Flooring Gap Repair Tool

This floor gap fixer is super cool if you have small medium gaps in your hardwood or LVP flooring. We just completely remodeled our home and took out all the carpet and put in LVP and we absolutely love it, though as it has settled, we have noticed some gaps in between some of the boards, this tool has allowed us to completely close those gaps as they open up due to normal movement of the floors in the house. It is so easy to use, you are able to just suction it onto the floor and then lightly tap with a hammer or mallet and it repositions the board to close up the gap. Don’t get me wrong, I did not do this myself, my husband did it, but I watched him and I assisted. The tool is very high-quality made of what seems to be really good parts and it is very stable which is definitely a mask when you’re suctioning it onto the floor and hitting it with a mallet. It weighs a couple pounds at most and it is super easy to maneuver between boards. If you have new flooring or old flooring, this is the way to fix those pesky spaces.

But if it was nailed down the shrinking and shifting of the floor plank should be limited

This is a tool for repairing gaps in laminate flooring, hardwood flooring as well as other types. I have similar tools like this that were a complete disappointment and did not work. This one surprised me with the more durable parts as well as the over all quality of this tool. Even the silicone suction cup is very high quality and holds onto the boards without sliding and letting go. I was able to actually repair the gaps in my manufactured plank flooring and it looks like it did when it was put in.This is an easy to use tool and it actually works where the others I tried have failed.I am happy to say this was worth the price and I recommend it.

This is a nice addition to the toolbox for fixing flooring issues. As someone who does a lot of punch list or failed attempts at all types of projects this is great for flooring gaps. It saves me from pulling trim off to get a hook bar behind the edge or using masking tape and CA glue to try and get a block that I can hammer on attached, with half the time it flying off on the third hit. This has a super strong suction cup and solid build that lets me do it all with less work, less frustration and better results. Nice tool that seems to work well so far and fills a need that can save in several ways.

I had some issues getting this to stick to my floor in a couple of places, but after messing with it a little bit, I was able to get it suctioned down nice and tight. I was tapping and getting very little movement for a bit and then all of a sudden the gap was gone and the plank was exactly where it needed to be... Or at least I thought so. Turns out the plank had actually broken in half. So the gap I was trying to get rid of was indeed gone, now I just had a pesky jagged one in the middle of a plank instead of between two of them. All in all, it feels like a decent enough product and is easy enough to use that I would not have a problem with it and if I knew my plank was the problem I wouldn't fault it as much.

This floor gap adjuster is a significant value for being such a high-quality and rugged tool. It is a welded, thick steel construction. It can take a pounding with absolutely no problem.Furthermore, it performs flawlessly. The suction cup is very impressive in how well it holds. It's a simple process to move the lever to clamp it down. It holds tight and secure as you pound a hammer on the pads to nudge the gaps closed. I use a dead blow hammer for this, but they did attach some felt pads to the hammer faces to keep the noise down and bounce to minimum if a claw hammer is used.For some floors, the texture of the wood doesn't allow for the suction cup to be effective. In this case, they have included some double-stick pads. These pads seem to be the high-tech reusable double-stick type that lasts for many uses. They can be washed off with water when needed. Left to dry to resume being sticky. Keep the plastic cover that is peeled off to expose the adhesive, as it can be reused to store the sticky pads. Occasionally these pads hold very well and can be challenging to remove. I keep plastic spatula tool ready to help separate the sticky pad from the floor when required.We have some narrow wood floors in one room that have beveled edges. The suction cup doesn't work on this type of floor, but these sticky pads definitely do. The pads can be cut to better stick to a single wood strip if needed.When installing a floating wood floor, the instructions always say to leave space for expansion on the edges. Alas, they never mention when expansion is the greatest. In our case, this is the summer. Humidity is very high in the summer, and our wood floors expand in width mainly, with some minor expansion in length.In the winter, our floating wood floors tend to shrink as there is less humidity in the air. The gaps in the floor can become noticeable.This tool will help me adjust the gap to be more consistent between summer and winter humidity.The included crevice cleaning tool is an excellent addition. It is nice and thin, yet still strong enough to scrape out any accumulations in the crevices. It's very clever.This is an incredibly useful tool for the installation and maintenance of wood flooring. It can also be used for ceramic tiles and thick vinyl tiles to nudge them into a perfect fit.This is a significant value tool and highly recommended!
