The stainless steel construction provides a much more substantial screen while still allowing airflow.Installation takes a little more effort, but that's a tradeoff I'm happy to make for something that's going to encounter claws.PRO TIPAfter cutting the mesh, pay special attention to the exposed edges and make sure they're completely captured by the frame or trim.A stainless screen may help keep the cat where it belongs.The tiny stainless porcupine you've created around the perimeter should also stay where it belongs.

This was perfect, just what I needed, super strong; I have to get a smaller spline in order for the screen and spline to fit in the same groove, old spline was too big.

I used this stainless screen over crawl-space vents, where its stiffness and resistance to chewing matter more than the flexibility of ordinary fiberglass mesh. It cuts and forms with the right tools, stays flat once fastened, and creates a much more convincing barrier against small animals. The metal construction also makes sense in an exposed area where softer screen can be pushed out or damaged.This material is worth considering for pet-prone windows, porch repairs, vent covers, and other places that need more protection than insect screen alone. It takes more effort to trim and handle, so gloves and proper snips are a good idea. For a simple window that never sees claws or pests, cheaper mesh will be easier to install. For vulnerable openings, the added strength justifies the extra work. Check your size to ensure you will have enough your project. You don't get a whole lot for the money, but it is stainless steel which will function much better over the long term.

We have a couple of feral cats that roam our yard and keep pests away. We reward them with a safe space to sleep and a bit of food every day. They show their "gratitude" by dragging their claws on one of our window screens all the time. As you can imagine, this hasn't gone well for the screen.Well, this stuff seems to have hit the reset button on our window screen and so far, it's holding up after about 2 weeks of "testing." Replacing the screen on the window was very easy, but I did have to find the right gasket material, as the old one ended up needing replacement. It was available at our home improvement store, so no big deal. There was a cheap kit available at the store to help with the process, and it went very smoothly. I like the way it looks.I do wish I had this in a larger roll so that I could tackle my sliding screen door, but I'll have to leave that for a future project. At least now I know it's not super hard to do.

I used this screen mesh to replace the worn-out screen on my front storm/screen door, and it worked out great.
