. . . But WHAT a cover it is!!I replaced my original vent cover with this unit, that was 1/2" +/- an exact fit with the old one. Entire swap-out (not counting vacuuming of dust on fan unit) took approx 1 minute, as easy as it could be. The old unit had narrower vents -preventing prying eyes from looking thru it and admiring fan unit- while this new one ("square cover") has much wider vents, ostensibly allowing greater air flow, though this is yet to be seen. Another reviewer commented RE: bugs being able to enter this cover's design, but we'll see if it applies to us. All in all, am pleased with the unit, it adds a fresh look to the 'ol bathroom ceiling, and appears to be made of quality materials. Am also certain that guests will appreciate the improved view into the exhaust fan unit!

The only thing that stopped them before was how tight the slats were, so I knew the spacing was going to be a problem, especially here in Florida where insects and other critters abound.The first thing I did, then, was to hot-glue some netting on the inside, over the wide spaces.The listing said this cover was 9 inches, but it's more like 9.5. The extra half-inch wasn't a problem. The fact that I didn't bother to check if the spring wire was compatible with our particular vent fan model was a bit of a glitch, but thankfully some thoughtful adjustment with a pair of pliers made up for my oversight!It's securely attached, and I like how it looks.

So we bought a new house a few years ago and the bathroom vent cover has had me annoyed because it was filthy, would not come clean and was installed w screws instead of the spring clips.I got this thinking I would install it correctly, using the clips, but alas, once I got the other cover off I realized they had made a freaking mess of the fan, it was not in flush with the opening, heck it wasn’t even level. It was sitting at probably a 20* angle. The hole they cut was much too big, so the clips would never reach the edges of the hole. - which they had reinforced w 1”x2” wood ‘frame’. So, I removed the springs from the new cover - never know if I’ll have something later I could do with them.- used the old cover to align and drill holes into the new one.This cover is extremely well made, it drilled fine and was plenty thick that I was not concerned about it cracking or breaking during the process.I think it looks as good as possible considering the method of instillation.BTW, yes I am aware that the holes are not level or aligned. Properly. But I had to make sure to use the holes they had anchors in so I didn’t end up cracking the extremely thin layer of plaster they put directly on the metal venting.I think this is a good item, fairly priced and if I had another need to a vent cover, I would not hesitate to buy again. This is my review for 9"x9" Spring Bathroom Exhaust Fan Cover Vent Cover Replacement Compatible with Broan-NuTone Square Ceiling or Wall Mount Fits Models BP46 663 670 671 675 688 689 White Brand: TIHCXNY. I have a 50 CFM Broan fan with the flat cover. That is about the lowest cfm that comes from builder grade. So before I replaced it I noticed the Square Cover with the 3D shape and larger air slats and thought about giving it a try. The plastic is bright white with a shiny mirror like finish. If you stare at it you can see through it and see the fan. I don’t stare much at fans so no problem. The air flow is quite increased to the point that you can feel air coming in under the door. That didn’t occur with the old cover. The issue with this cover was that the springs would not hold it flush with the ceiling. Tried bending them, tighter and looser, just couldn’t get it tight. I even tried the old springs and had the same problem. I guess because of the thickness of the cover the springs just wouldn’t grab. So I applied two 3 inch strips of two sided clear silicone tape to the front and back edge of the cover and stuck it to the ceiling. All good. A bit of a hassle, minus two stars, problem solved.
