Really impressed with this tarp. The size is great, the canvas feels very thick and high-quality, and it seems durable enough for repeated outdoor use. It did have a strong funk when first opened, but it aired out fine and still sheds water after a couple of uses. Overall, it’s an excellent value for the price.

This tarp feels much heavier and more durable than the thin plastic ones I have used before. The material has a nice thick feel to it, and the reinforced edges and grommets seem sturdy enough that I’m not worried about them pulling out when it is tied down. I also like that it stays put better in the wind and doesn’t make as much noise as a plastic tarp. It does a good job keeping rain and dirt off whatever you are covering, while still being easy enough to fold and move around. The only downside is the strong chemical smell when it is new, so if you are using it inside like in a basement or attic I would definitely let it air outside for a while before using it.

I've been using this canvas tarp for about two months to cover a 9 x 40 inch lathe in my woodshop, and it has turned out to be the perfect size for the job. It drapes well over the machine and provides good coverage to keep dust and debris off when the lathe isn't in use.The material feels well made and noticeably heavier than the typical inexpensive tarps. It has a thick waterproof coating that gives it a durable feel while still remaining flexible enough to fold and position easily. The reinforced grommets also appear to be securely installed and should hold up well if you need to tie it down outdoors. For my application it's been an excellent alternative to a custom machine cover. If you need a sturdy canvas tarp for shop equipment or general utility use, this one offers solid quality and has performed very well so far.

I have had several times where a plastic drop cloth was too thin, even using an old shower curtain instead. I decided a nice small tarp would be a better choice so when I came across this Heavy Duty Canvas Tarp while searching here on Amazon, I ordered itIt arrives folded in a large resealable plastic pouch. Inside was the tarp and a paperboard with some graphics and product informationOpening the pouch releases a very strong chemical odor. The tarp itself has a slightly tacky feel when new. I opened it up and laid it out. It has a shinier (inside) side, and a more matte (outside) side. Along each short end are 4 grommets, and along each long side are 5 grommets. Material is a 350 GSM (12oz) heavy duty canvas. The card inside the bag says waterproof, but the ad says water-resistant and waterproof, which are two different thingsThe tarp is 6.6 foot x 4.9 foot which is a nice, workable size. The grommets are listed as rustproof, and are aluminum. The seams are double sown and the edges substantial. The tarp has a nice hefty, this feel, but is not overly heavy. It does seem robust enough for multiple tasks and longevity, and it is UV ResistantAll in all, this seems to be a quality tarp, but I recommend opening it outside and letting it lay out in the sun for a while to disperse the odorFor the Materials, and Construction, and Useable Size I will give it 5 stars

Good tarp for the price, and it's noticeably thicker than I expected when it arrived. It feels heavy duty and well made, which isn't always a given at this price point. One thing worth mentioning is that mine had a strong off-gassing smell right out of the package, kind of a lingering plastic odor. I'd recommend opening it outside and letting it air out before using it in enclosed areas or around anything smell-sensitive. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing ahead of time.

I ordered this canvas tarp to cover some outdoor equipment and wood piles, and the material itself feels very thick and durable. It does match the description in terms of weight and toughness, and it seems like it will hold up well for long term outdoor use. The grommets are strong and make it easy to secure the tarp tightly, which is helpful in windy conditions. It also does a good job of keeping moisture and dust off items while still allowing some airflow. However, when I first opened it, the smell was very strong and unpleasant, and I had to put it outside right away to air out. After a while outside, the odor did start to fade, but it was definitely noticeable at first. Overall, it is a good value for the durability, but the initial smell is something to be aware of.

This tarp is definitely heavy duty, but I have to knock off a star for the intense chemical smell. It has been 3 days and it still smells so toxic there is no way I could use it in my car to load mulch as intended without getting a headache. Once it is fully off gassed it will likely be fine, but wow did they coat this! One side of the tarp is shiny with a heavy waterproof coating. I poured water on it as you can see and it beaded right up. The other side fully shows the weave texture. The grommets seem heavy duty with sufficiently large holes and the fabric is doubled up where they are punched through. The rolled edges are heavy duty. It feels like they have a heavy duty cord inside. So seems like a decent product at a good value. Hopefully the toxic smell goes away soon! Another thing to note: The title of this is currently "Heavy Duty Canvas Tarp 6.6x4.9ft, 12oz (350 GSM) Cotton Canvas Water-Resistant Tarp with Rustproof Grommets, Tear-Resistant Outdoor Cover for Wood Piles, Camping, Trailer & Equipment (6.6x4.9ft)". This is incorrect. This is not made of cotton but polyester as described in the description. A bit misleading.
