These things are great for reno work. I'm going to be redoing an older house later this year. There are quite a few light fixtures that I will be turning into the 1/2" puck lights. Some of the old lights were installed by the previous owner. Not real pretty.These rings come in so handy to cover up the goofs and not very round holes. They are thin plastic which allows you to spray a ceiling texture over them or paint them if you're not redoing the ceiling. They are a matte finish and can easily be glued to the ceiling. You just need to know what size your lights are. Mostly 4" or 6". These are for 6" lights.Trying to patch or fix a drywall boo-boo can be very frustrating and time consuming. I recommend YouTube for how-to guidance. And I recommend these rings for a perfect patch. At about $1.35/ea., you can't beat the price for what this product does. Even if you screw one up, you've lost less than a can of soda! Value for the money is great!

I ordered this product titled [Goof Rings for 6 Inch Recessed Lights, Can Light Trim Ring Cover with Paintable Surface and Matte Finish,Inner Diameter 6 Inch,Outer Diameter 8.6 Inch, White, 12 Packs] and I am satisfied with it.These are pretty basic, but extremely useful rings that hide the marks or gaps from old, larger lights which allows smaller lights to be installed and still look nice.The quality is good and what I would expect for rings like this. Thick enough to keep their shape, but not too thick to hinder installation of the new lights.These fit my 6" lights perfectly. The ceiling was marred up from the original lights being removed and this solved that problem. Installation was easy and intuitive and now my ceiling looks good again.At a price of just under $16 for 12 rings, I think this is a decent value.I am satisfied with this set of goof rings.

I recently started replacing all the 6" can lights in my home with retrofit LED lights. The process was simple enough until I got to the kitchen and realized the holes in the front were less like holes, and more like ovals. They were cut way too big (and oblong) for the new lights to cover. I thought I was going to have to spend a few hours doing drywall work, then I found these goof rings.These goof rings are the perfect solution. They will save you hours of drywall work and they look great. They are pretty flexible but sit perfectly flat with the springs on the can lights pulling against them. They are slightly textured which matched my LED lights. I wasn't sure if they'd stand out but they look almost seamless with the lights as long as you get them centered. They also add a nice depth to the light and make them look more elegant.I would 100% recommend them for anyone needing to cover messed up drywall holes, and will probably add them to new lights I cut and install in the future.

We recently added some recessed lighting to our hallway and living room. My husband did a great job of installing but the hole cuts were visable just a tiny bit on 1 or 2. He was going to take them down, drywall them and sand and reinstall and I saw these rings. WOW ! problem solved and you can't even notice they are there. They are just a thin plastic type material that is paintable too. Great price for a large set too.
