Couldn't tell ya what happened to our fan cover, but this one worked perfectly. It installed easy enough and the price was excellent. It fit perfect and was the right size for our needs. A bright white and allows for plenty of air flow. Great product

This exhaust fan cover is comparable in quality to all the other plastic covers we’ve had. The plastic seems durable and has a nice white finish. The spring installation is the same as our other fans and easy enough.What I don’t care for is the vent spacing. Although the spacing is most likely more efficient as far as air flow is concerned, I can see too much of the fan through the cover. On the covers we currently have, the vent slats are constructed and angled differently, so when I look up, I don’t see the ugly metal fan through the cover. Since that’s basically the purpose of a cover (to cover the fan) it’s only three stars for me.The other problem is that it does not fit our fans. All our fans are original with the house built in 2005. However, I’m not 100% sure that is a problem with the cover, or if perhaps my husband missed something when he checked, and our fans are not compatible. (Since I’m not totally sure about this, it did not affect the star rating.) The mounting springs are spaced just a tad further apart than our existing cover’s springs. Consequently, the cover would not mount flush with the ceiling. We ended up putting the old cover back on.Others may have better luck, or be fine with the design, but this cover doesn't work for us.

It was large enough to to cover the opening, but the springs were too short to secure the vent cover. I exchanged the springs with the ones from the old cover, but they didn't work either. The spring mounting points are lower than on the old cover, so the springs are still just a little too short to secure the cover. Even if I had thought to measure the distance to the spring holes on the fan, there is no spring dimension shown on this product. My assumption that I could use the springs off my old cover didn't work. I ordered the "loop cover" but received the "square cover". The cover is bright white, so make sure that is what you want. The cover itself looks nice and feels like it would work nicely, if the springs would work.
