This is a beautiful black, lantern-like, hardwired wall-mounted light.Dislike features: ripple glass as a shade, which is a textured glass that softly diffuses glare. The white is also waterproof.The light uses a standard E26 base and fits into standard US Junction boxes. It has a mounting plate. The installation is not complex if you already have a junction box. Should you choose to do the installation yourself? I have three caveats for you.First, make absolutely certain you’ve turned off the power at the circuit breaker control panel box in your home. And in most homes, the circuit breaker control panel box is located in the basement. And in some homes, the circuit breaker control box is located in the garage, particularly if you do not have a basement. Once you locate the circuit brake control panel box secure the Services, a friend to stand by the junction box with whatever light you have in operation currently and make sure it’s turned on have them watch that light for you while you talk to them on cell phone while turning off circuit practice until you turn off the circuit breaker that turns off the light switch the light junction box they’re watching. When they say you’ve turned it off, flash it three or four times to make sure you have the correct one, then turn the circuit breaker off.Second, take an electrical testing device. Never do any electrical work without an electrical testing device in your pocket. It can be very important and can help prevent that injury. I always carry one, but it looks like a little red carpenter's pen with a button on top. I touch the button on top of the pen; the pen's light turns a little red. I put the tip of the pen near any energized wire; it starts chirping like a bird. If I put the pen near a light, it flashes. If I put the tip of the pen near a 240 V clothing dryer line, it will chirp twice as fast and flash the light twice as fast, indicating the dangerous electrical hazard. This is an important safety device to have with you when you’re doing electricThird, many folks do not know how to use a wire lock up most manufacturers use two forms of connecting wires from the fixture to the house service side one form that’s in lesser use is a spring connection where the wires placed into a plastic device with metal springs will match the black with the black and the white with the white the green with the bar copper wire and just can by snapping into a spring. The more traditional way is to use wire lock nuts. Electricians feel the spring devices can weaken over time and cause the circuit to be interrupted, not light, or not work correctly. Why do lock nuts not have that concern when using a wire lock nut correctly? Let’s start with the black wire from the house service side, which is 14-gauge single-strand copper. The black wire for the fixture is 28-gauge multi-strand copper. Place the points of these two wires, with the last half centimeter of insulation removed, adjacent to one another and pointing in the same direction, then cover both points with the wire lock and turn clockwise until a firm, mechanical and electrical connection has been established. Do the same thing with the white wire and the same thing with the green WThis is a beautiful outdoor fixture that will give lots of light for the outdoor area you wish to light I would not use anything larger than 50 W of LED power and that’s a tremendous amount of light as you will recall that 9 W of LED power is the equivalent of an old style 100 W incandescent lamp so if you have a 40 or 50 W light that would be equivalent of having four or 500 W lightbulbs all burned together that would be a lot of light. You would probably not want that; I need that. That would be up to you and your discretion and deciding what type of lightbulb to acquire.Throw more with this fixture because even though it’s ripple glass, people will still be able to see the lightbulb itself; therefore, make certain you get an attractive LED. I would recommend what they call an Edison-style LED bulb with clear glass, where you can see what look like filaments. They’re not LED lights, but they look like filaments, and they’re more attractive to look at than the sometimes blue squares that are used in LED lights or a frosted LED light.

This light fixture is much more heavy duty than I expected. Thankfully, the metal isn’t flimsy and feels much more premium than the price suggests.Installation was straightforward, even though I’ve never been a fan of crossbar mounting brackets. However, if you’re simply replacing an existing light fixture, the installation should only take a few minutes. I recommend using the included crossbar rather than reusing your old one, as the sizing is usually different.The fixture comes with everything needed for installation except for the light bulb. I think the price is excellent for what you get. The only drawback I found is that it doesn’t include a built-in dusk-to-dawn light sensor.
