I used these L angle brackets for a heavy shelving unit I built in my garage and I have to say they are built tough. The steel is thick and heavy. When you pick one up you can feel the difference compared to the thin stamped brackets you find at the big box stores. These feel like they are meant for real load bearing work. The 6 by 6 by 5 inch size gave me plenty of surface area to secure both the vertical post and the horizontal shelf frame. I used lag bolts through the pre drilled holes and the brackets held everything square and tight. There is zero flex or wobble even when I load the shelves up with heavy tools and storage bins. The corners stayed perfectly true which is something I always worry about with big builds.I really like that they come as a pair because I needed two for my project and having matching brackets meant both sides of my shelf unit had identical support. The black finish looks clean and it has not shown any rust or corrosion despite sitting in my garage where humidity can get pretty high.If you are building anything that needs real structural support and you want brackets that will hold up under weight without bending or failing, these are absolutely the ones to get. They turned my DIY shelf into something that feels professionally built.

I have no arguments or complaints with these brackets – they are the real deal when it comes to heavy-duty capacity, no doubt due to their solid, heavy, 6mm (just about ¼-inch) steel construction. Before I even opened the box I knew I wasn’t dealing with some overhyped sheet metal junk, lol, these things are heavy, and rock solid. If you need brackets that are seriously strong, with included quality lags, these are worth a look, but they will be overkill for light duty needs. They have a smooth black powder coated finish that appears to be well done, so they actually look nice, and the powder coating should protect the steel below to prevent or minimize corrosion over the long term. The included lags are basically excellent. They are self-tapping, and you can drive them with a torx or a hex bit. The flanged heads of the lags are serrated, so they will dig into and damage the power coat (but they are design like that to prevent loosening). For my project, I will be using a black washer on each lag to prevent it from marring the finish and exposing the area to possible corrosion in the future.Bottom line – these are very solid brackets – very heavy duty indeed, with an excellent finish on them. The included lags are also superb. The current price of $35 in my opinion, is reasonable and reflects the fact that you are not getting cheap, weak, thin brackets – these are the real deal.

These brackets are very well made and heavy duty. For the project I am working on, accuracy of the 90 degrees was fundamental, and these did not disappoint. I first checked them with my steel carpenter square and then with my digital angle finder and found 90.0 degrees. The powder coating is very consistently applied and looks good. They came with 16 black, 4 inch socket head wood screws. They were also nicely packaged to prevent banging against each other. It may seem a little pricey but weighing in at more than 7 pounds they are well worth it.

Definately heavy duty and well built. The mounting screws were excellent and strong enough to use a ratchet to tighten.

These L angle brackets are exactly what I needed for adding extra support to a wood project. The steel construction feels heavy duty and sturdy, and the finish looks clean and durable. The size is also very useful for providing solid reinforcement without taking up an excessive amount of space. They were easy to install and lined up well with my project. Once secured, they provide a noticeable amount of strength and stability. I like that they can be used for a variety of applications, from reinforcing shelves and tables to supporting furniture, framing, and other woodworking projects. For a four-piece set, the value is very good, especially considering how solid and versatile these brackets are. They feel like they’re built to handle regular use and should hold up well over time. Overall, these are a simple but effective hardware item that offers good quality, durability, and plenty of uses around the house or workshop.

This review is for a package of 4 L-shaped steel angle brackets branded as FMhotu and also being sold by FMhotu. These metal brackets do measure 4" x 4" x 3" wide and with a orange peel texture glossy black powder coated finish. There are no sharp edges or corners. The 3" width works out well for joining 4x4's.My package shipped with 32 screws 1/4" x 3" with a combination T25 and 5/16" hex head. These screws are self drilling when used in a standard SPF, cedar or treated structural lumber. However, they may require pilot holes for harder woods. The inner bracket holes are a bit close to the corner, so you may need a flex bit driver for those screw positions. The screws are black, but there is no specific information about the coating. They may be potential rust problems. At the time of my purchase and writing of htis review, when viewing the listing with the 4" x 4" x 3" option selected, the "About this item" text below read "Crafted from 1/4" (6mm) thick solid steel". My measurement of the thickness of the steel was 0.115", which is less than 1/8". My expectation was for 1/4" thick brackets. I had read the descriptive text and thought I knew what the thickness of these brackets would be. I felt no need to look further. After they arrived, upon detailed examination of the pictures, I did find an illustration showing 3mm thickness for these brackets. The listing is contradictory and I was mislead. I also suspect the claim "Each pair can support up to 300 lbs" does not apply to these thinner brackets. These are nice brackets, but they fall short of the "heavy duty" description.

I was very pleased with these 4x4x3 L Brackets. The steel construction is heavy-duty and durable, providing solid reinforcement for pergolas, fences, deck projects, and other wood structures. Once installed, they add noticeable stability and give the project a much more secure feel. The powder-coated finish is clean and professional while helping protect the brackets from outdoor exposure. The black color blends nicely with most projects and doesn't stand out like unfinished hardware. Installation is straightforward thanks to the pre-drilled mounting holes. Everything lined up well with standard 4x4 lumber, and the brackets were easy to position and secure. The design provides strong 90-degree support without making the installation process complicated. The size and fit are excellent for 4x4 applications. The brackets fit securely and provide plenty of contact area for a strong connection between wood components. They worked exactly as expected and felt very solid once tightened down. These brackets are quite versatile, useful for pergolas, deck framing, fencing, workbenches, outdoor structures, and many other projects where additional corner support is needed. The heavy steel construction gives them a reassuring weight and sturdy feel. The overall build quality inspires confidence for long-term use. Value for money is excellent. The combination of strength, durability, ease of installation, and attractive appearance makes these brackets a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to build or reinforce outdoor wood structures. Overall, these brackets are strong, reliable, easy to install, and provide excellent support. They are a great choice for anyone looking for durable hardware that performs well and looks good once installed.
