[Size: 100*25*10mm]
I broke my old knife sharpening stone. This works.

Good quality, not super fastGood quality, not super fast

[Size: 150*50*20mm, Size: 150*50*20mm]
I've tried this stone out on a few pieces of steel. From what I can tell the stone is quite durable, not losing grit easily or showing any signs of wear. The stone is medium grit (800 on a scale from 200-ish to 10000-ish), finer than I typically sharpen an axe to, but coarser than I like to put a good edge on a knife. Thankfully there are other stones. The first two knives I tried out were different varieties of kitchen stainless, one average, the other fairly hard. Both took a rough edge fairly easily on the stone and cleaned up nicely on a strop.I then decided to see what I could do with a NOS Ontario carbon steel butcher's knife I found at a hardware store. The factory edge was blunt, but excellent steel. The carbon steel didn't go so well. Very slow, not much bite. I was trying to see what I could do with just this stone, so working on the bevel was not really an option. But I managed to clean up the edge over the course of maybe a half hour. I feel like the stone might benefit from some breaking in, as it seemed to go better the longer I worked. Ymmv.So pretty slow compared to a diamond stone, but also affordable compared to a diamond stone. It depends what you're using this for, and in combination with what other tools. It's a good, solid, durable stone decent for softer to medium hard metals. I wouldn't recommend it for very hard steel.

Excellent Stone, Creates a Keen Edge, Boron Carbide Seems Great!

[Size: 150*50*20mm]
I am knife buff and a sharpening geek with several different sharpeners and stones in my arsenal. I did not have anything that was boron carbide up until now and I am a fan thus far! This stone is a nice size and well cut. It does an amazing job as a replacement to a diamond sharpener. The nice thing about this vs. one of those cheap diamond sharpeners that just have diamond shavings glued to a piece of metal is that, as this wears, it actually maintains its ability to sharpen vs. just wearing the glued material away. I do use some of those cheap diamond sharpeners from time to time, but I usually now run my knives against this when I hit the 800 grit stage of my process. This stone is best served by soaking in water or using some oil to help remove particles from the surface as you use it. The included rubber base is nice because it keeps the stone from moving around while you're working. This is truly as the box implies - a cost effective solution that is going to work great for most layman sharpeners. I recommend.

Very fine grit, excellent construction quality, working great

[Size: 150*50*15mm]
This sharpening stone is very nicely-made, with perfectly-square edges and flat surfaces all around with no ripples or other imperfections that I can find. It came with a rubber "shoe" that keeps it steady on a table or other flat surface while sharpening, which is a nice touch so you can use both hands instead of having to steady the stone while you work. The grit on it seems to be more fine than advertised, and this is definitely more of a polishing stone than one for sharpening or reshaping an edge.

A super hard, fast cutting stoneA super hard, fast cutting stone

[Size: 150*50*20mm, Size: 150*50*20mm]
I've used all kinds of sharpening stones but never a boron carbide stone, so I had to give this one a try. This stone is a bit different; it's extremely hard and fast cutting with some of the characteristics of a diamond stone yet it's a stone, not a piece of steel with diamond bonded to it. It came packed in foam with a rubber base. The stone has a extremely smooth finish that belies the fact that it's an 800 grit stone. My daily carry knife has a D2 steel blade. After two years of use and hand sharpening with a fine diamond hone it still had some of the machine sharpening marks on the edge from when it was new. I started hand sharpening the blade using honing fluid and the sharpening marks disappeared pretty quickly. This stone is faster cutting than most any stone I've ever used and I didn't expect it. It didn't leave a very fine edge so it took some work to get it sharpened back up, but for reestablishing an edge on a knife or chisel it'll save a lot of time and effort. This is a good addition to my sharpening stone collection, and a worthy addition for rejuvenating an edge on knives, plane blades, and chisels.

A nice mid grit sharpening stone.A nice mid grit sharpening stone.

[Size: 150*50*20mm, Size: 150*50*20mm]
I am primarily a power tool woodworker. But recently I have become reacquainted with the finesse of hand tools. (chisels and planes). I only am ready to use a few planes primarily to deal with quirky grain. This stone fills a niche in my sharpening routine. It is somewhere between grinding and honing. When I remove the bulk of metal for a primary bevel I usually just stop at 400. Then I start honing at 1000 and go to 3000 or 6000 for the secondary bevel depending on my expected use. This stone lets me finish grinding a little later, I am not an expert, but I think this is beneficial for the times where you want to delay cutting another primary bevel. At least that is where I have been doing it. This stone is my primary way of polishing the back of the iron.•Performance: It is hard to evaluate "results" since I used this stone in the middle of the process of sharpening a plane iron. I found the stone to be really handy for those kitchen knives. Previously, I've been using a 600 grit stone with steel. Now I go a little farther.•Quality: I was expecting a product that was much more crude. Instead this is a refined tool with a useful rubber holder. It is what I would hope for a water stone.•Ease of use: For me sharpening is not easy. It takes me quite a while to get good results. The stone would be a little easier to use if if were larger both for knives and planes.•Value: At $21 this is not an expensive knockoff. While not a bargain, it is instead a reasonable value for the quality.

Great knife sharpenerGreat knife sharpener

[Size: 150*50*20mm, Size: 150*50*20mm]
I have bought a few different sharpening stones from Amazon before, and they are all okay. This one is pretty great. It's beauty is in its simplicity. The way I can tell if it's a good stone is by initially sharpening my knife to the sharpest I can get it and see if using the stone makes it worse, the same, or better. I am a knife sharpening nerd and I love having my blades razor sharp. If it can't take her off my hand / arm then it's not sharp enough. Hey sharpened up my everyday carry knife and got it to where I could take hair off my hand. I then proceeded to use this sharpening stone to see if it made it any sharper or less sharp or the same. I'm happy to say that it stayed the same level of sharp. Which in my opinion is really good, most of the time these sharpening stones make my knives duller. It is small enough to be very portable and easy to use, whatever it's made of is a relatively fine grit and it works great for sharpening my D2 steel. It's easy to put underwater to whet it to where you can sharpen without getting metal crud in the grit. This is a barebones, perfect little sharpening stone. It does exactly what it says. It is a great price and very sturdy feeling and it comes with a table protector so you don't scratch up whatever you are sharpening on.5/5
