This bulb works perfectly for my dining room pendant light above the dining table. I needed a bulb that was less bare bulb glaring in your face and more smooth soft warm light. It's sturdy and made from a metallic mirror dipped glass. Prior to this bulb, the light was just in our face and harsh on the eyes. This is a warm soothing glow. Now it's time to upgrade to a copper fixture for some real warmth.

I ordered these two silver-topped 4W LED light bulbs to replace the one in our entryway lamp. The lamp is short and sits on a table, and the old bulb was quite noticeable, whether it was on or off. When on, it emitted an unpleasant glare, which wasn’t the welcoming impression I wanted to give guests. I hoped these bulbs would solve that problem, and they did. The lamp now emits a warm white light without any glare. It fills the area with a welcoming light and enhances the first impression. It’s a pleasant light that enhances the cute bunny lamp’s appearance. When turned off, instead of seeing a bare light bulb, you see the mirrored dome, adding character to the lamp. I installed the bulbs using a smart plug, which allows us to control the lamp by voice command. The bulbs screw in just like any other bulb and are dimmable. However, I discovered that they aren’t unbreakable. One of them rolled off the table before I could install it, fell on the floor, and shattered. Surprisingly, the material didn’t shatter like a typical incandescent bulb. Instead, it broke into pieces that lacked the sharp shards of glass I was expecting. Cleaning up the mess was easy, and fortunately, no one was injured. I believe the material is some kind of plastic. Overall, these are excellent bulbs for use in areas where glare is an issue.

Many people do not know about this kind of light bulb but in my opinion these are the only kind of bulbs you should use in a pendant type light that has a metal shade. Regular bulbs in a light like that hurt your eye when you look up at it. A sliver bowls bulb like this reflects the light back up at the shade and then out of the fixture and creates a much more pleasing experience. Since these are not widely known you need to look for bulbs this style if you want them because you don't usually see in a regular store. I have several lights in my home in which I use these and I was happy to be able to order these at a good value for the money when I stumbled across them here. The light level is consistent with a 40W bulb. The packaging is really well done on these with each bulb having it's own cozy little foam bed. Very pleased with the quality and value of these bulbs.

These are not bad, and i say that because these are very purpose-designed, such as for a reading lamp next to the couch. The mirror coating does not get shined through, it effectively cuts off light emission from the top half of the bulb, and reflects it back towards the base, hence why i said it would be GREAT in a reading lamp. They are a very natural homey color temperature and dont flicker. Maybe these would even do great above a pool table? i personally dont see a lot of use cases for these, but where they are useful, these are a REALLY good choice over standard or other LED bulbs. As ive said many times the glass enclosure screams longevity as LEDs with plastic enclosures tend to fade or cloud.
