I ordered these particular replacement blades mostly out of curiosity. Ceramic seems like it wouldn't be ideal in a utility knife. Turns out, they are actually quite functional.Quick Summary:1. Very, VERY sharp out of the box.2. Surprisingly tough.3. Hold an edge about as well as the steel blades you typically see in this context.4. Reasonably good value for the money.I thought a really good test would be to cut lengths of skid tape with one. It's quite thick with a lot of hard, gritty granules to hit as you go through. A task I would dislike using my personal steel-bladed pocket knife on. I was mildly surprised at the blade performance. The first two 6-inch cuts were very smooth, leaving crisp edges. It started to feel like a little more work on the third cut, but it continued to work well enough. So I snapped off the top inch of the blade to keep going. That was pretty straightforward. There were not any resulting little shards of debris like one might expect when breaking ceramics. I did not achieve an angle at the top, but it felt like I could have if I'd used the right tool. In any case, I didn't need a pointy bit for the job at hand, so I carried on.I do like using these blades. I'm not certain that I do anything with a knife that requires a ceramic blade, but they are very sharp a.nd hold their edge about as well as I'd expect a steel utility blad would. I would buy these again because the initial sharpness is unreal.

These are great. Really, really sharp. If you have things that you don't want to use a metal blade for, these are a great alternative. I was really surprised at how sharp they were. Considering how many come in the pack (5) they're pricier than standard steel utility blades, but they're awesome still.

These are very sharp utility knife blades! The advantage of using ceramic blades are that they do not rust, their sharpness lasts longer than steel blades. I switched the blades from steel to ceramic because of being lightweight and very sharp. Installation is very staright forward. The only disadvantage of it for me is that they are fragile and would easily break.

These blades are very sharp. They last longer than regular metal blades that get rusty, I would prefer if you could break it up by pieces as the tip loses sharpness, so keep that in mind because you need to replace the whole blade!

It seems that Amazon delivers LOTS of cardboard to our house. Yes there are products we ordered inside the boxes, but the sheer volume of cardboard used is overwhelming. Regular blades quickly dull when used to break down cardboard. These ceramic blades make quick work of the cardboard. They have worked well and should last a long time.18mm is a standard blade size. The ceramic blades do not have break away parts for a "new" blade like traditional utility knife blades. These are just one solid piece of ceramic. You will have to be careful with the ceramic blade. Ceramic blades don't survive being dropped or twisted. As long as you take care of the blade, these blades will cut for a LONG time.Bottom Line: ceramic blades are superior to metal when breaking down the mountain of cardboard Amazon delivers to our home.
