Being able to fine-tune the depth stop makes it easy to get consistent results, whether I’m working on small DIY projects or larger woodworking jobs.The bits are sharp right out of the case and have worked great so far in both southern pine and red oak. Thoughtfully Designed Countersink Set with Excellent Depth ControlI’ve accumulated more countersinks over the years than I’d like to admit, and this one has a few features that immediately set it apart.The first thing I really like is the built-in depth gauge. Instead of guessing or constantly measuring, you can dial in your desired depth and get repeatable results. That’s a real time saver, especially when you’re installing a lot of screws.The guide collar is another feature I appreciate. It doesn’t just help protect the surface of your workpiece from accidental marring—it also does a great job of keeping the drill perpendicular to the wood. That makes it much easier to produce clean, professional-looking countersinks without wandering.The storage case is well thought out, too. Everything has its place, so you’re not digging through a drawer looking for the right size.I also like that this kit includes both 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch countersink options. A lot of sets only include a 3/8-inch cutter, but depending on your screw heads and project, a 1/2-inch countersink is often the better choice. Having both makes this kit much more versatile.My only reservation is the set-screw locking mechanism. There are two set screws securing the depth adjustment, and while they hold well when new, I’ve owned enough tools like this to know that after a few hundred adjustments and bit changes, these mechanisms can start to lose some of their repeatability. That’s not necessarily a deal breaker, but it’s something I’ll be watching over the long term.That said, considering the price point, I think this kit offers a lot of value. The Faoyoon 9PCS Countersink Drill Bit Set is a nice bit of kit for the price. The set consists of five bits ranging in size from 1/8 x 3/8" to 3/16 x 1/2" in 1/64" increments, the adjustable depth stop, an allen wrench , a double ended #2 phillips bit, and a better than average slide lock storage case. As noted the ball bearing depth stop is lightly cushioned so it's non marring. All of the components are well made and the bits are nice and sharp.This type of countersink takes the guesswork out of setting the bit depth using an easy to read laser cut scale on the side with both imperial and metric scales. I have a similar but smaller set of countersinks like this already that has four flute counterbore bits, and I've found that they don't clear chips well at times, especially when countersinking softwood. This set has two flute bits that clear chips much better in softwoods and cut a clean countersink in hardwoods too. I set up some different wood samples including birch plywood, white pine, poplar, sapele and maple, and the bit cut a nice clean countersink in all of them.I have several styles of countersinks from the hardware store General countersinks to carbides , and I'm pretty happy with the quality of this set, and how well it's packaged.

As someone in the construction industry, I use my tools daily, and I am not easy on them, all while wanting them to work perfectly every time I use them. The whole set is made out of high-quality alloy that will last for years, even with the abuse I inflict on it. The best part is that this set, despite being so much better quality, cost me a lot less than the name-brand one I bought years ago. Everything you need is all in a rugged, lockable case for easy transport or storage. They include the wrench to tighten/loosen & set the counterbore itself in the case, so as I said, everything you need to make quick, clean counterbores is there ready to go when you need it. So if you're looking for a complete counterbore set, stop looking and buy this set. It has everything you need, made of high-quality parts for less than the brand name ones (and again, better quality), so buy it, use it, and love your results!
