I grabbed this to fix a few gaps in my laminate flooring, and it worked way better than I expected. I vacuumed out the gaps and cleaned the area first, then got to work.The tool feels sturdy with a nice powder-coated finish, and it comes with a rubber mallet and strike block. After just a couple of taps, the gap closed right up. I moved down the row and had the same result all the way to the wall.The sticky pad on the bottom holds it in place while you tap, but it peels off clean without damaging the floor, which I really appreciated.I was originally going to try one of those DIY hacks with tape and a wood block, but this made the job way easier and faster. Definitely a great little tool to have on hand.

This style of gap fixer is much better for LVP and its fragile interlocking pieces than a conventional flooring puller. This tool in particular is a good one. The gummy pad on the bottom holds firmly but still releases cleanly, and they include a spare pad for if/when the first one wears out. The frame is sturdy steel, with a nice thick handle. The whacking plates are at a good angle to be accessible even near a corner, but still translate the force mostly sideways where you need it.However, the included mallet isn't really the right tool for the job. It doesn't have enough heft to apply the force you really need. You are much better off getting a proper rubber mallet that is heavier and doesn't need to be swung as hard. That mallet will be useful for hitting the flooring directly too, as long as you get a white/non-marking one. See picture with comparison of included mallet vs the mallet you actually want.For the $20 price, it's a handy tool worth investing in before your LVP project.

This floor gap fixer seems heavy duty and durable. Unfortunately it didn't work for the purpose that I got it for, as I've since discovered that the previous homeowners glued the hardwood floor planks together, but I do intend to use it to assist with placing laminate floors. I tested it on both hardwood and vinyl and it stays in place well without damaging the floor or leaving beind sticky residue.

I recently finished installing LVT flooring and used this tool heavily during the process. It ended up being much more useful than I expected and definitely made the installation easier.The tool itself feels well made and sturdy. It held up well even after being hit repeatedly with the included rubber mallet. Nothing felt flimsy, cheap, or like it was going to crack or bend during use. The mallet is also a nice addition. It has a good feel to it and worked well for tapping planks into place without feeling like a throwaway accessory.The sticky bottom works surprisingly well. It grips the flooring/surface nicely when you need it to, but it can still be pulled off without much difficulty. That balance is important because you want it to hold while tapping, but you also don’t want to fight with it every time you need to reposition it. I also appreciate that it comes with an extra sticky pad for when the original eventually wears out.The design is simple but effective. Being able to use it to help close gaps and shift planks into place made the flooring process smoother and less frustrating. The 45° and 90° striking surfaces are also useful depending on the angle you’re working from, especially when you’re trying to avoid lifting or damaging the flooring while still getting enough force behind the tap.Overall, this is a very handy tool if you’re installing laminate, vinyl plank, LVT, or similar flooring. It feels durable, grips well, comes with a useful mallet, and genuinely made my flooring project easier. I’m glad I had it for the install and would definitely recommend it.
