My initial review text below applies strictly to the build quality and performance of the double-cup variant.This dually version of the single cup is a lovely tool I wish had been invented 15 years ago when I was installing a lot of vinyl plank flooring. Or, if it was invented, I wish I'd known about it because the other tools of choice are metal implements that work but occasionally damage material. Suction cups have been available to move material and for dent repair. but they aren't made to literally take a beating. Another great application for this would be for flat, commercial panel siding or large, interior hanging panels that need minor adjustment.Regarding flooring applications, there is an extra step involved with locking down the cup—as opposed to hitting an L-shaped or other flooring tool—but I can now rest assured, knowing I can't possibly damage material. Also, this tool will allow adjustment of floating floors after a completed installation if they shift, or if perfect alignment was overlooked as it's being installed.That being said, there is one tool included—aside from the rubber mallet and suction cup—that is so cheap it's absolutely useless. I've held fake toy tools that feel more useful than this thing. What a waste of production costs for this tool setup. It probably wouldn't last one use, let alone one day. I would easily give 5-stars if this extra tool were left out. While buyers will likely expect a well-made, functional flip-out tool, I am reducing my rating by one star.Overall, this gap fixer tool is easy to use, lightweigt, seems durable enough to last awhile, and has double the power of a single cup!

I’m not complaining, but the item that I received doesn’t look like what was in the picture in the listing. Instead of it having a single suction cup with two surfaces to whack with a hammer this one has two big suction cups and a very heavy steel housing that holds them together.I don’t have any laminate flooring in my home, but I got this with the intent of helping out some friends and family and fixing some gaps in their homes where they use this type of flooring. I just recently had shoulder surgery so I’m not in any condition to be swinging a hammer at this point, but I feel pretty confident that this little gizmo is going to work very well for its intended purpose.The kit that it came with includes a rubber mallet for tapping the sections of laminate floor back into place and also several slick clear plastic stickers that I assume are designed to put on the laminate floor if you’re having trouble getting the suction cups to stick… Or maybe it’s just extra covers to put on the suction cups so that they stay clean in between use. Their purpose is not really spelled out because there weren’t any instructions that came with the kit. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this little kit. I think it should do the job when I get to the point where I’m able to try it out. I think it’s well worth the cost. If you have gaps in your laminate flooring that you’re struggling to try to close up… This is an easy way to fix the problem.

This is a genuinely useful tool that solves a real‑world problem when installing or repairing flooring. Anyone who has dealt with laminate or vinyl planks knows how frustrating floor gaps can be, and this suction‑cup system paired with a mallet is a smart, practical way to close those gaps cleanly. In actual use, I have no doubt it will work exactly as intended.I unexpectedly received the larger two‑suction‑cup version instead of the single version, and the design makes sense: strong grip, good leverage, and enough surface area to pull stubborn planks back together. The included accessories--adhesive pads, debris tool, and mallet--make this a complete little kit. Everything you need is in one package, which I appreciate.However, my set arrived with a few issues. First, it appeared used. There were signs of prior handling, and the mallet was assembled in a way that trapped the plastic packaging under the handle. The plastic was literally embedded between the mallet head and the handle, and I’ll need to cut it away with a razor blade. That’s extremely low‑effort manufacturing, and it took some of the shine off what should have been a clean unboxing.The tool itself is solid, and I expect it to perform well when I’m closing gaps during future flooring projects. But the presentation and quality control on my particular unit were disappointing. Your experience may be better, and based on the design, the product deserves better execution.For me, it’s a 4‑star tool reduced to 3 stars overall because of the packaging and condition issues. The concept is great, the functionality is there, but the delivery missed the mark.

Not entirely certain why there are two hitting surfaces. Normally I wouldn't be tapping flooring in both directions. I might tap them in two directions, with the second direction being 90 degrees from the first, but not 180 degrees. It isn't a biggie and adds a little more heft to the tool.Regardless, the idea is good, and with the flip-lever suction attachment the grip is excellent, assuming that flooring is fairly flat without excessive undulations - hand-scraped - or highly textured in some way. Unlike the suction cups I use for glass panels, which I want big and powerful, this is more petite, and that is fine when working with flooring. But it holds really well, and sometimes I had difficulty in getting it to release it held so well.There are additional pads of some sort, but with the engineered flooring I use they will not be necessary. It's a nice little tool that make it easy to get a really snug fit. And I like the bigger angled strike surface as opposed to a vertical one. No concerns at all as to getting the mallet head too low and striking the flooring surface.This does come with a smallish mallet, and I don't mind that size. I have bigger and harder rubber mallets, and they have their own uses, but most flooring that this tool will be used on shouldn't require anything involving brute force. A quick tap or two should do the job, and the mallet is well-suited for doing that.I found the tool to be useful, and at $21 was slightly above average in price, but with the current coupon of more than $3 off it is a good price for what you are getting.

I had a couple of my wood floor panels start to separate in a few locations, and I couldn't get them to slide by hand, but this thing worked perfectly. It's a very simple, but very well built, suction base, the hammer pads are built well, not flimsy or poorly welded, you can hammer away and not worry about this thing damaging it. I got the three panels back to their correct location without issue, and now I don't have to worry if I move furniture and make a panel slide or damage one accidentally.

I bought this floor gap fixer tool mainly for future use on some laminate flooring repairs, but I haven’t actually used it yet. I received this floor gap fixer tool with a rubber hammer to review. It comes with one suction cup, a rubber mallet, 5 transparent sheets and a gap tool. The suction cup is fantastic, and I love that it has felt coverings so you can lean against it or use the mallet to tap a floor piece into place—it works great. However, the suction cup only adheres to flat, smooth surfaces. The kit includes five transparent laminate vinyl sheets for use on rough areas or uneven flooring to help the suction cup stick, but once those are used, you’ll need to buy more. Interestingly, the suction cup also works well on glass, like our shower door, so it could be handy for moving glass panels. The rubber mallet is sturdy and works fine—just a standard mallet. My only issue is with the gap tool; its rounded backside makes it hard to lift dust or dirt from between floorboards. It pushes debris but doesn’t have a good hook to pick it up. Other than that, the tool is great, the price is reasonable, and I’d definitely order it for fixing laminate or vinyl flooring. I’m hoping it might also work on tile, I will definitely be trying that too.
