While doing a attic remodel to a loft apartment, I originally planned to use some smart puck LED’s for lighting. I came across several concerns that pushed me to a traditional CAN housing for this situation. One, it’s in the vent portion of attic, so slight risk of element extremes. Next, these ate untested smart puck lights. I’ve had some last 3 months and others that are still strong after 2 years. In a pinch, I want to be able to fall back quickly to a traditional bulb. Lastly, until the finishing work is complete, I need functional lighting. Without a hole in a finished ceiling, the puck light would just dangle. Not only does the springs hold just fine in the can housing, but the box has ample room to fit as well while not requiring the removal of the traditional bulb base. These can lights were amazing to install. Expandable legs to fit various gap sizes. Has a slide to position the lights “just right” for that professional alignment. Metallic protection on the wires so when the future roofing is required, some protection exists when the nailers get wild. Junction box has amble room for multiple connections. Once aligned, comes with a screw to lock it on the tracks. Also has a vertical depth mount for ceiling thickness and a bulb base adjustment for the right bulb depth. Seems like a good deal in the bulk package and has a very solid and quality feel.

This 6-pack of 6-inch recessed lighting housings is a practical choice for new construction or larger lighting projects where you need multiple fixtures installed efficiently. The IC-rated and airtight design makes it suitable for insulated ceilings, which is important for both safety and energy efficiency.Installation is straightforward for new construction framing. The adjustable hanger bars make it easy to position and secure the housings between joists, and they provide a stable, sturdy fit once locked in place. The E26 base gives flexibility in choosing compatible bulbs, which is helpful if you want to customize brightness or color temperature later on.The build quality feels solid and contractor-grade, with metal components that hold up well during installation and long-term use. Once mounted, the housings feel secure and properly aligned, which helps ensure clean, even lighting once the trims and bulbs are added. The airtight design is a nice feature, helping reduce air leakage through the ceiling and improving overall efficiency. Being ETL listed also adds confidence in safety and compliance standards, especially for larger home or renovation projects. These housings are not decorative on their own—they’re meant to be the foundation of a recessed lighting system—but they perform exactly as expected for that purpose. They pair well with a wide range of trims and LED bulbs, giving flexibility in the final look and brightness level.Overall, this is a dependable, well-built recessed lighting housing set that offers good value for contractors or DIYers working on new construction. It’s functional, sturdy, and designed to make installing recessed lighting straightforward and reliable.

The recessed lighting housings feel durable and well constructed, making them a solid choice for new construction or remodeling projects. The included templates are a helpful addition that make ceiling cutouts easier and more accurate while the integrated junction boxes and adjustable mounting brackets simplify installation. The housings have a sturdy metal build and appear comparable to higher end options commonly used in residential and commercial settings. While canless LEDs have become more popular, these traditional IC rated housings are still useful in applications where a recessed can is preferred or required.

These are virtually identical to the standard GE six-pack recessed can light housing available in big box stores. They are marked slightly more expensive than in the big stores though. Build quality is great; easy installation. No problems connecting hardwired electrical conduit required in Midwest building codes.

Very standard light receptacle. Same design is used by many manufacturers, virtually no difference. Ceramic socket, thermal protection, everything looks up to snuff. These are ETL listed and not UL listed, which honestly is fine by me. UL listing costs money, ETL listing is cheaper and really just as good.Still, I’m knocking a star because the price ($70 for six at time of writing) just isn’t very impressive. I can buy UL listed units that are essentially identical at the local big box store individually for a bit cheaper. Again, these are all basically identical so the only thing we are comparing here is price.

Good quality recessed can housings. These are not super commonly used anymore in residential with the advent of canless LEDs but they are still required/advised in some cases and usually needed in commercial applications. These are well-made, have nails pre-installed in the rails, have a junction box for easy wiring, and come with a template for the ceiling cutout.
