I'm repairing some old window screens and picked up this mesh. The mesh looks and feels much more robust than the original screen which wasn't metal. Installation is relatively simple, but you need the right tools to do it. If you don't already have them, get yourself a window screen toolkit which will come with a pick, a roller, and probably a replacement rubber seal that you use the roller with. The only drawback to metal screens is the material is harder to work with during the install. That said, I'm hopeful this will last much longer, so the extra installation effort is probably worth it. The screen mesh is very thin and easy to see through. I'm glad I went with black and not silver, the black screen is almost invisible.

No more broken screens, no sun damage, and no more flying insects inside the house.I'm building some frames for window screens and got this stainless steel window screen to match. I'm tired of the poly-whatever plastic screens lasting for one season before they bake and break from the hot summer sun.The screen material is definitely heavy duty and it should last for decades. Since it is stainless steel, rather than plastic, it's not not as flexible as plastic. This screen will not work in my current window screen frame. Because of this, I'm building my own custom frame to accommodate the less flexible screen. There are lots of videos to show how to make your own frames.If you only want to install window screens once every 10-20 years, this is the window screen for you.
