We got this two-way gate latch for our pig pen, and it has worked really well for that setup. Pigs are strong and have a way of testing gates and fences constantly, so I wanted something sturdier than a basic latch that could handle being bumped and pushed on regularly.The latch feels solid, and I really like being able to operate the gate from either direction. It makes getting in and out of the pen much easier, especially when carrying feed or trying to move animals. The lockable design is also a nice extra feature for added security.Installation was straightforward, and once mounted it keeps the gate securely closed without being a hassle for us to open. For livestock pens, especially pigs that tend to be hard on everything, this has been a very useful upgrade.

A heavy duty farm gate latch that makes opening & closing gates so much easier! I like that all of the pieces are coated too. The locking mechanism slides smooth & the latch itself is easy to install! It comes with screws & bolts needed to install but not the tools. I like that it is possible to put a padlock on this latch if you choose to. If you notice my second picture you will see that it did get a few scratches on it in transit but it didn’t affect the functionality of the latch. Worth the money to get this latch though!

This is my third one of these gate latches, and I’m slowly replacing the chains, ropes, old locks, and random latches we’ve been using on all of our gates. These are so much easier and more convenient, especially when you’re going in and out of gates all the time.The fit has worked really well on our gates. I especially like the round-to-square tube conversion because it gives you more flexibility depending on the type of gate and post you’re working with. Once everything is positioned and tightened down properly, the latch fits securely without feeling loose or like it’s going to shift around with regular use.The two-way design is one of my favorite features because it makes opening and closing the gate much easier from either direction. The gravity latch catches securely, so I don’t have to worry about whether I remembered to wrap a chain correctly or hook something back in place. Most importantly, the animals can’t push the gate open and escape, which is obviously a pretty big deal around here.This is a heavy-duty latch with a nice black finish, and it feels substantial and durable. It also gives the gates a much cleaner look than having chains and ropes hanging everywhere. Another nice feature is that it can be locked when needed, so we still have the option to completely secure the gate.After installing three of these now, I definitely prefer them over the different gate-latching methods we were using before. The fit is good, they’re sturdy, convenient, easy to operate, and make our gates much more functional. I plan on continuing to replace the remaining old latches with these. Definitely a good value for the money, especially for a farm or property with multiple gates and animals that need to stay where they belong.

EVCUHASL Farm Gate LatchIt is very well made. Strong materials and is accurate for the dimensions listed.I ordered it because I wanted to put it on my fence gate with a padlock I could access from both sides.I will have to modify my gate to accommodate it and give it a 3-4" gap but I think it's worth doing to have dual access with such a sturdy latch.Easy installation directions are included and from what I read online, modifications to use it on round posts are very doable.I would recommend this latch for ease of use, installation and value of materials used.5-STARS

I picked up this two-way gate latch to use on a gate I want to build at the ranch. While I haven't installed it yet, I gave it a thorough inspection and tested the operation.My first impression is that this is a very well-built latch. The steel components are heavy-duty, the finish looks durable, and all of the pieces feel like they're made to hold up well in an outdoor environment. The latch mechanism operates smoothly with no binding or excessive play, and the overall fit and finish are excellent.One feature I especially like is the two-way opening capability. Being able to open the gate from either side and in either direction adds a level of convenience that will be especially useful around the ranch when moving equipment or entering/exiting different fields. It certainly isn't a lightweight decorative gate latch, so I'm confident it'll stand up to the intermediate use I'll put it through.Based on the quality of the price, materials, construction, smooth operation, and the convenience of the two-way design, I have every expectation that it will perform well once installed. If you're looking for a sturdy latch for a fence, metal gate, or corral, this appears to be an excellent choice.

This is a beautifully designed two way gate latch that is really heavy duty. I wanted to wait to do my review until I had a chance to install it on our horse paddock fence, but I haven't had a chance to buy a new gate panel yet, so I wanted to give a review based on the product itself.The latch piece will bolt onto a pipe gate and it is reinforced and very solid. The receiver piece is designed to allow the gate to open in or out depending on your needs. That is the beauty of the design, as you get the same solid closing regardless of how you decide to do the opening. So often for something like this you just get a chain that you wrap around a post. This is so much better than that. The receiver will bolt onto a wood post - ours are 4x6 posts so it will work quite well.

I have a lot of gates around my farm and I have been slowly transitioning them to all have this type of two a one hand latch. It is very handy to have a latch that you can open and close with one hand. This particular won’t match opens and closes smoothly and well, no problems with sticking so far. They are easy to install once you get the hang of it. They come with a small adjuster on the inside that you may or may not need depending on whether you have have a duty or light duty gateYou do need to make sure that you leave enough space between your fence posts that there is room for the gate plus about 4 inches for this type of latch. If you have a little extra room, you can always adjust it using the hanger hinges on the opposite side of your gate. That being said this particular hinge is made of good quality materials, although I do expect it to rest eventually. That doesn’t really bother me. This style of hinge all seemed to be very similar to me. Brand-name ones have slightly smoother edges on the handles, but these ones are not exactly sharp. Apart from that they’re nearly identical. I also like the fact that these are black it’s a little more subtle than the bright red ones at tractor supply these are just as good as the brand-name ones so I consider a good value for the cost.

The gate latch hardware shown in is plenty strong and built to last, easily holding up to regular use. While it conveniently comes with its own mounting hardware, it’s worth noting that it arrives ready to mount primarily to flat wooden posts. Because my fence has round posts, I had to purchase separate U-bolts and drill a few new mounting holes to make it work. It required a bit of extra DIY effort to adapt, but besides that minor hurdle, it functions smoothly and works amazingly well.
