When you unpackage it, you look at the way the strip is coiled up and think that the innermost portion of the strip will be hard to straighten out because it will have memory that makes it want to curl back up. That is not the case; unraveling it, it returns to straight, except for the last half inch. For my 2-car garage, there was enough left over to do one side again, so I saved it. It comes with the 36' strip, 40 self-tapping screws, and screw covers.The adhesive is surprisingly strong, but you will still want to use the screws as well. Application was simple, and I started with each side of the door first and then the top. I cut the strip to length, plus about an inch using scissors. My garage door frame has wood trim, and the self-tapping screws bit into that easily without any pre-drilling. Starting from the top side, I removed a couple of feet of the adhesive backing, applied the strip to the frame, and then added screws about every foot or so; I just used a strip of cardboard as a measuring template.You need to put the screw cap on the screw before driving it in. Your instinct may be to drive the screw on tightly, but you must resist this urge; drive it in until the screw cap does not move freely, otherwise the screw cover can deform and not close. As a final installation step, I trimmed the little bit of excess trim from the end using a razor blade. The installed seal looks tight enough to realistically block out mice. I'd describe my garage as one of those spaces that collects everything…tools, bikes, holiday decorations, bags of mulch, and whatever project I'm currently in the middle of. Lately I'd noticed more dust than usual finding its way inside, and after a heavy rain I could tell the weather stripping around the door had definitely seen better days. This seal kit turned out to be a worthwhile weekend project that made a visible difference.The first thing I noticed when I unrolled it was the material itself. It feels substantial without being stiff, and even after being coiled in the box it relaxed fairly quickly. The rubber has enough flexibility to work with corners and slight imperfections around the door frame without flimsiness.Installation was manageable for a DIY project. I measured everything twice, trimmed it with a good pair of scissors, and installed it over the course of an afternoon. The adhesive grabbed on well, but I still liked that the kit includes screws for extra security. Using both made me feel much more confident that it will stay put through changing seasons instead of peeling away after a few months. The matching screw covers were a cool finishing touch because they give everything a much cleaner, more finished appearance than exposed screw heads.After installation, the difference was immediately noticeable. The small gaps along the top and sides that used to let in dust and little bits of leaves are now sealed up nicely. During a recent rainstorm I checked inside expecting to find the usual damp spots near the corners, but everything stayed dry. I also noticed the garage seems a little quieter with the door closed, especially when the neighborhood gets busy.It isn't completely perfect, though. The adhesive is very sticky, which is great once it's in place, but it also means you don't get many second chances if your initial alignment is off. I'd definitely recommend taking your time and working in small sections instead of trying to stick the entire length on at once. Also, while cutting the material is easy, installing a full 36 foot strip is much easier with a second set of hands, especially if you're working on a larger garage door.Doesn’t seem like much but you notice the benefits every time you open and close the garage. Better protection from the weather, less debris blowing inside, a cleaner look, and a fairly easy installation make it an easy product to recommend.

My house, and the original seal around the garage door, is 20 years old. The original seal is south-facing and is cracked, warped and falling off. I'm very glad I got to try this seal kit and am mostly pleased with it.The strip is easy to measure/cut (scissors) and bend for installation. Simply cut the length you need for the top, pull back the red covering on the adhesive about a foot, press the end into the corner and fold along the seam and press the adhesive section to the top with the flap extending down into the garage opening. Bend and press the seam in as you go across, peeling more of the tab as you go across. Once done with the top, do the same with the sides (starting at the top).While the adhesive will hold for a bit, you will want to use the screws to attach the strip for long-term. The kit comes with a bag of screw-top covers. You insert the screw into the hole of the cover, drive the screw into the wall then fold the top of the cover and press until it snaps into place. This isn't necessary but it helps hide the screw and is more visually appealing.The problem is that the hole in some of the covers is either too big, or the plastic is too soft and when you install the screws, it goes right past the cover and the cover falls off. I certainly am not a perfectionist so I wasn't going to unscrew and start over with another cover, I just left them. I would say about 1 out of every 4 covers did this. Not a deal breaker, but this might drive some people nuts.I also wasn't super strict about getting straight lines. I should have probably used a tool to help with pressure on the fold as I was bending to install. Know how picky you are and how much it will bother you if the lines aren't perfectly straight. If you need, getting something rigid to help push in the fold to get it tight as you install.The seal is a good thickness, seems thicker than the original that I had to cut off. The seal did a great job of minimizing the huge gaps I had. I used to be able to see direct sunlight through cracks along the sides of the garage door. These are significantly smaller and will help with temperature control in summer and winter.The biggest drawback is that it is only available in black and white. This seal does not match my current trim, which makes it stand out. I'm more about function than fashion, so again...not a deal breaker. I'm not sure how well these would accept/hold paint if you wanted to match your existing trim.I wouldn't call this airtight as advertised, but it is WORLD's better than what I had and I no longer have direct sunbeams coming into my garage from the sides of the door. Huge win!

Fairly flat because it comes in a roll.Hopefully it will bend and hold its shape after installingProduct should overhang door by 11/2 " and considering its flat it should stay firmly against the door when its closed.Very bright white and semi pliable.Not sure how it will hold up with sun or extreme cold just yet
