worked out great just what I needed

I actually ordered this cover plate for my smoke detector but it worked great! It’s the perfect upgrade to make its simple and clean and super easy to mount. It fit over my 5 inch smoke detector perfectly. Covers any gaps or holes and creates a nice finished look on ceiling. The white finish is clean and smooth and blended right in with my ceiling. It’s made of lightweight material but quite sturdy. This was a cheap and simple fix that made a big difference!

I ordered this ceiling medallion because my recessed can light left a gap around my new pendant that made it look like the ceiling had been gnawed on by raccoons. This iron goof‑ring showed up ready to hide every crime my drywall had ever committed. It’s made of iron — actual iron — which feels wildly overqualified for the job. It doesn’t bend, warp, or sag. Once it’s up there, it sits perfectly flat like it’s been part of the ceiling since the Clinton administration. The 7¾‑inch trim ring is exactly the right size to cover gaps, rough cuts, and whatever questionable decisions the previous homeowner made with a drywall saw. The matte white finish blends in so well it looks like it came with the house. It works with both 5‑inch and 6‑inch cans, which is great because my house apparently has both, depending on which room you walk into and how chaotic the builder was feeling that day.Installation is easy. It’s basically a ceiling beauty filter: pop it on, line it up, and suddenly your pendant looks intentional instead of “I hope no one looks up.” The value is excellent too — for the price of a drive‑thru lunch, you get a piece of iron décor that fixes your ceiling, upgrades your lighting, and hides every mistake like a loyal friend.I ordered it to cover a rough edge. Now I’m tempted to install more lights just so I can use another one.

I got 2 sizes of these. I am going to renovate my house later this year. That includes removing several 1973 era can lights and replacing them with the puck lights Amazon sells. Not to mention adding a few more lights in the darker rooms. Anyway, I've got these stashed for the repair instead of having to do drywall & mud to cover the larger hole. They are thin enough to be lightweight and could even be glued on if necessary. They are plastic, of course, larger than the hole I need fixed so install will be easy. They are white just like my ceiling and easily fit the 2 puck lights I already have. I actually think they could be covered by the knock-down finish I'll be using on the ceiling. Great deal for a product that is hard to find locally.

When my son offered to swap my old recessed can for a small chandelier over the dining table, I ordered this cover to hide the gap. The white finish looks clean, and it blends in well with my slightly off-white ceiling, close enough that no one comments. I like that it gives the fixture a more finished look.Fitting it took us longer than we expected though. We had to loosen the light, nudge the ring around, then retighten a few times before it sat flat. Once in place it stayed put, but I would not tackle it alone. We used it during a Sunday dinner and I did feel better seeing no rough drywall ring around the light.

Landing this for the gym break room ceiling made my day. I swapped out an ugly recessed can in five minutes. The ring snapped in tight and covered every rough edge from the old fixture. No repainting. Members noticed the cleaner look right away and actually commented on it.

Working in real estate - we’re frequently updating light fixtures to maximize property value - finding a clean, non-decorative ceiling medallion is more difficult than you'd think. Most options are overly ornate, plastic, and surprisingly expensive. It’s something I actually look for at Habitat for Humanity resale stores because they are more expensive online. This goof ring is awesome - it has a perfectly flat, low-profile design that blends seamlessly into a ceiling. The build quality is excellent - solid metal with a subtle, textured finish that acts as a great primer coat, making it entirely paintable to match any ceiling color, or it can stand on its own for a little bit of contrast. In home staging and real estate, swapping dated recessed can lights for modern pendants or chandeliers is one of the highest ROI cosmetic updates you can make - plus any DIY homeowner can execute it to transform and improve their space. Its a professional, cost-effective maneuver to conceal oversized drywall cutouts without requiring repairs. Total time saver. It looks clean and delivers an elevated finish.Definitely a must-have hardware staple in your toolbox for a quick property transformation - I keep a stack of them in my garage because they come in so handy and we frequently use them - they’re a total property hack to keep in your arsenal of home improvements!

This ceiling medallion for a can light works well at hiding imperfections in the hole cut for installation of a ceiling light. It is easy to put in place and looks like part of the fixture once installed. The texture of the finish and the color are a good match for the ceiling white paint in our house, and blend in seamlessly. I appreciate that this is made of strong metal and not flimsy plastic like some others I’ve seen. The ring is well-made, durable, and a very good value for the price.
