I've used this as a sealant and an adhesive and the Seal Bond 400 works well in both applications. We have some soffits that were pulling away from our mason walls and the sealant sealed the gaps easily and there wasn't a lot of movement of the polymer as it was applied. I was worried it would pull from the top, as other types of caulk sometimes do, but this sealant stayed attached, cured quickly and looks great. Since I find that tubed sealants tend to harden quickly when opened, we used this on floorboard gaps, resealed window frames and filled just about every gap and crevice we could find in our house. It is a little more expensive than your typical caulk, but this has so many other uses it is well worth the money.

This is a high-quality hybrid construction sealant with excellent adhesion on a wide range of surfaces. It applies with a standard caulk gun, bonds well to common exterior materials, and cures into a durable but flexible seal that should resist cracking and shrinking as materials expand and contract.It is especially useful for exterior gaps around windows, doors, siding, trim, brick, metal, and other areas exposed to weather. The formula is low-odor and low-VOC, and it appears to hold up well against sun, rain, and temperature changes. It costs more than basic exterior caulk, but the stronger bond and no-shrink flexibility make the higher price easier to justify for repairs you do not want to repeat.The only downside for me is the color choice: I bought black and now wish I had selected white. That is entirely on me, though—check your surface and choose the color that will blend in best before ordering.

This stuff works.I used this adhesive to secure some outdoor landscaping block and its holding up very well. I'm impressed!The blocks were not shifting but they weren't fastened and I was worried that someone stepping on them, like a kid, may cause them to fall. This adhesive has sured them up quite nicely and they feel very solid. I used it generously and on a dry and mild temperature day so they would cure as well as they possibly could. Seems to have paid off and I'm really happy with the strength of this adhesive.I wore nitrile gloves, as I do with all caulk so cleanup was no issue/no mess. Worked just fine with a standard caulk gun and didn't leak from inside the plunger. Easy.

I'm going to give this product the benefit of the doubt, and give it a four-star review. I consider myself to be a decent, better-than-average caulker, but I had issues with applying this. It was very hot in Nashville today - around 90°, and I was mostly in the sun. But I did also apply it in places where I was completely in the shade, and had a similar experience for the 50-70 minutes that I was working on the exterior of my house. It is kind of liquidy, and wants to leave strings, especially when being applied overhead. I used it to adhere and close some small gaps at the top of my garage door, and this happened a lot in that instance. But it would basically do this at the end of most any run of application that I was completing. I used a normal caulk gun to apply this, and that worked. But the aforementioned issues were pretty frustrating.Aside from this annoying issue, I have no reason to believe that it won't hold up as advertised. It has cured in less than four hours. It retains some flexibility, and had remained basically the same size - no shrinkage that I could observe.I used it largely on windows, the perimeter of the garage door, and to fill in gaps on a previous caulking project in the brick facade of my house. It appears to adhere to all of these surfaces well.I got the white color, and it has remained bright white, so be aware of that in case you don't want that obvious brightness. It would be nice to have a clear option.The price seems high to me, but I'm used to typical white and clear caulk. For this different chemical configuration, it seems comparable to other offerings. Time will tell if it's worth it to invest so much more in this formulation.

I don't know much about all the 'ingredients" used in this sealant. I am not too familiar with what does what or what works better with what. I just know I have some small DIY projects at home and they required sealants.This is construction sealant. I figured with that name it should be able to handle my housework. I probably didn't even need anything so strong but I'd rather have that than not.Comes in the standard tube that sealants come in. Some people like these. I am not a fan but that's because I am messy and never know how to seal these up to use for later. I also don't have one of those guns that push this stuff out. Squeezing out by hand, not bad. No issues. The consistency is smooth and soft and a little thin but not too much. It's like toothpaste which I am assuming is what I want. Either way, it worked for what I needed it for and it was not as messy as I thought it would be.I wish the tip was better and these type of tubes came with a better way to store left over sealant but I can figure that out later. For now, the adhesion for my projects was good. Quick dry but also beginner friendly so I was able to work on small mistakes that I made. So far as I can see, weeks later, the seals are durable with no issues.

I live in an old house and there is a french door that leaks around the casing when the wind and rain blow directly at it. I discovered that the caulk between the siding and the door casing was dried out and cracked.I ordered this sealant because of the no shrink, flexibility and uv resistant claims. I understand the nature of the polymer and expect it should work as advertised. I dug out the old caulk and cleaned the area as much as possible. Then I applied the Seal Bond 400 with a caulk gun. It was easy to apply, it flowed smoothly but did not sag.This tube of sealant costs 2 to 3 times more than a tube of standard exterior caulk but if it prevents leaks and lasts a long time then it's worth it.

A nest of yellow jackets disagreed with me on house ownership. They had found a gap in a recently replaced piece of siding under the soffit in the front doorway of my house. (We had our roof replaced and new guttering installed after a bad hailstorm last year and I did not see this mistake after the installation.) Bad all the way around. The aluminum facia piece they bypassed was against brick so I needed a sealant and adhesive that could go between these media, stick and hold, not shrink or separate, and not decay to give future access to flying insects. I also needed the sealant to not be finicky—I cleaned the surfaces as much as possible, but the gap was narrow, difficult to access, and might still have residue from the spray I had to use on the wasps. I also wanted it to apply quickly and evenly so that I would not be on a ladder on a raised porch if wasps returned.I was impressed how easily and quickly this hybrid polymer did the job. A simple caulking gun worked fine to apply the material. It filled, stayed, dried, and bonded the metal to the brick. I’m very glad that the material means that I won’t be doing this again. I am ordering a couple more tubes to make sure that I won’t have a similar problem in the future in any other place in my house. Good stuff and worth the price for peace of mind.
