Under Cabinet Lighting Hardwired or Plug in

This is a review for the 16 inch under cabinet LED light fixture. This LED light fixture comes with a 4 foot power cord, a 2 foot linking cord, hardwired metal fitting, 3 wire twist caps, and a manual. There are some things I like about this LED light fixture and some things I don't like too much about it also.First the things I like is the 16 inch LED panel. The LED light strip inside does produce plenty of light for a kitchen countertop space, it offers an evenly light distribution with the lens cover so you don't see that LED strip line inside. The power cord and it's three prong male plug is heavy duty, grounded, and looks to be more than adequate gauge for wet areas outside and inside (like near a kitchen sink). This LED light fixture can be plugged in on either end for both the power cord or the linking cord, so you don't need to worry about if your LED light fixture is for a left or right side countertop area. The LED light fixture comes with a well written manual that gives all the specs, installation and hardwiring directions. The fastening holes on this LED light fixture's frame and it's hole cover caps are well designed offering a clean installation look. The mounting screws are also adequate length for screwing into a standard 3/4 inch thick wood cabinet underneath. With the 5 light lumens settings you get more than enough adequate lighting and brightness adjustments.Now the things I don't like about this LED light fixture. This LED light fixture has 3 wires inside for hardwire installation, these 3 wires (hot, neutral and ground) are very thin gauge and this size gauge doesn't match standard 120v AC gauge house wiring. The manual lists this LED light fixture to have the ETL Listed certification, but this certification symbol or emblem is missing on the LED light fixture's label. Because of the wire gauge and missing certification I would advise not to hardwire this LED light fixture, and think it's much safer to use the included grounded power cord instead. It's advertised to have a "75.1 inch plug-in power cord", but I received a 4 foot (48 inch) power cord (not a big deal but may be an issue for some). I notice also 5 lumen external switch on this LED light fixture seemed damaged or hard to make adjustments. Opening up this LED light fixture I was able to make an adjustment to that sliding plastic switch handle so it now functions properly. NO motion sensor for an under cabinet light. The $43 price seems a little bit high for a 16" LED light fixture you have to manually switch whenever you need countertop lighting on or off.

Easy to set up and very bright, not overly heavy, but the power cord is very heavy duty.The power cord is so heavy duty we decided to hardwire it to reduce the view of the very heavy cord.The light turns on immediately unlike the old fluorescent lights from years back.The instructions are included, printed and actually make sense. The instructions include steps for utilizing as a plug in unit or hardwired.Great unit.

I got this under cabinet light to use above my workbench in the garage. It was quick and easy to install and set up. I just put one screw through each of the two screw holes and plugged it into an outlet. All five of the various CCT color settings work exactly as they should and even though it’s only 10 W it feels pretty bright. This light comes with the option to hardwire it in, but I chose not to do so. It also comes with a short extension cord so that you can buy another one of these whites and attach them to each other in series without having to run multiple power cords.The product listing says that these LED lights will last for thousands of hours, but I’ve only used it for several hours a week over the past month. I expect it to last me for several years. This item doesn’t have any motion detecting or ability to dim the brightness, but that’s ok. I have it mounted 3 feet above my work surface, which is a 3 foot wide by 5 foot long workbench and it provides the perfect amount of light.Overall, I would recommend this product. It has more features and is less expensive than similar products that you can buy in a big box retail store. This light does exactly what it claims it will do.

This under cabinet plug-in light is a great option for getting some nice bright light in those dark areas of your kitchen. The light bar is simple to install using the supplied screws. The light strip features 5 choices for light color temp (warm, soft, natural, cool, daylight), and a local on/off switch that works whether the light is powered by the wall plug or hardwired.The light output is amazing from this 16" light bar and it nicely lights up a 24" section of countertop. The light also comes in other lengths so you can get longer or shorter units to best fit your spaces. Linking the units is easy using the included 2 foot junction cable. If installed using the hardwired option, the light is dimmable using the appropriate (triac) wall dimmer switch. Hardwiring the unit is straightforward, as long as you are comfortable with basic electrical work, and all the required hardware for connecting the unit is included.Unfortunately, there were no clips included for mounting the wires to the underside of the cabinets so you will have to provide your own, based on the power option you choice.Overall, this under cabinet light is amazing. It's much brighter than the battery powered lights, does not need constant recharging, and multiple units can be linked together. It's a great way to not only add functional light to your countertops but also gives your kitchen that high-end look.

I have one of Mscals 10in motion sensor lights I use in my closet. And I needed another similar "under cabinet" style light to use near my desk. This one seemed to fit my needs well so I decided to give it a try.The 16" size was just right for my application. Everything is straightforward and very easy to use, and mount. You don't really even need instructions. In my setup I used the provided normal plug wire, but it's nice it can be hardwired if you want also. The ability to link together with other lights is always nice too, and they provide the "jumper" cord for it.I really like the color temperature adjustment. The 5 different varieties makes it super versatile. The most Ive ever seen on a light like this is 3. It's more than bright enough for my application. And running at only 10w heat isn't a concern. It definitely makes it cost efficient as well.Overall I would say if you're looking for a good quality and great performing "under cabinet" style light with alot of color adjustment I would definitely recommend giving this one a try. I do feel like the $42.99 price was a bit high. That kinda goes for pretty much everything these days though unfortunately 😅

This is a very good quality under cabinet light that is versatile. You can either hardwire it or use it as a plug-in, which we did. (See pics) It has 5 color temperature settings, which my wife loves! 5000k-2700k. The bright cool light is perfect for food prep, and the warm yellow light is great for ambiance. It has an on/off switch as well, so if you have multiple fixtures that are on a wall switch, you can control them individually. This light is super simple to mount as well, and comes with all the necessary hardware. This is a really excellent under cabinet light! So much so that I've ordered another.
