Stayed Put Through Constant Contractor Traffic and Removed Easily

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
We used this while finishing our new home, when we still had subcontractors constantly coming in and out. With brand new hardwood floors already installed, protecting them from all that foot traffic, tools, dust and general construction mess was a priority. This worked extremely well for us.The self adhesive backing is probably the feature I appreciated most. Once we put it down, it stayed firmly attached to the hardwood instead of shifting, bunching or creating something everyone had to step around. With people walking through the house all day, having floor protection that actually stayed where we put it made a huge difference. What impressed me just as much was removal. Something can stick wonderfully and then become a nightmare when it is time to pull it up. This held firmly while we needed it, but when we were finished, it pulled up easily from our properly cured hardwood floor. The material itself also provided a substantial protective layer between our new floors and everything happening above them. I especially like that it is designed to be breathable while still providing protection from common construction spills. For anyone building or renovating after finished flooring is already in place, this is exactly the type of protection I would want.It survived the constant parade of subcontractors through our new house, stayed firmly in place and then came up easily when we were done. That is about the best test I can give temporary floor protection.

Exactly what I needed to protect my stairs during renovation

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
The main reason I wanted to try this floor protector over the normal heavy duty brown paper one that I usually buy was the flexibility and the self adhesive. First, this paper gave me the flexibility because of the weave of the breathable fabric, which made it easy to use on the stairs that I am trying to protect during a renovation. Second, the self-adhesive gave me the stickiness and no slip feature that I need for safety on the stairs. Finally this paper seems very durable compared to the brown stuff, so while it’s a little more expensive, it was a time saver installing and saved me money on tape, so overall it’s a fair value.

Protects the floor well but doesn’t stick as good as I thought it wouldProtects the floor well bu...

This breathable floor protector is okay. It’s somewhat easy to put down, although I’d suggest scissors to cut it rather than a razor knife because it tears. However, it doesn’t stick very well to the floor like it says it should. You can feel the stickiness on the one side but it easily pulls up. It doesn’t bunch up as bad as I thought it would so it’s not a tripping hazard unless you drag stuff on it. In the details it says it adheres well to natural stone, etc. and that is what I have it on but it barely sticks. Walking on it hard seems to help. I like that it is breathable though so you can put it under drying tiles and now be worried about excessive moisture getting trapped. It’s pretty thin but it’s still waterproof and it catches dust and dirt well so it’s not piling up. Overall, I think it’s a good deal for the price as it covers a lot of square footage, just be sure your floor is in the compatible materials list.

Excellent Temporary Surface Protection for Renovations

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
Sheeldify Mayershield Pro Breathable Self-Adhesive Temporary FloorThe Good: Self-adhesive backing rolls out smoothly and grips floors without sliding underfoot. Breathable material allows moisture to escape safely, protecting delicate hardwood or curing tile. Thick, durable construction shields floors from accidental drops, heavy boots, and paint spills. Removes completely clean at the end of a project with zero sticky adhesive residue left behind. The Ok: The material is quite rigid, making it slightly tricky to fold tightly into sharp corners. Requires a completely swept, dust-free surface initially to get the maximum adhesive grip. The might be an issue for some: Intended strictly for temporary use; leaving it down for months beyond project limits is not recommended.Final Thought: rolls out easy and protects the floors like you wouldn’t believe. Fantastic price that keeps your floors safe from knicks & dirt/grime when moving.

Goes down easy, comes back up easy too

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
We just did a small remodeling job, and this allowed us to protect our floor while it was going on. Some of the features (breathable) were probably overkill. But others (waterproof) came in quite handy. The best things about it is how easy it is to put down, and how easily it comes back up, without leaving any adhesive to clean up. The other best thing about it is that it's pretty tough, so you can move stuff around, drop stoff, and generally bang on it without tearing it.It's a little bit pricey, but less so than fixing a floor that you've damaged by spilling or dropping something on it! And if you fold it into the cost of the rest of whatever job you're doing, the cost may be negligible.

This is some pretty durable floor protection. It does feel a bit expensive for something you're just going to throw away after finishing a job, but if you have expensive new floors that you can't afford to scratch or mess up during a project, putting this down is definitely a smart move. It stays in place well without sliding around, holds up against foot traffic and tool drops, and gives you solid peace of mind while working. Overall, it does what it needs to do and keeps the underlying surface safe.

A relatively expensive option that's worth the price.

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
You can buy comparable products for about half the price, but what sets this apart is the adhesive backing. I've been using this type of three-layer laminated floor protection to cover antique flooring covered in lead-based paint in a house I am restoring so that the floors can be protected, walked on, and abraded without creating a lead dust hazard, until I get around to reinishing them. Until now, I used Sheeldify's non-adhesive version of this sheeting, that you must tape down (with their very excellent tape). I've loved the performance of it, having had it down on floors for over a year. The claims of toughness, waterproofness, cushioning, and anti-slip are all completely true, and it's easy to clean as well. Taping the other versions down, even in a small room, took me a full day of work. Enter this self-adhesive version and that time is cut by three quarters! The higher price is well worth it for me, and the overall results are better. This stuff is really heavy-duty, perfect for applications where the need is to protect a floor (and other things too!) for a long period of time. Thanks to its cushioning and vapor transfer, I don't need to worry about trapping moisture or damaging the floors despite heavy work going on, and if something spills, all is well because this stuff can be vacuumed and mopped many times over.

The material feels more advanced than basic plastic sheeting because it is breathable

[Size: 39" x 100', Color: SkyCloud]
This Mayershield Pro temporary floor protection is a very useful product for construction, remodeling, painting, or protecting newly installed floors. The 39 inch by 100 foot roll gives you a lot of coverage, and the SkyCloud color has a clean look that makes the work area feel more finished than using cardboard, rosin paper, or random drop cloths. It is especially nice for areas where you need protection that stays in place without constantly shifting around. The self-adhesive backing is one of the best features because it makes installation much easier. You do not have to tape down every edge like with standard floor covering, and the low-tack adhesive helps keep it from sliding under foot traffic. That makes it very practical for active jobsites where people are walking in and out, moving tools, or doing finish work. I would still make sure the floor surface is properly cured and clean before applying it, especially on new flooring. The material feels more advanced than basic plastic sheeting because it is breathable while still offering waterproof protection. That is important when covering newer or more sensitive surfaces because trapped moisture can be a concern with some floor protection products. The 3-layer design, nonwoven top surface, waterproof breathable core, and adhesive backing make it feel durable enough for normal construction use while still being easier to handle than heavier floor protection boards.I also like the textured, non-slip surface. It gives better traction than slick plastic and helps catch some dust and debris instead of letting everything slide around. The tear-resistant construction is useful when tools, ladders, carts, or general foot traffic are involved. Overall, this is a high-quality temporary floor protection roll that works well for painting, renovation, remodeling, and protecting new floors. It costs more than basic coverings, but the adhesive backing, breathable design, waterproof barrier, traction, and durability make it worth it for the right project.
