Grabbed four packs of these for our volunteer fire department and the crew was impressed with the build quality right out of the box — these are not toy tools, they're heavy duty and feel like they can handle real emergency situations. The multipurpose design means each tool covers several functions without having to carry a whole bag full of individual pieces which matters when every second counts. Finish and construction look like they'll hold up to regular use and the occasional rough handling that comes with the job. Four stars because tools like these really need to be put through actual use before you can fully vouch for them — but first impressions from the crew are solid and that means a lot coming from people who know what they need.

I appreciate having reliable pry tools and specialized equipment on hand for various construction and/or maintenance tasks. However, this kit arrived with virtually no instructions on the specific applications for each profile and notch. I had to spend some time looking up how to properly use each tool online so that I could actually understand what to do with this kit. It definitely took a serious time investment to figure that part out on my own, but once I did, these tools actually do work pretty great for leveraging and prying and gaining access to closed doors. These are solid tools, but the manufacturer really ought to include some detailed instructions on how to use what tool and where.

I’ve got a few sets of this type of tool — and this is the best set yet. They are solid and very well made. Of course, we have to remember that the first thing we are to do is turn the door handle — sometimes it works. When it doesn’t, the next alternative, before forced entry, is often one of these “leverage” or “swipe” tools. Whether they work or not depends on the door (and whether it opens in or out), the molding, and the weather stripping. This is a very complete set with many alternatives — each focused on a specific situation. The key for us is to know for which situation each is best situated AND how to use the tool. There are no instructions with the set probably because it would be hard to draft written directions to explain how to use them; fortunately, there are a lot of videos out there to help us develop the skills needed to effectively use the tools. For me, the trick was watching them and practicing on different doors. For every door where one might want a thicker/stronger/non-bendable tool, there will be another where thin and flexible does the trick. I think this set gives enough options. The bottom line for me: to be proficient with the many tools in this set one must seek out training materials and work toward proficiency. That’s on us, not the tools. Function, form and value make this an important addition to my kit. I’m very pleased I got them.

You never know when you will need a kit like this but when you do it can be a priceless necessity. The kit includes an entry tool, pry bar, double hook bar, and single hook bar. They also include a pamphlet with pictures of the tools with different lock interfaces although there are no real instructions. Just be knowledgeable about your local laws and restrictions because in the wrong place or setting these can be looked at as burglary tools and could cause you a real headache. Overall it’s a nice complete and compact kit and a pretty solid value and I can definitely recommend it.

More often than not, you find yourself ringing every doorbell or knocking on random windows to find someone to let you in. With this kit, you may just be able to let yourself in.The kit comes in a plastic bag with four different entry tools designed to defeat various lock types. There is also a single sheet of paper included that shows pictures of the individual tools pulling and pushing locking mechanisms. The kit is the perfect size to fit in a duty bag, but I wish it came with some kind of nylon case rather than a clear plastic bag. In addition, the single sheet of paper is a poor substitute for instructions on how to use the individual tools and I wish there were more instructions included. Essentially, you need to find a series of locked doors and continually practice using the tools properly on your own.Finally, if you aren't a first responder, you need to be aware that some jurisdictions might classify this kit as "burglary tools" which could land you in legal trouble for possessing it.
