This one is a lighting problem, of which the house has many. In this case, there is one ceiling light in the kitchen, and it's right smack dab in the center. This leaves much to be desired in the lighting for the stove, the sink, and other counter areas.Enter the E27 Light Bulb Socket. It is lightweight (made of plastic) and has a long cord. We installed it on the wall (with the ugly wallpaper) about halfway between the stove and the sink. (Note: this is only a temporary lighting situation until we figure out how we want to fix it permanently.) It only takes a couple of screws (not included) to install it, plus anchors if you don't have a stud behind it. Then you simply plug it in and flip the switch.During the day, there's a window by the stove/sink area... but in the dark, it is like standing in a dark, scary corner. This is especially bad in the winter when it gets dark before it's time to make dinner! This E27 Light Bulb Socket lights up everything in the area. We can now see to cook on the stove AND we can see what we are doing in the sink.My favorite thing about this light socket is the power switch. It isn't one of those crappy wheels; it's an actual rocker switch. It's a nice looking rocker switch. If this were more of a permanent placement, I'd put a piece of double sided tape on the back and stick it to the wall.When we get a permanent light put in above that area in the kitchen, I plan to move the light socket to our bedroom closet because, ya know, it's dark in there, too.Pros: It's lightweight, installs quickly and easily. It puts off decent light. I love the rocker switch to turn it off and on. It plugs into an outlet with a 9' cord, so no electrical box is required.Cons: You can't use a globe, but you could possibly use a small, lightweight lamp shade that is held on by a clip-on fitter on the bulb.Overall Impression: If you need a quick and easy lighting solution, this could be a great economical temporary or permanent solution for you. I would recommend this to others.

I bought this little light for my new tack room in my barn. I needed something simple, easy to install, and with an attached switch. This little socket fit all my criteria very well.It took me about five minutes to use the provided screws to install. Once installed I used the switch on the cord to turn it on and off. The switch is placed very well on the cord and it just flipps up and down easily with your finger or thumb.The socket is very light weight because it's plastic. For my purpose, I didn't need anything heavy or hard to install. This socket will work just as it is for a permanant lighting structure in my little tack room as there is no other light available unless I wire one in to the existing barn lights. Why do that when I can just plug this little light socket in, easy, peasey.The only issue I had was that the scews don't have washers or anything. I ended up screwing the screw in too far and it went past the screw channel in the socket mount. This made it want to hang because the screw wasn't keeping it tight. So, don't over tighten the screw or you'll have the same issue. A small washer will prevent this from happening.Overall, I like this little socket very much and the price is very budget friendly. It's also very portable as you only need to plug it in to a wall socket to make it work. It's so light that you can really just hang it anywhere, or place it on a table or hook. It's super versatile and works very well. I'm happy with my purchase.

It is a good size, with two screw holes, for an easy and secure ceiling or wall mounting. If for any reason though, the supplied cord does not suit your needs, it is very easily replaceable. A good quality product at a good price.
