It connects only to your hot and cold water supply lines and sends the water directly through the tub spout. If your plumbing is already set up for a wall-mount tub filler, installation is much easier. If you need to run completely new water lines, that’s where a DIYer may want to call in some help.For my installation, it connected directly to my existing hot and cold supply lines behind the wall without needing any special adapters or extra fittings. That made it a perfect fit for my bathroom remodel and saved me a lot of hassle.And then there’s the water flow. Exactly what You want for your master bath. The design could go with tubs that have a vintage or modern look as it transcends all timelines.Stats:Faucet nozzle reaches out 18.5". The back of the nozzle starts at 17.5". The diameter on the wall is just shy of 2.25".Handles come out from the wall 2.5". It is 2" in diameter on the wall. Each handle is 3.5" long and 1" wide.The brass valve component in the wall is screwed into framing at 10" on center. Without the attached screw bracket, it measures 9" across. With the bracket is 10.5" across.Installation:They make things unmistakable for the installer. The cold water valve and handle have blue plastic parts and the hot water has red (see photos).The water nozzle fits snuggly in place with three round washers to help prevent leaks.They include an entire roll of Teflon tape and a hardware kit which has everything you need to complete the installation. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. As a semi novice I could install this on existing water lines. Then would set up the wall and do the tile work. When I was done with the tile work, I would finish by installing the handles and nozzle.On a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being the most difficult I would rate this installation a 2 as long as the water lines were in place. If water lines need to be ran, I would up it to a level 4 "Weekend Plummer that could have gone pro".
