We have some stairs in our house that we had to remove the carpet and I am not ready to recarpet or refinish them yet. Let me just say I am a pro at falling down and up stairs. I was nervous about these because if there is a way to trip and fall, catch a corner I will find that way. I was sure that there would be corners that came up or I was going to have issues.I WAS WRONG!! I've never been so happy to say that!!These lay flat without the double sided tape. I did add the tape because I was worried but even without it they laid flat. I left the bottom 2 stairs without tape for the first week just to see if there was movement but they stayed very well.I feel comfortable and safe walking on these and they look good and are very high quality. The rubber backing is durable and these are very easy to vacuum.I am very very happy with these.

For 15 of these stair treads, the price is very reasonable. They’re easy to install, and although they do have some grip on the back, I think the included rug tape is necessary to keep them in place. My only feedback is there weren’t any instructions included for installation. It’s fairly self explanatory, but I’d recommend just using a piece of tape down each of the sides. I started by running the tape along both the long edges of each tread and quickly realized I wouldn’t have enough for them all. I had to get creative to get make it last and ultimately ran out. Not a huge deal and inexpensive, but I will have to buy another roll eventually. Regardless they have improved the safety and sound of my stairs. I haven’t washed the treads yet so I can’t report on how they hold up, but I was happy to see they are described as washable.

ProsI am liking these stair treads for wooden stairs. I have around 15–16 staircases in my home, and I am already using one set and decided to try these as well. They are 8 x 30 inches in size, and I ordered the set of 15. These stair treads feel super soft and have a very natural fiber-like feel. Their appearance looks very similar to cotton, even though they are made of polyester. They are fade-resistant, non-shedding, and non-toxic. The non-shedding claim is definitely true because I have not noticed even the slightest shedding. They have a woven texture surface that feels breathable and comfortable under foot. I also found these stair treads to be highly absorbent. I poured about half a glass of water on one of them, and it absorbed the water very quickly. I really like this feature because spills can happen when going up or down the stairs, and these treads soak up moisture effectively. Installation is super easy. They do not have a sticky adhesive layer. Instead, they have a non-slip rubber backing. You simply clean the staircase and place the treads where you want them. I was initially worried that the treads might move around, slide, or become a tripping hazard. To my surprise, they stay firmly in place and do not move while walking. Even in high-traffic areas, they remain secure.Since they do not have adhesive backing, they are easy to remove for cleaning and then place back on the stairs. The non-slip rubber backing does an excellent job of keeping them in place. I am stress free because I have kids and definitely look for safety first. They are easy to clean and reusable. They appear to be stain-resistant as well. For everyday cleaning, vacuuming works perfectly. You can also rinse them with water, and if needed, machine wash them in a laundry bag. I have not machine washed them yet because they are still fairly new. The 8 x 30-inch size provides good coverage for most staircases, leaving only a small border visible around the edges.ConsWhen first opened, there was a slight odor from the polyester material. However, I left them out for about 24 hours, and the smell disappeared completely. Because the odor went away quickly, it was not a significant concern for me.Overall VerdictThese stair treads have exceeded my expectations. They are soft, comfortable, absorbent, easy to install, and stay securely in place without the need for adhesive backing. The non-slip rubber backing works very well, making them a safe option even for high-traffic staircases. They are also easy to clean, reusable, and provide excellent coverage. Aside from a slight initial odor that disappeared after a day, I have not experienced any issues. Overall, I am extremely happy with these stair treads and would highly recommend them for anyone looking to add comfort, safety, and style to their wooden stairs.

I ordered these because I have 13 stairs in my house but only three of them going downstairs have treads on them. I was never able to match the existing Treads to any I could find online so I ordered these with the intention of replacing all of the treads on the stairs going both up and down. When we got them we first opened the box to see them and then set them in the living room. My husband said they smelled like tires and he could smell them all night long while we watched TV. The next day we took them out of the box to try .and install them but the smell literally gagged me, they smelled like tires. I suggested we put them outside to air out for a hours, we did that but it didn't seem to help much. For that reason I decided to try and install them on just the stairs going to the basement at first. They did include a small roll of tape to tape around the outside edges so they wouldn't go anywhere or be slippery, but the tape didn't seem to help much, they slid even with the tape on them, they just didn't stay in place well. Underneath my old treads I used a diamonded sticky back two-sided tape that covered the whole underside of the tread and worked great, you can see it in the photo. If I set the new tread on top of that sticky back tape then the tread stayed in place and didn't go any place. With the bottom of the Treads being made out of rubber I would have thought it would have stayed in place much better whether with or without any type of sticky back tape but that was not the case. Another thing I didn't care for was that when you looked at it from an angle or even from the top there was an awful lot of white color of the fabric that showed through. I didn't like this for two reasons, one was because I wanted them for purposes of wear and tear and to keep gunk off of the rest of my floors when you entered the house, I feel like the white is just going to show more of it. Secondly, because I really wanted the threads to just blend in with the stairs and not be obvious but it wasn't like that. I will say that they do seem to be made of quality materials, the stitching is very good and the fabric seems to be of a very durable quality, clearly these would not wear out for a very very long time so they would be extremely durable, however you have to be able to put up with the smell and to be honest I just wasn't thrilled with the pattern either once I saw it in person up close. I give it five stars for the quality materials and the manufacturing process, but as recommendations go I can only give it three stars, this is because of the smell, because of the impractical white coloring that was not obvious in the Amazon ad, and because they definitely do not stay in place well. They're probably a great product for the right application but I can't have the smell in my home.
