Perfect tool to close a flooring gap

[Color: Black]
This tool is well built and believe I've beat the heck out of it trying to pull my flooring back together. It held up like a champ. The suction cup works really well, and if it gets dirty, i just run it under water and it dries almost immediately and is ready for use again. It is smaller than other tools I've see for this function, but I found that the size didn't impact how well it worked for me. It was easy to use - just clean the floor, set this down against the edge of the board you need to move, tighten the suction cup using the lever, and then hammer away in the direction you want the board to move. It is a little heavy, so if you drop it you will damage your floors, so be careful. This is a great tool for the money, and I am glad I got this over paying someone to come in and do it for me.

Poor Wood Vinyl Tile AdhesionPoor Wood Vinyl Tile Adhesion

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
After experiencing water damage throughout the house, I had the carpeting in the bedroom floors replaced with vinyl wood-plank laminate flooring. Unfortunately, the general contractor I used didn’t do a good job, and I was left with plank gaps in the middle of the floor of one room. I ordered the floor gap fixer tool to remedy that issue.Gaps in floor tiles capture debris over time. A gap cleaner was included in the gap tool kit to dig that debris out. After working with the cleaner, I used a portable vacuum to remove the loosened grit and proceeded working with the gap closing tool to close the floor’s gap. While far from perfect, the gap tool did close the largest floor gap some. It may not be as unsightly as it was, but it’s still larger than the other wood tile seams on the floor. Using the gap tool, I was able to get the floor tile to move some before the gap tool started sliding along the tile in response to my hammering. I installed one of the nano-patches that came in the kit to get a better gap tool adhesion. The result was the same; the gap tool would lose its floor suction, slide, and fly off.The gap tool adheres to floor tiles using its large suction cup. Levering down the handle in the middle of the tool creates the suction. The suction cup will not adhere to a tile with a textured surface. It is for those that the nano-patches come into play. The patches have an adhesive glue on one side that secures them to a textured floor tile. The smooth plastic top surface of the nano-patch provides a flat surface for the gap tool’s suction cup to adhere to. It didn’t seem to work for me, however. The gap tool slid across the nano-patch as I hit it with a dead blow hammer, and lost its adhesion.I haven’t given up. The gap tool got me close to what I’d hoped for. If I think about it longer, I’ll come up with a solution that gets me the rest of the way.

Good Quality but Small

[Color: Orange]
Bigger is not necessary better but sometimes it has some advantages. I usually start by looking at the the pros of a product but for this suction tool, I think I should start by focusing on the cons. It's actually just one issue: the size. I was expecting a bigger tool. Instead, this is small.I can definitely see some advantages under certain circumstances, especially when you working with small pieces of laminates or wood. However, for me, its small size got in the way for the material length I was working with. Fortunately, I had an electric tool that I used for those and only used this one when working with smaller material. That put aside, it feels very sturdy which will probably translate as long lasting. It is also very easy to use and the value is undeniable. Just keep in mind that it is much smaller than it looks in pictures.

Works good on composite decking.

[Color: Black]
Every spring I have to move things around on my deck, to tap on the ends of several sections of planking in an effort to close the gaps that have occurred during the winter freezes. This suction gap repair tool makes the process so much easier. It grips securely, and the planks easily slide back together with very little effort. I use a medium size dead-blow hammer to tap on this tool. The suction is great, and it's lightweight and strong. For my type of use, this tool will last a lifetime.

Great for reconnecting short ends of the boardsGreat for reconnecting short ends of the boards

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
Overall pretty pleased with this handy tool. It works perfectly for closing up gaps in seams at the short ends of the planks. My current issue is the long side of the plank. I tried to use the tool but ended up breaking the little lip that holds the planks together. While it did get the planks slightly closer together, it wasn't a simple tap tap like the short ends and my only real fix now is some seam glue, though one board sits higher than the other. I may just end up tearing up the floor as it's only a few rows in and this little tool will be helpful tapping in the short ends back to the existing floor. My floor is not smooth, so the plastic pieces need to be used to make it adhere. If you just have gaps between the short ends, this will 100% do the trick. Long sides may or may not work. I feel like with my maple flooring it would work better than the vinyl planks with already marginal lips on the boards that are fragile. Tapping on those boards didn't fix the issue.

It Really Did Close the Gaps!! Small, Hardworking, Easy to Use Floor Gap Tool.

[Color: Orange]
When I ordered this Floor Gap Fixer Tool by LWW, the picture made it look huge. I wondered how I was going to handle that but the gaps in my laminate flooring that I disliked so much won out. When the tool came in, I was not prepared for how small it was in reality. It is about 5.5 inches across at its widest point. Then I wondered how it could work being that small. It is made of heavy duty metal but is still light enough for just about anyone to easily use. I followed the enclosed easy instructions. It took me a couple of tries to create that vacuum that holds the suction cup in place, but once I got it on right, the tool had a very firm grip. I used a mallet and found that the 45 degree angle on the tool was easier on my hands and wrists than expected.I am something far less than amateur when it comes to home repair, but this tool was designed for all degrees of ability. It took me about 3 tries the first and second tries, but by the time I got to the third gap, it was almost second nature. I was so surprised to see the gaps really did close up.For the quality and ease of function, this tool more than earned its 5 star rating to me. The price point is very reasonable and accessible to most people.

Great Tool for Closing Flooring Gaps Quickly and EasilyGreat Tool for Closing Flooring Gaps Quick...

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
I purchased this Floor Gap Fixer Tool to address a few stubborn gaps that had developed in my vinyl plank flooring, and I was honestly impressed with how well it worked. The overall quality of the tool exceeded my expectations. The construction feels heavy-duty and solid, with a sturdy suction cup that creates a strong grip on the plank without slipping during use.Setup was straightforward and beginner-friendly. The included adhesive pads were easy to apply, and the suction cup attached securely to the flooring surface. I especially liked the 45-degree striking surface design, which made it easy to transfer force efficiently and move the planks back into position without causing damage to the floor. The results were excellent. Gaps that had been bothering me for months closed up in just a few minutes. The tool provided enough leverage and control to make precise adjustments, and I didn't need any special flooring experience to get professional-looking results. It saved me from having to call a contractor for what turned out to be a simple repair.Durability also seems to be a strong point. The materials feel rugged enough to handle repeated use, and the suction cup maintained its holding power throughout the repair process. This is clearly a tool designed to last rather than a one-time-use gadget.Considering the quality, performance, and the money it can save on flooring repairs, I think this tool offers outstanding value. Whether you're dealing with laminate or vinyl plank flooring, this gap fixer is a worthwhile addition to your toolbox. Highly recommended for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts alike.
