It's a decent length cable at 10ft. with a good thickness for the power that runs through it. It can be used to hock up your RV or in case of power outage to your appliances or house. It will last a long time due to its quality and as stated can be used for many different things. It has a four prong that fits most generators. Overall its a good length and value for your money.

This 10-foot, 30-amp generator extension cord is well made and works exactly as expected. The 10-gauge wire feels heavy-duty, and the connectors fit securely. It’s a reliable option for connecting a generator when you need a 4-prong L14-30 connection. I’m giving it four stars simply because the 4-prong configuration isn’t very common, so it won’t work for everyone without the proper equipment. That’s not a fault of the product—it’s just something buyers should double-check before ordering. Overall, it’s a durable, quality extension cord that does exactly what it’s designed to do.

This 10FT 30 Amp generator extension cord is a total game-changer for my setup, allowing me to finally move my generator much further away from my trailer to significantly reduce that constant engine noise. The build quality is exceptional, featuring a heavy-duty 10-gauge STW wire that handles up to 7500W with ease, while the L14-30P/L14-30R twist-lock connectors provide a secure, weather-resistant connection that won’t accidentally pull apart. Being ETL listed gives me great peace of mind regarding safety for my 125/250V needs, and the flexibility of the cord makes it incredibly easy to coil and store when not in use. I would highly recommend this cord to anyone looking to improve their camping or emergency power experience—it is a reliable, high-quality essential that makes a world of difference!

The quality of the cable and ends is very nice. It is a very flexible cable and the proper gauge for 30amp. Unfortunately, I was unable to try it out as I ordered the wrong ends. This did not fit my generator. So make sure you actually have a L14-30R recepticle on your generator before purchasing. Overall, this is a great value as I cannot even purchase 10ft of cable without ends for this price. I will probably just lop off the ends and put the correct ones that I need on it as this was my mistake.

My old L14-30 is from 2008 and has already had the plug ends replaced once but they are not sealed and not really safe outside. I was very pleased to see how well this new cord is made. This is a 10 gauge cord but thicker than my older 10 gauge and should provide better protection from abrasions. Not only is the cord shell thick, the plug ends are top quality and sealed. It was coiled tightly in the package but was very easy to unroll with great flexibility and I suspect that is due to using finer strands of copper wires. A good sign of quality. I will use this cord to extend my main generator cord which splits into three 120v plugs. With this extension I will have a total of 20 feet that allows the generator to be placed farther away from the garage door. It is resting with my other cords until called for duty.

Sometimes, I need to have my generator relatively close to the transfer switch inlet box that's mounted outside of the house. This is for example, when recharging the battery backup power station during or after a power outage. I can run the power station to power the home (6 circuits of 120VAC) through the transfer switch, but also charge the battery from the generator to get the capacity up to the working capacity of 90%. But this can typically be at 3500W of output from the generator (~50% generator capacity) and might take an hour or two even without any output depending on how low the battery is. It's critical to have a good 30 Amp connection and as short a run as practical to make it safe and efficient. I do have some super short cords but this means I'm running the generator right next to the house and it's better to get it separated for noise and in general to keep the exhaust away from the house too. I run propane in the generator so the exhaust is not as much of an issue, but still a good practice. Ten feet of this 10GA wire is just what is needed for this application. This is a good extension with quality plugs that are molded with the cord for absolute waterproof connections given proper cover for the generator and the design of the inlet box. I have a number of cords for different purposes that I've made with the appropriate cord, plugs and receptacles. But this type of pre-made cord is best for times when it's raining or snowing and although you have a safe setup, there's no easy way to do waterproofing on the plugs you install in this manner. These locking L14-30 fit well and lock easily and positively when turned, and they are flexible. It's also good to have a spare cord for extra reach at times.
