Solid clip. I get really into what I'm working on, but I also jump from project to project as I move about, so I often lose track of tools. Purchased this to hold my drill or tape measure. The clip is fairly stiff. I worried I wouldn't be able to get it onto my waist band, but I had no issues doing so. It holds tight. Seems strong and durable and should prevent the frustration of losing my tools when I'm absorbed with whatever I'm working on. I don't expect it to get wet, but I would thinkbif it does, a quick wipe down will prevent any rust. Happy with this holder.

Bottom line up front: this is a great little gadget that has already earned a spot next to my pouch and hammer ring on my belt.I'm in the trades, and - nearly every day - I'm hanging either one or two drills/drivers off my belt. I like to use two because I don't have to switch bits between operations of drilling and fastening, and this is where this drill holder shines. I've typically hung a drill from the hammer ring on one side, and the driver from the front pocket on a tool pouch, or from my pocket itself, and the pictures of the ads for this don't lie: doing this stretches and shreds your pocket rather quick!This gadget fits snugly over my leather belt and holds on very tight. The sturdy and thick plastic construction is riveted firmly together, and feels very well-made. The steel "catch" on the front receives the steel "hook" on my drills perfectly, and feels much more secure than hanging my tools from my pocket or pouch. On a ladder, walking around, kneeling down...the flat hook on the drill mates with the catch on this perfectly (almost as if it was designed as such, right?)The holder is also very low-profile and doesn't add any noticeable bulk. It doesn't catch on other things, and gives me a great deal of added confidence that I'm not going to slide my drill down, miss the catch, and drop the drill from height.Altogether, this is a well-made, well-designed, and functional tool that I'm using daily already. For $15 or so, it's a fine value for a versatile and useful belt implement!

I really like that this is clip on - it wasn't totally clear from the provided pictures, and I was worried that I wasn't going to use it because it would require partially undoing my belt. Not a problem! I do think that the area of the base could be larger - a heavy tool will rotate it down into your hip and if you don't have it placed correctly it can be uncomfortable if not adjusted correctly. The loop also accommodates large belts, but that might cause some looseness if you are using a smaller or more flexible belt. The pictured belt is a military-style riggers belt and I felt that the fit was still pretty loose.I probably won't reach for this if I'm doing a quick job, but I will certainly use it when I'm doing ladder work and/or an extended work session and I need to quickly and securely stow and access my drill.At this price point, I do think you should look at the market space and explore your options.

My tool belt did not have an attachment point for a drill, and this was a great way to add it. You could even use this on a regular belt for casual work around the house as long as the belt could support the weight.I got the standard size because I wanted maximum support for the tool (the difference between "standard" and "slim" seems to just be the height of the metal tool hanger). The plastic clip that connects to the belt seems plenty sturdy and has a stout spring to hold it shut. In fact, my only criticism might be that it's a little harder than it could be to attach and detach because there is no thumb lever at the top to open it up. On the other hand, you don't have to deal with a lever poking into your side all day, so I think it's a fair compromise.I tried it with my Dewalt 12V drill on both a thick leather belt and my tool belt, and it worked great.
