This finger switch is a handy addition to a TIG setup when you want simple torch-mounted control without having to use a foot pedal. I got this because I'm working at a Fab shop and TIG welding all day. I was hoping it would work like the Miller button where it ramps up and ramps down on machines like the Maxstar, but it does not. It is what we would call a momentary switch, not a latching switch. It does control the machine on and off, but you do have to hold the trigger down the whole time. I would say the value of this is great compared to the cost of the Miller push button if you don't need the ramp up and ramp down feature. I've been using it for approximately one month now all day every day, and I'm so glad I got it! The only downside I found was that there weren't enough the zip ties included, but it was easy to add some that I already had. Maybe if there was also a way to stop it from spinning when zip tied to the handle, that would be helpful.

It is a new process for me to learn for sure vs having a foot pedal that allows you to adjust your amperage for starting and stopping. @TheFabricatoSeries on YouTube shows how this set up works, and how to navigate the fixed amperage setting. It is well made and comes with quite a few zip ties to secure it to your torch. If you have to weld out of position, this is a great way to go. My torch is at work so I was not able to mount it up and try it at this time.

This is a finger trigger for a TIG torch — a simple momentary on/off switch you mount to the torch instead of relying on a built-in trigger or a foot pedal. Set expectations correctly going in: it's on/off only. It does not give you the variable, feather-it-down amperage control of a foot pedal, but that's not a flaw — that's what a torch trigger IS. Nobody should buy this expecting pedal-style modulation.Functionality for its actual purpose is exactly right. I use it for tacking pieces together, where simple on/off is all you need — hit the switch, lay the tack, release. For that job it's perfect and a lot more convenient than dragging a pedal around. One thing to understand: because it's just a momentary switch, it won't let you manually ride your upslope/downslope the way a pedal does. Any ramping happens automatically at weld start and stop if you program it — but that behavior lives in your welder's settings, not in this trigger. Don't judge the trigger for what's really a power-source function.Now the compatibility part, which is the most useful thing I can tell you. The listing sells this as a Miller-pattern switch with a 14-pin connector. I don't run a Miller — I used it on a Fronius iWave 230i, through the trigger adapter Fronius provides for running standard foot pedals (they call it the heavy-duty adapter). All that adapter does is route the two switch wires into the correct pins on the Fronius trigger connector. That's the key insight: electrically, this is just a two-wire momentary contact. The Miller connector is the only brand-specific thing about it. If you're on another brand, you can make it work the same way — with the correct adapter or pin mapping for YOUR power source. I'm not going to spell out wiring here because the right pins depend entirely on your machine; check your welder's documentation and don't guess at a trigger connector on an expensive power source.Build quality is fine — the 25ft cable is genuinely long, giving you real room to work away from the machine, and the switch housing feels solid enough to take being handled on the torch. At this price it's a reasonable buy for the convenience of trigger-tacking, especially if you already understand it's a plain on/off switch.Five stars for doing its one job well, with the honest caveats that it's on/off only and that non-Miller users will need an adapter.

This finger switch is very useful. We are using it for a home made panograph for our plasma cutter, it's much more convenient than the foot pedal. Some things we like about this finger switch are that it's universal and doesn't take up much space. The build quality is good and it works effectively. The jack cube attachment can also be used for many different functions. The one con is it did not come with any wiring diagram or info on the pin connections so if you want to use it for innovative out of the box uses, you'll need to call and ask for that like we did. I don't know much about pricing on these niche items so you would also want to consider if $56 is worth it for you but it's very convenient to use so I would say that price is worth the value for most people who use their machine much and you'll be glad you have it.

Finding good aftermarket TIG accessories can be hit or miss, but this finger switch is an exact match for my Miller welder. The 14-pin connector snaps tightly into the machine with a perfect, secure fit and zero wiggle room. The 25FT length is fantastic because it gives me plenty of slack to move around large fabrication tables or weld frames on the floor without pulling on the machine. The switch itself is incredibly snappy and offers immediate arc initiation. Highly recommend!
