L Brackets can be used for a million things, and also be added to some things that need support. At the local big box store, 4 of them will cost you a pretty penny. This 20 pack will last me for anything I will need them for.

You can use œâ bolts or smaller bolts with washers to do the job of mounting and holding your hardware if you donât need the strength of a œâ bolt. The 3/16â thick steel with 4 holes in the L-bracket will hold some serious weight if you are constructing something big. For me, I am adding these to my deck steps to provide additional support, as the steps are not currently adequately supported. Galvanized steel should be quite corrosion-resistant, so I expect it to last many years outdoors. The edges are smooth, so these should be easy to work with. It should be noted that in wet environments, such as marine settings or outdoor rain, the zinc coating on stainless hardware will corrode due to the dissimilar metals. You will want to use this zinc-coated hardware with this, or use insulation between the zinc and stainless steel. If you paint the surfaces or use an anti-corrosion compound, that will prevent the corrosion. A stainless bolt with these galvanized brackets will not cause corrosion in a dry environment. The stainless bolt provides a small surface area on the galvanized bracket, which will not result in fastener failure in a wet environment.

This is a review of the 20 Pack 4-Hole L Bracket for 1-5/8â Strut Channel that was priced at $39.99 at the time of this review. These are noticeably heavy-duty right out of the box. The thickness of the steel stands out immediately. They feel solid and substantial, not thin stamped brackets, which makes them suitable for more demanding projects where strength matters. The galvanized finish is well done. It has a clean, even coating and should hold up well in outdoor or exposed environments. It does not feel like something that will rust quickly, although like any galvanized part, long-term conditions will still matter. The 4-hole design is practical and gives good flexibility for mounting. It spreads loads better than simpler brackets and helps keep everything stable once bolted down. The holes are sized for 1/2 inch hardware, so make sure you have the correct bolts or washers on hand. Smaller fasteners will not work properly.Edges and finishing are decent. They are smooth enough to handle without worrying about cuts, which is important when working on larger builds or installing multiple pieces. These are best suited for projects that actually require strength, things like framing, shelving, strut channel setups, or structural support. They are likely overkill for light-duty use, but that is part of the appeal if you want something that will not flex or fail under load.Overall, these are very solid brackets with a true heavy-duty feel. The thickness, galvanizing, and overall build quality make them a good choice for long-term or load-bearing applications.
