VERSATILE LONG REACH PLIERS

[Size: 3pcs-Straight/45/90]
Definitely heavy duty long pliers that will be very handy not only under the hood, but for my endless DIY projects. Being able to reach through narrow gaps with strong leverage is always a challenge. These have a comfortable grip with well cushioned double dipped rubber. The joints are understandably tight, will loosen with use. Pliers arrive well packaged with a heavy oil coating to prevent rust in shipping. That cleans off easily with a bit of WD-40, then a drop of light oil on the joints. Versatile pliers in many situations, and affordable to have in the just-in-case toolbox.

There is nothing like these pliers when you need to reach into a compact area to manipulate something. The pliers are double jointed to keep the handle spread to keep everything compact while using. The jaws of the pliers are serrated to give you a better grip. The plier handles are coated with pvc for comfort and slip resistance. The tools arrive covered in oil. This helps to prevent rusting during shipping. After wiping them down I did see that the pivot points are ground flush with the tool body. While everything is ground flush, the finish on the tool is a little course. That said, the pliers seem to work great. If you don’t have a set of these in your toolbox or garage, you should. I have found my pliers to be immensely helpful. These are not cheap tools, but the value for the price paid seem to be good.

This is a versatile plier set, and I appreciate that it includes four different types: long nose, 45-degree, 90-degree, and circlip pliers. They use a compound joint design, which means you don’t have to spread the handles very far for the jaws to open wide. One downside is that they are fairly long and somewhat heavy, but for most applications that’s not really an issue. I used them while repairing the carburetor and thermo wax assembly on my lawn mower, and they worked well for those harder-to-reach tasks. These will definitely become part of my specialized tool collection. The pliers arrived with a bit of oil and some black residue on them, but it only took a quick wipe with a paper towel to clean them up. The packaging was also fairly plain and not very attractive (in a bag), but the quality and usefulness of the tools matter much more to me than the packaging.

A Decent Set of Long-Reach PliersA Decent Set of Long-Reach Pliers

[Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle, Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle]
These are a pretty heavy duty set of pliers in 4 different angles. They are comparable in price for how hefty they are.I picked these up due to their long length as there can be some hard to reach spaces that a longer length can come into play. I also like that they have a nice grip that gives you a good tactile feel. This makes them easy to grip and handle.I appreciated that the manufacturer had these individually wrapped in plastic and had them lubricated so that you they are protected. You will want to make sure they are cared for as there are several pivot points that need to be kept loose for the best performance.Overall, given how heavy duty these are, in my humble opinion, I think they are worth the cost. These exceed the standard pliers you might find at a local retailer due to how heavy duty they are.

A set of specialized pliers for specialized needsA set of specialized pliers for specialized needs

[Size: 3pcs-Straight/45/90, Size: 3pcs-Straight/45/90]
This set of long needle nose pliers includes three pliers with straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree tips. They have long reach without the need for wide opening at the handle. The overall build quality is on par with brands like Crescent and Klein. They grip well and the rubberized handles are comfortable to work with.I have a shower faucet where the valve is a replaceable cartridge that is about 7” inside the wall with approximately 1-1/2” access hole at the front. The cartridge is secured with a pinch clip that has been a difficult task to take off. I have a pair of 11” needle nose pliers that while having the reach, cannot open wide enough to grip the clip because of the 1-1/2” limitation at the access hole. I was able to use the 45-degree pliers from this set to release the clip on the first try making easy work with something that was impossible without it. The straight pliers from this set would have also worked but the 45-degree pliers lined up perfectly with the clip.Since it is impossible to show the reach of these pliers with the faucet I was repairing, I have included pictures with a 7” long 1-1/2” PVC pipe to show the advantage of the double-jointed pliers in this application. You can clearly see how much more opening is possible at the throat compared to a traditional single jointed pliers. For the very specialized need I had, these pliers worked well.

The best type of long reach pliers! The best type of long reach pliers!

[Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle, Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle]
I first started using pliers like these a couple of years ago for some niche tasks and they really blew me away with how useful they are. These have a double jointed pivot which allow you to get a lot of reach without requiring a huge handle opening. It makes getting into tight areas considerably easier. I've collected a few pairs before getting these, so I took some pictures to compare them to the ones you get in this listing. From what I can tell, every single pair of double jointed pliers on the market currently is made in China, and they all look remarkably similar. The brand name pliers I'm comparing to are "OEM Tools", Harbor Freight's "Quinn" and Blue Point. I truly believe they're all made in the same factory to different specs. Of the 4 brands, the Blue Point is the only one that has different overall dimensions, and that's just because the upper pivot arms are shorter, not because there's any major design changes. That being said, there is a noticeable drop in fit and finish quality between the Quinn/OEM Tools and the alphabet brand listed here. The main difference is probably the size and tolerance of the pivot. The round pivots and joints of the pliers sold in this listing are not perfectly symmetrical circles and are a few millimeters wider than the pivot points on the Quinn and OEM. This creates a noticeable grinding feeling when you're opening and closing the pliers. Once fully open they tend to jam up a bit. The jaws themselves are a bit thicker on these pliers than the others. There's also a ton of sharp edges all over the pliers, along with some burrs and shavings that feel welded on from the heat treating process. All of these issues are stuff you can easily clean up with a dremel, a belt sander and a file. It really appears as if the pliers in these listings are just factory seconds to the name brands and with a little bit of polishing up they can be almost identical. I'm actually a big fan of the grips on these compared to the other brands. They've got a double dip, with a rubber base and a textured black over grip. This is very familiar to almost every other no name pair of amazon pliers. Overall they work great. They close tightly without much lateral movement, although there is a few gaps.Other brands can charge as much as $20-$25 for a single pair of double jointed pliers like this, and I almost guarantee they're made in the same factory. If you'll actually utilize the full set... at less than $10 a piece once you break it down I think that makes these a fantastic value. These have the potential to be almost as good as any of the other brands on the market with a little bit of elbow grease. However if you just need one set, and don't want to put a bit of work into polishing them up you're probably better off just grabbing them at a box store when they're on sale.

These are a set of 4 long reach pliers. They include straight, round 45 and 90 angles. These will come in handy in many situations where shorter sets of needle nose pliers will not, especially the round nose pliers in my case. Now, I do not feel these are built super strong. The metal is the type that will corrode if not taken care of. With four pivit points, it will be important to keep them well lubricated. Maintenance is a part of taking care of your tools, so I do not feel making them down for that is the right thing here. Time will tell how they hold up. The price I felt was OK for a set of four 13 inch long pliers, as long as they hold up a few years.

Provide Great Leverage to Reach those Tight Spots!Provide Great Leverage to Reach those Tight Spots!

[Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle, Size: 4pcs-Straight/45/90 /Circle]
These are large, heavy-duty needle-nose pliers. They are durable; they are not thin, flimsy pliers that will bend under pressure. This set of 4 (standard, bent, and circle-nose) pliers is designed for various tasks and lets you get into a lot of tight, confined areas you couldn't otherwise; they provide great leverage to reach those tight spots. This variety ensures that you are prepared for different jobs. They arrived oiled and wrapped in plastic to prevent rust or corrosion before delivery. Coated with an anti-rust lacquer finish, these pliers are built for long-term durability. They are long, but they offer good balance. Their textured PVC handles are easy to grip and comfortable to hold. The tips of their jaws meet perfectly with no gaps, and deep cross-hatched serrations inside the jaws ensure a firm grip on small objects without slipping. The straight and circle nose pliers open and close smoothly, although the compound joints on the two bent-nose pliers feel slightly stiff or sticky, which may improve with use.I have given these pliers a 4-star rating because they meet our expectations and are a nice addition to our tool collection.
