Perfect for LVP installation

[Color: Green]
This floor gap fixer tool with its oversized 4.7-inch silicone suction cup feels like an absolute game-changer. I cannot wait to use it when installing the Lifeproof Oak luxury vinyl plank flooring at the Reno property. It promises a massive vacuum seal that locks right onto the planks for easy adjustment.Anyone who has laid flooring knows the deep frustration of tapping one plank into place only to have the others slide out of alignment. This suction tool is exactly what is needed to pull the seams perfectly tight without damaging the interlocking edges of the planks.

The JexexaFlotuar “Floor Gap Fixer Tool with 4.7" Silicone Suction Cup Complete Floor Gap Repair Kit with 8 Sticky Pads & Grout Removal Tool - Professional Gap Closer for Laminate, Vinyl Plank & Hardwood Floors (Orange)” is a handy tool for closing gaps in laminate flooring. Understand, I hate laminate flooring; it never lives up to the seller's hype. This tool is a prime example of that need. So, if you have laminate, you will need this. The box doesn't include any instructions, so I will help you. If your laminate is not smooth, you will need to use the included clear adhesive stickers. If you clean dust and debris off your laminate, you should be able to reuse a sticker over a dozen times. The kit includes a hooked tool that I used to clean dirt from the seam. I also used a shop vac and brush to thoroughly clean the seam because any leftover debris will cause the seam to separate again. Place the sticker and/or suction cup tool close to the seam you are closing, then tap it with a rubber mallet. It helps to have another person standing on the opposite laminate to prevent moving the whole row. If you keep having trouble getting the suction cup to stick, you might need to mist it with spray adhesive and let it get tacky. I didn't have this problem, but I'm sharing it to give you options. Good tool to have.

Did not work on my floor.Did not work on my floor.

This might work on floors where the planks move more easily than mine. After four blows with the hammer on each attempt, the suction cup device would slide off the plastic sheet. It also did not come with directions. I would not recommend this product.

Works great to close the gaps!Works great to close the gaps!

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
I had a few LVP shift over the years and wanted a simple solution to fix the few gaps. This suction cup tool worked perfectly! I used just the suction cup on too of a plank to tap one gap closed and then utilized the enclosed sticky pad to get more grip with the suction cup on another gap. I was able to tap both planks back to a better position to close the gaps with no issues. The suction grip is sturdy and strong when the center handle is pushed down into place and although I didn’t think I’d need it, I did use the included grout remover tool to dislodge some very tiny pebbles/grit before tapping the plank gap closed. The suction cup has a felt piece on the bumper where you strike it to absorb some sound and the impact, and my rubber hammer had plenty of surface area to strike that plate comfortably. The cup itself is a nice wide size to grip the floor plank well. Overall, I’m super happy with this gap closer tool!

Handy Tool for Small Flooring GapsHandy Tool for Small Flooring Gaps

[Color: Orange, Color: Orange]
This flooring gap fixer seems plenty sturdy for occasional use around the house. Just keep in mind that this is a tool for fixing small gaps in existing flooring, not a standard installation tool for laying LVP, hardwood floors, or other flooring. The kit includes 7 removable adhesive squares that can be used when the flooring is rough or bumpy, or when the suction cup can't pull a solid vacuum. I would recommend cleaning the flooring really well before applying an adhesive square. This will not only give the tool a better surface to grip and allow it to apply more force, but should also help the adhesive squares remain reusable instead of picking up dust and debris and losing their effectiveness. It also includes a "grout removal tool," although it's really more useful for clearing debris out of the gap before closing it.Please note that there are no instructions or other documentation included with this tool.Overall, this is a nice tool to keep around the house. It's useful for closing up small gaps that were either the result of a less-than-perfect initial installation or that have developed in the flooring over time. For occasional repairs, it's a handy tool to have available.

High-quality, heavy-duty suction cup grabberHigh-quality, heavy-duty suction cup grabber

[Color: Green, Color: Green]
This tool is great for the right application. If you need to grab or tap a very flat floor plank, glass panel, or tile, this heavy-duty suction cup will do it. I like that it is metal, strong, and well-made. I have cheaper plastic suction cup grabbers, but this one is sturdier, made of metal, and has a better rubber suction cup for gripping. When testing this out, I found that the suction is very strong if the surface is very smooth like glass or varnished, smooth wood. (It also helps if you mist the surfaces with a bit of water.) It will not work on textured or porous surfaces. The suction cup needs to be on an area that is as large as the cup. You can't have part of the suction cup over a seam or grout line. The clear plastic squares that are included can solve this problem. The suction cup handle also has a side pad for tapping a plank or other item into place. I have hardwood floors throughout my home, so this is very helpful for tapping loose boards back into place. However, some of my planks in some rooms are narrower than the suction cup. This is why the 8 clear plastic squares are included. They adhere to the plank (or tile), and then the suction cup can be applied to the plastic square. I have not used the plastic squares yet, so I hope the adhesive is not such that it will damage the plank or leave residue. The kit also includes a grout removal tool. It is basically a plastic handle with a thin, hook-shaped metal "blade" that folds out. This might be of use to some, but I have better options in my tool kit already. Don't buy this for the grout removal tool. The fact that this suction cup handle is made of metal and has a strong level of suction and quality components make it a good value in my book. There are cheaper plastic versions out there, and I own a few, but this one so far seems to be of superior strength and durability. Five stars from me.(Full disclosure - I received this item as an Amazon Vine reviewer, but my review is 100% honest, objective, and based on actual use of the item. I rate a product with 5 stars when I believe it is of high quality, fully functional, and a great value, 4 stars when it serves its purpose but might be more expensive than other options or less than ideal in quality or performance, 3 stars or less when it seems to have multiple significant quality or performance issues.)
