures I've ever purchased, this kit is the most complete seup I've ever seen or used.Normally, I'd have to add louvers and vents, a forced-air ventilation system and at least some measure of filtration...This enclosure includes ALL of those elements, and they're already installed & ready to connect to mains power (see photos) Everything but the cable glands & penetration points/holes to enter the enclosure is already done for me! This saves about an hour of fabrication, plus fitting the proper sized fans, filters, power supply & implementing a temperature controller...Already, half of this enclosure's cost has been absorbed by the included elements. Simply put, I can focus on installing the devices that are going to live in this box - what a good feeling!I was pleased to find that the door lock/latch was also common. It is configured with the staandard triangular key that we're used to seeing - also having several spares on hand. The appearance of this enclosure is a little different, though. The white air inake aperatures on each side stand out boldly. Most of our enclosures are a solid machinery grey. Honestly, I liked the look of it and decided not to repaint it. The peaked roof/top of the enclosure is unique as well. The peak will shed water better than the flat top enclosures I normaally use. There's a lot to like about this enclosure. I can see purchasing many more of these for the convenience of being ready to deploy.Inside the enclosure, there's the standard removable back-plane, but on this model, a horizontal shelf is included...Once again, a step saved in fabrication! Also notable are the pre-installed intake filters (see photo). A rubber seal surrounds the periphery of the door and there's even the customary grounding jumper to the enclosure body. I know, this is industry standard stuff, but it's nice to see that no details were overlooked. The mounting scheme is equally as nice...T-nuts that connect the mounting brackets into chaannels on the rear of the enclosure, without any penetration of the enclosure walls. Other than the air intake vents and exhaust vents above the door, there are no holes in the enclosure...unless I put them there myself. A lovely blank slate for my work. The steel that comprises the enclosure is ~16ga and is well coated to deminish the rusting effects from living outdoors. It's a very rigid, sturdy box.Overall, this enclosure is an excellent value. If you care about your work and care about quality, you will enjoy the accoutriments/features of this box as much as I do. Yes, we are going to purchase many more of these. I'm happy to have discovered this product by "Yhhdjc" - don't hesitate to get one of these for your next outdoor installation. Two thumbs up!

This is a great box and honestly feels underpriced for what you are getting. I wish I had found these sooner, and I will be purchasing more of them. The box feels solid and well made. The steel construction gives it a sturdy feel, and the size is practical for holding electronics, wiring, controls, or other outdoor equipment. I am using it for wifi points around our property. Prior to this I had them in small waterproof outlet boxes and they had been known to overheat. This solves that problem.I really like that it has active cooling built in. Having the fan and thermostat already included makes this much more useful for electronics that need some airflow, especially in hot weather. The gasket around the door also seems well designed, and the vents have screens to help keep debris out. I would still install it thoughtfully depending on exposure, but so far it is keeping the rain out just as my smaller ones did.The mounting setup is another nice feature. The external mounting rails make installation easier,My final thoughts are that this is a sturdy, well designed outdoor electrical enclosure with features you usually expect to pay more for. Between the cooling fan, gasketed door, screened vents, and quality feeling construction, it is an excellent value.

As someone who works with networking equipment, I am always on the lookout for reliable outdoor enclosures that can genuinely protect sensitive electronics from the elements. This box completely exceeded my expectations.Heavy-Duty Build & WeatherproofingUnlike flimsy plastic alternatives, this cabinet is constructed from thick, solid cold-rolled steel and features a robust, key-lockable front door that inspires confidence against tampering or impact. The powder coating is thick and clean, which should hold up beautifully against brutal sun and heat. The weather sealing is excellent—the squishy continuous foam gasket creates a remarkably tight, watertight seal around the door.Smart Cooling & Design FeaturesThe standout feature is definitely the automated cooling system. Outdoor gear like PoE switches, NVRs, or routers can turn a standard sealed box into an oven. The integrated low-noise 12V exhaust fan and manually adjustable thermostat work perfectly to automatically pull out hot air while drawing cooler air through the fine-mesh screened bottom vents.Other thoughtful touches include:No-Drill External Mounting Rails: Allows you to mount the box to a wall or pole without drilling into the main cabinet, eliminating any risk of water leaks.Removable Back Plate: Makes organizing, pre-drilling, and mounting your components on the bench incredibly easy before taking the box out to the install site.Excellent Pole Kit: The included steel-strap clamps are heavy-duty and hold much tighter than the standard, cheap hardware you usually get.Final VerdictI have purchased similar outdoor enclosures in the past for nearly double the price, and none of them matched this level of build quality—nor did they include a built-in fan and thermostat system. It’s an absolute steal for the price, looks incredibly professional, and gives you plenty of room to clean up an outdoor deployment. Highly recommended!

As someone who works with networking equipment and infrastructure, I'm always looking for good solutions when electronics need to live outside. This enclosure exceeded my expectations and feels much more substantial than many of the generic outdoor boxes available online. The first thing I noticed was the construction. The steel cabinet feels solid and well built, not flimsy or thin. Once mounted, it inspires confidence that expensive equipment inside will be protected from weather, accidental bumps, and everyday outdoor abuse. The integrated cooling system is what really sets this enclosure apart. Outdoor networking gear, cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and similar equipment can generate a surprising amount of heat, especially in places like Florida. The built-in fan and adjustable thermostat help move hot air out of the enclosure automatically, which is a huge advantage over sealed boxes that can turn into ovens during summer.I also appreciate the thoughtful design details. The removable mounting plate makes equipment installation easier, and the cable entry system helps create a clean, professional-looking installation. The included wall and pole mounting hardware adds flexibility depending on where you're deploying equipment. The weather sealing appears well executed. The door gasket creates a tight seal, and the vent system is designed to allow airflow while still protecting the interior from rain, dust, insects, and debris. The size is also well chosen. It's large enough to house networking equipment, controllers, power supplies, and other electronics without becoming overly bulky or difficult to mount.Pros: heavy-duty steel construction, integrated cooling fan and thermostat, weather-resistant design, lockable enclosure, flexible mounting options, removable equipment plate, good cable management options, excellent for networking and security equipmentCons: larger and heavier than plastic enclosures, but that's part of what makes it feel durable and secureOverall: this is an excellent outdoor electronics enclosure. Whether you're protecting networking equipment, security camera hardware, solar components, automation controllers, or communications gear, it provides the weather protection, ventilation, and flexibility needed for a professional-quality installation. As a systems administrator, this is the kind of enclosure I'd feel comfortable trusting with valuable equipment outdoors.

This box has the standard type of lock/latch for these types of boxes, is VERY well sealed, and is made of some very strong steel. The powder coating is very thick as well, the beauty of it will last a long long time, even in South Texas heat/sun! The thermostatic fan is a very nice feature that seems to work well. I have a few of these types of boxes that i paid nearly 2x as much for, and none of them are of equal quality, and they didn't come with a fan and thermostat either. This is not only a killer deal, but a far better product at the same time. It's of ample internal size, and i can move the shelf easilly, so i can make it suit whatever equipment i want to put in there. Overall, it's a really beautiful unit as well, when i put this in place at a customer they'll be so happy with the look, and I'll be even happier with the ease of mooting, especially pole mounting, as it comes with super strong clamps, better than I've seen before to hold it to a pole as well as what's needed to attach to a flat wall. This one is getting used by a gate, I'm filling it with ubiquiti equipment, for wifi, switching and gate/intercom control, it all fits with room to spare, which is amazing. It's also great that i can have it all setup, and ready to plug into their gate box so all i have to do on site is mount the wifi antenna and put a cable clang on their gate controller for the control wires. I'm really happy with the price and quality of this, it helps make my installs look a few steps above others.
